My Mate Is An Omega -
My Mate Is A Virgin Chapter 43
Andromeda POV
Even after being with my mate for months, and feeling like I had known him for years, he still intrigued me. Jasper Stray was a box of surprises - mostly good, annoying at times, but always fascinating. They say curiosity killed the cat, yet throughout the rest of the meeting with my right hand, I could barely focus as my mind fantasized about what my charming little mate was planning for our date.
The clock seemed to have slowed down, and Adriana had to pull me from my daydream more than a few times, but at last, I was free. Once all of our allies had been contacted, I headed straight to the Queen's Chambers. I was a pile of nerves ever since my mother told me about the war, but now, only a week before I'd have to watch my troops march into the battlefield, I could finally relax a little.
Thanks to the aid of our allies, who had all agreed to send warriors to fight alongside us, we had been able to even our numbers. The news about my King having defeated my strongest huntress was also a huge relief. I trusted him with my life, and I had no doubt he would succeed in defending Snow Pelt, but now I was less worried about him getting gravely injured.
When I made it to our room, I tried to open the door as quietly as possible, but before I even stepped inside, Jasper turned around to face me. It seemed he was getting more and more used to the lynx's light feet, which I had to admit was a bummer; sneaking up behind him was one of my favorite ways to approach him.
My slight annoyance turned into confusion when I noticed he was holding a sleeveless silver and pearl brocade dress with dipped hem. It was tight at the waist and had a beautiful, shiny rounded skirt. It looked particularly beautiful, but I couldn't remember seeing it among my fairly large collection.
"There you are, My Queen. Right on time." Jasper smiled brighter than ever, lifting the dress in the air. His gaze shifted between the fine piece and me a few times before he continued. "What do you think?"
"It's...stunning," I whispered, still trying to make sense of the situation.
"That's a relief. I had it made a while ago, but since I never picked clothes for women, I was afraid you might not like it."
"You had it made?" I was baffled. "What for?"
He shrugged. "No specific occasion. I just wanted to get you something, and I thought it could come in handy for one of our dates. Today seems like the perfect opportunity." His proud grin made my heart melt as he closed the distance between us. "Come on, try it on. I'm sure it'll look even better on you."
As sweet as his gesture was, I needed a few seconds to process it. This was definitely a first for me. No man had ever picked out my clothes, not even my father. In fact, my own mother stopped buying pieces for my wardrobe when I was six; by then, I had already been trained to choose the best outfits for every occasion, and I did so myself. It took a while for my shock to fade away, but once it did, an idea crossed my mind.
I took a step forward, allowing my body to press against his. His blue eyes, full of curiosity, locked on mine, studying my sudden move. The moment I rested one hand on his shoulder, he subconsciously released a small breath through his parted lips. Was this what it meant to take someone's breath away?
"Will you help me, My King?" I whispered, my mouth inches away from his lips.
"Of course, My Queen," he answered in a mesmerized tone, as if he was hypnotized by me. Nothing made me feel more powerful than to realize how much control I had over him.
I turned around slowly, shivering as his hands traveled along my shoulders. He took his time to feel my skin before his skilled fingers moved to my back, leisurely unzipping the dress I was currently wearing.
With his aid, the piece fell to the floor, pooling around my feet. I graciously stepped out of it, while my mate lowered himself to pick it up, resting it over his shoulder. As expected, he didn't miss the opportunity to brush his fingertips against my legs on his way back up, setting my skin on fire with his touch. His hands stopped at my waist, grasping my curves a little more roughly. I could feel his breath on my neck becoming more ragged as he fought the hungry wolf inside of him, but to my surprise - and quite frankly my disappointment - he regained control.
Jasper gently pulled the dress he had gotten me over my head, careful not to mess my hair. Again, he allowed himself to leisurely explore my curves as he helped me put on the delicate piece. At last, he zipped up the dress. His arms snaked around me from behind and he turned me around just slightly so that I was facing the mirror.
"Your beauty is out of this world, My Queen," he breathed out in awe, his eyes glistening as he stared at our reflection.
"Thank you for the lovely gift, My King." I slowly turned to look at him with a passionate smile. "And what will you be wearing?"
He held his index finger up, winking before he disappeared into the suite bathroom. A moment later, he came back dressed in a linen off-white shirt that matched my dress' color and black trousers. He had his sleeves rolled up to his elbows, just like I had taught him. He also made sure to leave a few of the top buttons undone, revealing enough of his sexy auburn chest hair. His outfit was a perfect mix of classy and casual - it made me wonder what he had planned for our evening together.
"Now that we're all dressed up, shall we go?" Jasper held out his arm for me. Not bothering to hide my excitement, I quickly took it.
"And where exactly are we going?"
"You'll replace out in a second." He smirked, letting me know I wouldn't get a proper answer. Choosing not to insist on the matter, I simply rolled my eyes at him as we continued on our way.
It didn't take me long to realize where he was taking me - my childhood hiding spot. As usual, we made sure no one had followed us. It honestly didn't matter if other clan members found out about the place, but keeping it a secret made everything a lot more interesting.
Once we entered the unfinished cell, I noticed he hadn't brought candles or any light sources for that matter. I suppose it wasn't necessary though; not only were we able to see just fine in the dark due to our night vision, but the sun hadn't set yet, so its rays could still illuminate the chamber through the unexisting fourth wall. Then, my eyes landed on the different appetizers on fancy platters placed over small, square pieces of cloth.
"A picnic?" It was sweet, but I couldn't resist the urge to tease my mate as I glanced at him, a smirk playing on my lips. "Kinda cliché, don't you think?"
"It's a sunset picnic," he clarified, tightening his embrace to pull me closer. He lifted his fingers to my face, gently tucking a strand of my golden hair behind my ear. "The food is just an excuse for us to watch the sunset together so I can try to figure out what's prettiest - the view..." He turned towards the open wall, and I found myself doing the same. I don't think I had ever come down here during twilight; the snow-covered lands looked even more stunning painted in gold. When I looked back at him, I found his piercing blue eyes staring intently at me. "Or you."
I lost my breath as my heart started racing inside my chest. s**t! My mate knew very well how to please a female, but he also had a way with his words. Once a womanizer, he had a full set of skills on how to treat a queen, yet now he was devoted to me only. It was evident in the way his gorgeous eyes glistened with love.
Genevra purred inside my head, begging me to claim his lips for the millionth time, but I hesitated; I didn't want to give in just yet. I was curious to see what else he had in store for our date. For that reason, I dodged by pulling away subtly when he leaned forward. Instead of frowning in annoyance, a smile crossed his lips, letting me know he liked the challenge.
Enchanted with the view, I walked towards the center of the room without paying much attention to what was on the floor. I made sure to avoid the food plates, having already memorized where they were, but I still froze when I heard a crack underneath my high heels. My heart almost stopped as I feared I had accidentally ruined one of the dishes. However, when I realized what I had stepped on, I instinctively furrowed my brows.
"Sticks...?" I uttered in confusion, taking a few steps back.
The moment my eyes met my mate's, I noticed his smile had grown brighter. Without hesitation, he snapped his fingers, lighting up a makeshift campfire in the center of our picnic setting. Only then did I realize the sticks had been placed in the shape of a heart, now set ablaze.
"This is what you do to me, My Queen." Jasper pulled me from my confusion by taking my hand in his, earning my full attention. "You set my heart on fire."
I looked away, hoping he didn't see me blush. "I thought you sucked at romance."
"I thought so too." He laughed a little. "But then again, there was a lot I didn't know about myself." His hands wrapped around my waist once again. This time, I couldn't break eye contact when his piercing gaze locked on me. I was frozen like a deer in the headlights; not because of fear, but because of the love I felt for this man. "You helped me figure out who I am so I could feel comfortable in my own skin. And for that, I'll always be grateful to you, Dree."
That was it; I couldn't keep my cool façade any longer. The perfect idea he had for our date, the effort he put into preparing everything, the sincerity in his voice... His fire was too intense for my icy heart. As I melted in his hands, I was at a loss for words. "What is it, My Queen?" He leaned closer, studying my diamond eyes.
"I'm just realizing for the thousandth time how madly in love I am with you," I blurted out without thinking. "I love you so f*****g much it hurts, Jasper Stray, and I wouldn't have it any other way."
A triumphant grin lit up his face. He had been winning me every single day for a good while now, yet it never felt like less of a conquest to him. One of his hands traveled to the back of my neck, sending goosebumps all over my skin as he leisurely traced the mark he had placed there many moons ago.
The attraction we felt towards each other was so intense that we usually wasted no time getting into action. Our insatiable hunger always made us want to go fast. But this time, it was different.
Jasper pressed me towards him by my neck just to allow our lips to brush. I would always crave his heavenly taste, but for once, I let myself get lost in the warmth of his breath. I closed my eyes, exploring the way all of my other heightened senses responded to my mate. My heart beat faster when I respired his scent, fireworks exploded on the spots he touched me. When his tongue finally invaded my mouth with a tenderness I didn't know he had, I was set on fire from the inside. This simple kiss felt more intense than any night we shared together.
And as I relished in his taste, I didn't need him to say how much he loved me back. His mouth was telling me that in a different, undeniable way without using any words.
