My Mate Is An Omega
Bonus Chapter 1

Jasper

POV

As an Omega and a stray, I had to get a job sooner than most other wolves, but I never had to work so hard in my entire life. Lance and Caitlyn understandably needed some time to unwind, and with Luke injured, most of the items on our ginormous to-do list fell on my shoulders. Thankfully, I had Sasha to share them with me.

We spent entire days in the office by ourselves. Everything was a mess, and it was our duty to make sure the packhouse wouldn't be burnt to the ground - although I was still tempted to turn it into a brothel. Speaking of which, I don't think I had ever spent so many hours without having a woman. To my surprise, it didn't bother me though. Concentrating on work helped keep my desire under control, but the main reason why my busy days were actually enjoyable was... well, Sasha.

"Stop slacking off, stray!" The Delta threw a small crumpled paper ball in my direction. If it weren't for my werewolf reflexes, I wouldn't have been able to catch it before it hit my face - but I doubt it would have caused significant damage anyway.

"I wouldn't dare leave all the work to you." I flashed her my usual smirk, and she rolled her eyes in response. "I'm done with my pile," I said, pointing at the papers beside me with my nose. "Do you need some help with yours?"

My smile grew brighter when she furrowed her brows. Annoying her had quickly become my favorite pastime. "How do you go through this stuff so fast?"

"Maybe I'm a better Gamma than you are," I bragged standing up from my seat to slowly head her way. Her gaze followed me cautiously as she remained seated on her own chair. I stopped right behind her, leaning over her in a subtle movement. To my surprise, she didn't flinch like I expected her to; she stared right back at me, her caution turning into... curiosity? "Or maybe you just underestimate me too much."

"Of course, I do." She scoffed, but the corner of her lips soon curled up in a smirk. "You have so many secrets you refuse to share. You're the one mystery I can't solve." Her face was so close to mine that I could feel her hot breath against my mouth, yet she remained unmoving. Why was she allowing me to get so close? She would usually put an end to my teasing before it got this far.

"Are you intrigued by me, Sasha?" I whispered, diving into the clear blue ocean in her eyes.

The tension between us grew as I started inching closer. The whole world disappeared, and it seemed like time had stopped. I could feel my palms sweating against the dark wooden table. My heart was beating faster, my thoughts were blurry... What was going on? Why wasn't she pushing me away?

Our lips were mere inches away when her eyes clouded over, as did mine.

"Sasha, Jasper," the Alpha's voice echoed inside both of our heads, pulling us back to reality. "I'm gonna need your help with our guests right now. Whatever it is you're doing, you can finish it later."

Once our connection was cut, my eyes went back to their usual pale blue color, and I finally realized what was going on. The Delta and I stared at each other for the longest, most awkward seconds of my life as I blinked a few times, unable to believe my actions. Was I really going to kiss her? And was she actually going to let me?!

I turned away abruptly, coughing lightly. As the rush of adrenaline died down, I could hear the sound of my heart beating like a drum... or was it hers? Was she nervous?

"Of course, she is, stupid!" Phoenix scoffed inside my head. "She's our Delta, not your next meal. Get a hold of your damn hormones!"

"What?! I don't see her as-"

I shook my head, deciding he didn't deserve an answer. Instead, I pushed him to the back of my mind so I could focus. I still had to replace a way to break the ice after the awkward situation I put us both in. Clearing my throat, I straightened my posture, allowing the girl some room to breathe.

"So, uh... seems like we have work to do, huh?" I forced a smile as I turned to her.

"Nice icebreaker!" my wolf teased in amusement. I frowned at his remark.

"Yeah! Seems like it," Sasha replied with a nervous laugh. We stared at each other for a few seconds longer before I took the lead.

"We should go then." I stretched my hand out to help her stand, and she hesitantly took it.

I should probably get laid soon. The heavy workload and s****l abstinence weren't a healthy combination to me apparently, as it seemed I was starting to lose my mind.

On our way downstairs, Sasha changed the subject, saving us both from more awkwardness. Thankfully, we both managed to let the subtle event go and went back to teasing each other, as we always did. As it always should be.

"Wait." She stopped abruptly as soon as we reached the first floor of the packhouse, forcing me to turn around. "Do you smell that?"

I arched an eyebrow at her, sniffing the air quickly. "It's just the same smell of burning firewood and lemon grass incense to me. Should it be any different?" She stood still for another moment, lost in thought, before she determinedly rushed past me. "Hey, wait!" I yelled, but she didn't listen; she was dead set on beelining towards the exit. And all I could do was follow her.

As soon as the tall double doors opened, the snowy fields outside were revealed. There was a lot of movement at the town square, considering we would be receiving a few important leaders today. Sasha's eyes were wide, locked on a specific spot, and as I followed her gaze, I noticed a tall man staring right back at her.

The moment his lips parted, I could understand the single word - mate.

"Oh, s**t!" the Delta and I whispered in unison.
