My Mate Is An Omega
My Mate Is A Virgin Chapter 2

Jasper POV

s**t, s**t, s**t!

Time around me seemed to stop as I tried to process what was going on. My mate was a princess. A f*****g princess! The Moon Goddess must have been delusional when she decided to tie our souls together. There was no way a stray like me could ever be enough for a royal, a woman who had been born with a silver spoon in her mouth.

With the princess' diamond-like eyes piercing through me, I had to fight to look away from her. My friends, who were now greeting the queen, didn't seem to have noticed what was going on between me and her daughter. It made sense; most times when mates found each other, they were very vocal- and physical - about it, but both of us just stood frozen in our spots, eyes locked on each other. It allowed me a few more seconds to think about what I should do before everyone found out about it.

There was no way this would ever work. I just knew it. This breathtaking woman could be undressing me with her eyes right now, but as soon as she learned about my origins, she would obviously reject me. And I was fine with it. I knew very well a worthless stray like me wasn't fit to become a prince, and a king after that. No, this was just insane. The best I could do was pretend nothing happened and wait for this to be over. Hopefully, it wouldn't be too humiliating, but even if it was, I could deal with it. "Have you gone bananas?!" Phoenix's sarcastic tone startled me. "Look at her! You might be a loser, but I'm not. I'm not giving up on this f*****g masterpiece of a female so easily," he scoffed, puffing his chest. "Just calm down, player. Don't run away with your tail between your legs now. You have swept many women off their feet, this is just a new challenge. It'll be just like Lady and the Tramp, but better!" A sassy wolfish grin lit up his face. "Show her your charm, Tramp!"

In a second of clarity, the corner of my lips turned up in my characteristic smirk as I realized he was right. I might be a wolf with no name, but it wouldn't be hard to show her why she should stay with me; after all, I had a lot of experience. For the first time, my shameful past could just come in handy.

"Jasper?" Lance called, pulling me back to reality. When I turned to him, I realized they were waiting for me to greet our guests. Show time.

"Forgive me, your Majesty." I took a step forward, lowering my head at the queen. "It's an honor to have you back."

My smile grew brighter when I turned to her daughter, whose eyes were curiously studying my actions. I didn't hesitate before kneeling dramatically in front of her, slowly lifting my hand to ask for hers. She didn't seem the least surprised; in fact, her mischievous grin let me know she was enjoying my approach. My skin burned with pleasant tingles as soon as we touched, and when I placed my lips on the back of her hand, it was as if I had kissed a Goddess. By now, my friends were shooting me confused glances, but I just ignored them; they would soon replace out what my show was about.

"May I have your name, your Highness?" I asked, never taking my eyes off her.

"I am Andromeda Tudor Barclay Charlemagne," she casually replied, holding her head high. Damn, even her name was so powerful it sent shivers down my spine.

"Andromeda," I repeated teasingly, causing a small growl to escape her throat. "I am Jasper Stray, Gamma of Diamond Tempest Pack. It's an honor to finally meet you...mate."

Shocked gasps could be heard all around us, but neither of us took our eyes off each other. The longer I stared at her, the easier it became to notice how her sassy half-smile perfectly matched my smirk. Just by looking at her, I could already tell she had the same energy as me, and it made all of my insecurities disappear. A part of me thought she would be pure and serious since she was a princess, yet it seemed like I was wrong, thankfully. I didn't know a lot about werecats except for the fact that they tended to be a lot more sexually active than wolves. I couldn't believe I was actually thinking this, but I hoped she had had her own fair share of men; this way, we could both put our pasts behind us and start anew. No judgment. No regrets. No guilt. Just love. And s*x, of course.

"Is this true, Andromeda? Is this young wolf your mate?" The Queen's calm voice pulled us back from our trance, causing us to finally break eye-contact.

"Yes, Mother. Jasper Stray is my mate," my princess promptly replied, glancing at me from the corner of her eyes. I felt shivers run down my entire body as I stood up again and I almost fell back down. Damn, hearing my name slip through her delicious lips was so enticing it almost made me explode.

"Tell her my name! I wanna hear her say my name too!" Phoenix begged frantically. It was getting hard to fight both him and my urges, but I held onto my control.

"She will be calling both our names soon enough, buddy. Over and over again," I replied teasingly, but soon realized my mistake.

I had to quickly clench my fists to hide his black claws, which had broken through my skin as he pushed closer to the surface. With a deep breath - and a lot of determination I managed to send him back to the depths of my mind. Hopefully, no one noticed my eyes rapidly changing from blue to black as I fought an inner battle against the horny beast inside of me.

"What a wonderful surprise! To have both of the Goddesses of the Moon bless your visit, Queen Nymeia!"

Most clans of werecats also worshiped the Moon Goddess, but a different one. Selene was the Wolf Mother, while Bastet was the Cat Mother. It was believed that the two once fought to claim the moon, thus starting a war between canine and feline shifters. Unwilling to watch their children suffer because of a competition for power, they put an end to the war by agreeing to share their rule over the moon.

Setting aside the Shifter History lessons I had to take after I became Gamma, I glanced at our Luna with gratitude. She quickly took charge of the situation, while our Alpha was still speechless by her side. Poor Lance; he had always been the slowest out of our trio. "Indeed," the Lynx Queen agreed. "Such a unique union is known to only occur once every thousand years."

"I believe it's a good enough reason for us to allow them some time to get to know each other before dinner," Caitlyn suggested, winking discreetly at me. Goddess, did I ever mention how much I loved this woman?

"Very well. Andromeda, I expect you to be back in a couple of hours." With that one condition, Nymeia gestured for us to go.

Once again lowering my head, I stretched out my arm in my mate's direction. "Please, allow me to show you our kingdom, your Highness."

"Thank you for your hospitality, Gamma." She smiled as she gladly took my hand.

Little by little, we distanced ourselves from the rest of the group. We slowly made our way across the town square in silence. There were a million questions inside my head, but at the same time, I simply couldn't replace the right words to say. I had never been good at communicating, since I was used to keeping my thoughts and feelings to myself. Perhaps it would be best to show her what I was thinking instead.

As soon as we were far enough from unwanted attention, I decided to trust my instincts. Without a second thought, I pinned the princess against a tree. A soft gasp escaped her mouth when her back hit the wood with a low thud. Our eyes met again and I hesitated, waiting for her reaction. She was stunned at first, but it didn't take long for the corner of her lips to turn up in approval. Then, she was the one who took me by surprise.

My eyes widened when she pressed her soft lips against mine, her rough tongue invading my mouth violently. My shock, however, only lasted a fraction of a second before I instinctively closed my eyes to focus on the most amazing sensation I had ever experienced. When my mind started racing, I had to dig my claws into the wood to keep my balance, but I couldn't hold back my groans of delight. Her taste was sweetly divine, yet it also had an addictive hint of spicy sourness that drove me insane. The longer our tongues wrestled, as if wanting to become one, the harder it was to remember the world around me.

No words had been spoken since we left on our walk, but she didn't seem the least bothered by it - I sure as hell wouldn't complain either. Testing her boundaries, I slowly placed my hand on her waist. She immediately moaned into my mouth, giving me the green light to keep going. I let my hand travel up her stomach and chest as my lips moved to her neck, anxious to taste every inch of her skin.

"I hope you don't take it the wrong way, your Highness..." I finally decided to break the silence, whispering against her neck. "But my wolf and I have been desperate to have you since we laid eyes on you."

"Straight to the point, eh?" she quickly replied, and for the first time, I stiffened, afraid she would think I was moving too fast. But I was completely wrong. "It's nice to know you're not the type to beat around the bush. I like men who aren't too shy to give me what I want."

When I looked into her eyes, they were filled with mischief. And it only fueled the fire inside of me. "Believe me, your Highness... As long as you're with me, I'll make sure you are satisfied."

"As hot as it is when you address me so formally, I'd prefer you to just call me Dree. It feels more...intimate." I could feel her smirk even though I wasn't looking at her anymore. Could this woman be any more like me?

I had to return the gesture. "As you wish... Dree." I placed a few more kisses along her collarbone as I continued to lower her dress. "How do you like it? Fast or slow?" I asked right before her breasts were exposed, still busy tasting her skin. "Show me what you can do, mate," she growled sensually. Her animalistic sounds were music to my ears. "You don't need to take it easy on me just because I'm a virgin."

Wait, what?

The second the words left her mouth, I froze. This woman - my mate, no less - was that eager to offer herself to me, when she had never been with anyone else before? While I had been with more women than I could count... At that moment, my world came crashing down. My confidence and lust were gone. Even Phoenix, who had been crawling underneath my skin, begging to be let out so he could claim our fated partner, suddenly went quiet. The thought triggered something inside of me. Though I didn't understand exactly what that something was, I knew I couldn't keep going.

"What?" Andromeda arched one of her eyebrows, a hint of annoyance in her velvet voice as I slid the straps of her dress back over her shoulder.

Our eyes met for a brief moment, guilt striking through me. I couldn't bear staring into her pure, innocent diamonds anymore. It was killing me.

"I'm sorry. I have to go" was all I managed to utter as I turned away.

"That's it? You're just gonna leave me here, in the middle of nowhere?!"

"Just turn right after you pass the tree with a tire swing. You'll be right back at the town square," I instructed her, but never looked back. "I'm sorry," I repeated before closing my eyes and bolting towards the pack house, running away like a scared little pup. All the way back to my room, it felt like my chest was about to explode. I couldn't think straight, I couldn't think clearly, and no matter how many breaths I took, I couldn't really breathe. Just a few minutes ago, it felt like my life would finally have a meaning, but now, nothing made sense anymore.

Only when I closed the door of the Gamma suite did I manage to calm down a little, unaware of how I even managed to get here. I took a moment to collect my breath before I started pacing the room anxiously. Why, Goddess?! Why did you have to pair me, a dirty scumbag, with a pure princess? What kind of twisted game was this?! For f**k's sake! Why could nothing ever go right for me?

"Because you make terrible life choices!" my wolf growled. Oh, there he was.

"Not now, Phoenix!" I barked right back at him. If he wasn't going to say anything useful, he had better stay quiet!

I stopped suddenly when a clear thought crossed my messy mind. Everything would have been so much easier if Sasha had been my mate. She already knew me, and though she didn't approve of my choices, she understood me. She was the only one I ever let a little deeper underneath the surface, the walls I built around me to prevent anyone from seeing how f****d up I really was. And I knew she felt a special connection with me too; otherwise, she wouldn't have come to me on that drunken night.

But that would be selfish. Sasha was the one person I couldn't afford to ruin. She deserved better than me; I would never be able to bring out the best in her, even if she had that effect on me. I was glad she had found her mate in Alpha Cedar. They were perfect for each other.

Yet I couldn't help but wish she was here with me to help me fix the mess I got myself into.

An unexpected knock on my door made me stiffen. Could it be Andromeda? She could definitely replace me by following my scent. However, I quickly discarded the possibility when I realized I couldn't smell her tantalizing fragrance. In fact, after focusing a bit, I quickly figured out whose scent was lingering in the air.

"Jasper? May I come in?" Caitlyn's angelic voice confirmed my suspicions.

Remembering the conversation we had earlier, I felt comfortable enough to let her in. There was a mix of confusion and pity in her expression as I opened the door for her, rushedly pulling her inside before closing it again. Unaware of what I should say, we just stared at each other, her analytical gaze studying my distress.

"What happened? Why did Princess Andromeda come back alone?" The Luna finally broke the silence.

And I couldn't take the guilt any longer.

"I can't do this, Cait," I whispered as I turned around, too ashamed to face my friend. "I have to reject her."
