My Mate Is An Omega -
My Mate Is A Virgin Chapter 16
Jasper
POV
Before I noticed it, two weeks had gone by in the blink of an eye. The fight-or-flight state I had gone into after learning about who I was mated to made the days seem never-ending; the hours used to drag by, the minutes becoming more stressful as the clock ticked. Every second used to be painfully long as I dreaded having my secrets exposed. I thought I couldn't afford to live without my guise, but the truth is, I wasn't truly living until I gave it up for the one person who somehow managed to bring the best out of a worthless stray. After Andromeda and I talked, really talked, two weeks went by in the blink of an eye.
At first, she was the only one I could feel comfortable with while being my true self. However, it slowly became harder and harder to keep my act up in front of the pack. Other than feeling more relaxed, I didn't notice the change in the beginning until my friends started subtly pointing it out. Their usual jokes turned into compliments. Honestly, it still scared me a little; as the expectations they had for me grew, so did my fear of disappointing them. But all in all, it wasn't nearly as bad as I had expected it to be. Of course, my relationship with Dree had gotten a lot better as well. We spent a lot more time together, which allowed me to show her more about my world, and to learn more about hers. Aside from the little details she told me, I started sitting down to read about lynx clans whenever I wasn't too busy training the future Gamma. It helped me slowly get used to the idea of becoming King someday, and even if I wasn't entirely fond of the idea yet, it was impossible to feel insecure when I had such a strong future Queen by my side.
As the connection between us grew, so did my desire to have her. For now, our intimate moments of foreplay were keeping my urges at bay. In a very short time, she had become a master at milking my d**k, and it satisfied me to pleasure her too. I had never imagined myself in a relationship before, especially not one where we're taking things slow, but I was actually comfortable with it.
I wasn't ready to take her virginity yet, as my worries about not being enough for her hadn't completely vanished, but she didn't seem too bothered by it any more. I knew I couldn't keep running from it forever. Delaying the mating process would have consequences for the both of us. At least I had finally come to terms with the real reason why I felt guilty about claiming her, and I was preparing myself to give her what she wanted the most. I wanted our first time to be special, not because I felt the need to prove something to her, but because I had to prove it to myself. I had to be sure she wouldn't be just another one.
As tainted as I was, I needed Andromeda to be my first, my one and only.
I would do everything to make sure our first time together would make my past seem irrelevant. It was taking a lot of time, definitely a lot longer than I thought I would be able to stand, but I was already planning our special night. As long as I could make it perfect for the both of us, I hoped my insecurities would go away.
"You can take some time off to eat, you know. Those books aren't going anywhere." Andromeda's sweet voice captured my attention. Focused on my studies about werecat history, I didn't even hear her walk into our room.
"How was the meeting with Tigger?" I asked casually as I took a bite of my bagel, closing the book I had been reading. I couldn't hide the smirk on my face as I addressed the fucker by the cute nickname I had given him.
Luckily, Wade hadn't been bothering me ever since our heated encounter at the hallway. Of course, he still threw dirty looks at me, but he avoided talking to me at all. I doubt his sudden change of behavior had anything to do with my threat though. Either Andromeda had put him in his place, seeing as she was much scarier than me, or my lingering scent on her from our nightly foreplay was keeping him away. Whatever the reason, it didn't change the fact that I was content as s**t. "Stop calling him that." She rolled her eyes, but smiled nonetheless. "The two of you will have to get along eventually."
"Will we though? I mean, once I'm King, won't I have the power to banish him if I so please?" I joked.
"Only if your Queen approves." She arched an eyebrow at me, but soon dropped her act to place a kiss on my temple. "Anyway, nothing new under the sun. A casual conflict between members, that's all."
"Makes sense. Cats are quite territorial, right? Which is why clans have far less members than packs." "Wow. You've really been studying hard, haven't you?" She showed me a surprised look.
"I'm just trying to impress my future Queen." I smiled, leaning forward to capture her lips in mine.
My lynx smiled as she pulled away. "What about you? Are you done working on that side project?" "Yeah, it's finally ready."
"Does it work?" Judging by her tone, it seemed like she was more excited than me.
I quickly glanced at the digital clock on the bedside table. "We will replace out in about ten minutes." I turned back to her. "Are you coming with me?"
"As if I would miss the chance to see Jasper Stray's brilliant mind in action," she teased as she got up from her seat. As I followed her, I felt my stomach turn. I wasn't quite used to the weight of her expectations yet.
"There's a chance it might not work, you know," I warned her, in hopes it would minimize her disappointment if I failed.
"Of course there is." She shrugged before turning to wink at me. "But I have no doubt you will replace a way to make it work eventually."
Like I said earlier, it was impossible not to feel confident by her side. With a small smile, I put on the small sling backpack before jogging back to her side. As we headed out, I interlaced our fingers and brought her hand up to my lips to plant a soft kiss on it before we continued our walk.
I stopped in front of the door of the Alpha's office to take a deep breath. Dree squeezed my hand reassuringly, offering me the strength I needed to finally step in, not bothering to knock as always. When I noticed all of my friends standing around, I felt my anxiety build up.
"Damn. It's crowded in here today," I stated nervously before greeting them.
"Yeah. We have no meetings outside the pack, and there are a few issues we need to discuss," Lance clarified. He was holding his Luna closely by his side, and I couldn't help but notice how big her belly was. I had been watching it grow slowly throughout the weeks, yet it still surprised me; I think she was due in a month and a half or so.
"Now that the two of you are here, we can finally get started." Caitlyn smiled sweetly at us. From the corner of my eyes, I saw my mate returning the gesture.
"Uh, actually, there is something I would like to do first." I swallowed dryly as I pulled the bag over my neck.
"Are you done with that already?" The Alpha grinned at me.
"Hopefully," I whispered.
"Done with what?" Charles arched an eyebrow at him. He was the only one who had no idea about what was going on.
"There's something I've been working on for the past couple weeks..." The boy's eyes widened as he watched me pull the robotic structure out of the backpack. I stretched my hand in his direction to allow him to take a closer look at it. "After realizing how bad you struggled to work with some of the more practical tasks, I decided to try developing this."
"A bionic arm?" The future Gamma grabbed the object, analyzing it thoroughly. "It's...for me?" I nodded. "Gamma, these things cost a fortune!"
"I know. Which is why I bought the separate parts and built it from scratch myself." Damn, saying it out loud made it seem way more impressive than I thought it was. "It wasn't that hard, you know. There's a lot of research regarding the topic on the internet. I just had to study a few articles and..." Goddess, now I sounded like a nerd. I shook my head, clearing my throat. "Anyway, why don't you try it out? Let's see if it works like it's supposed to."
The room went dead silent as we all eagerly waited for Charles to attach his new bionic arm to replace his missing limb. It took him some time to adjust it, and I considered offering him some help, but I didn't want to make him feel impaired. In the end, he managed to do it. He was the one to let out the first gasp as he moved one of the robotic fingers, and the rest of my friends soon followed.
"That's... This is amazing, Gamma Jasper! Thank you so much!" The joy in the boy's expression filled me with glee, causing all of my nervousness to disappear.
"It's not that I think you weren't capable of fulfilling your duties as a Gamma. Quite the opposite, actually," I clarified. "I just wanted to make it easier for you, and I hope this helps."
"It certainly will," he replied, never taking his eyes off the robotic hand.
"Man, that's really awesome," Luke chimed in, as impressed as Charles was. "How did you manage to do that? I mean, how does it move?"
"Well, it would take a lot of time to program the connection with the nerves, and it would likely need surgical intervention, so to save some time I asked for Cordelia's help," I continued to explain. "The bionic arm understands the movements because it was enchanted."
"So f*****g cool," Megan whispered in awe.
"It's really impressive." Lance agreed before flashing me a playful grin. "Who knew you had it in you to develop something so complex!"
"I did." Caitlyn beamed proudly.
"Of course you did, beautiful." He leaned closer to her, brushing his nose against hers. "Nothing goes past your incredible Original instincts." He was about to kiss her lips when I cleared my throat yet again, making him frown.
"I thought we had important issues to discuss?" I arched an eyebrow at him.
"Right." He sighed, unamused. "Charles? You can sit out of this one if you'd like. I believe there are more important things on your mind right now." He smiled at the boy. I could tell he was about to refuse, concerned about his duties, but I was faster. "Why don't you do the rounds by yourself today? See if you can put this beauty to use," I encouraged him.
"B-by myself?" he stuttered.
"I think you're ready, future Gamma." I winked at him. "You know how the procedure works. If you need anything, just link me."
He hesitated a bit before finally rising from his seat. "Thank you, Alpha Lance. And thank you again, Gamma Jasper." He bowed his head at us, the smile never leaving his face.
I followed him with my eyes as he walked out of the room, and soon enough, my mate's hot breath against my ear sent pleasant shivers down my spine.
"You are indeed amazing, my prince. I hope you can see it now." She discreetly slid her hand under my shirt, making me stiffen. Oh, s**t! I was already hard for her. I hoped no one could see it.
The sound of the door closing behind me startled me, making me jump back. "Alright, let's get to it." The Alpha clapped his hands before moving to sit at his desk.
For the next two hours, we discussed a lot of different topics, mostly regarding the changes that would occur upon my departure. It still felt surreal to think I would be leaving the only home I had known some time soon, but I tried not to show my apprehension throughout our meeting. Still, the questions kept popping up in my head. I was only starting to feel accepted in Diamond Tempest after twenty years; would my mate's clan welcome me easily? Would they think I was weak for being a wolf? If so, would it have an impact on our relationship? Did I even have what it takes to be King? The title alone sent shivers down my spine.
"Where's your confidence, Tramp?" Phoenix scoffed. "You weren't this insecure when you were roaming the streets off-leash."
"Do you even recall how that movie goes? I'm currently going through the transition of throwing away my lifestyle to become a house dog." I mentally facepalmed instantly. Did my wolf seriously trick me into calling myself a dog? His laughter made me frown harder. "The point is, Tramp wasn't so full of himself after he almost lost Lady. And it only happened because he kept trying to avoid the fact that he was scared of committing to a relationship. I'm trying my best here, okay?"
"I can't believe you're analyzing a kids movie so deeply." He shook his head, still laughing.
"You were the one who said I was Tramp in the first place!" I barked back.
"Okay, that will be all for today." Lance's voice pulled me back from my argument with my wolf-self. "You're dismissed." As usual, the Beta couple stood up to leave first. I was ready to follow them when the Alpha spoke again. "Not the two of you." "What have I done now, Alpha?" I said playfully, showing him my usual smirk.
"As bizarre as it seems, nothing."
"We actually wanted to invite the two of you to a double date," Caitlyn chimed in.
"A double date?" I arched an eyebrow at her. Well, this was unexpected.
"Well, it won't be long until you have to leave. We wanted to make sure Princess Andromeda feels like part of our family before then," she clarified. I swear she was the sweetest person I had ever met.
"Thank you so much for your concern, Luna Caitlyn. We would love to," Andromeda answered promptly. "Should we invite Beta Megan as well?"
"Uh..." Lance and I uttered in unison, looking away.
"She's my best friend, yes, but she can be a bit...extra, sometimes. Especially when she's with Luke. I don't want her to scare you. Or say anything embarrassing about me." She frowned as she whispered the last bit. "She can tag along on our future hangouts." "Alright then. When are we doing this?" I asked.
Caitlyn and Lance exchanged looks, bright smiles on their faces. I already knew it was a bad sign.
"Tonight!" they both chanted.
