My Mommy Became A Billionaire After the Breakup -
Chapter 1648
Chapter 1648 Never in Debt
Sally's voice trailed off.
Jessica's expression shifted instantly, but she quickly regained calm. With a mocking smile, she looked at Sally. "My true nature? What true nature? You can't possibly believe that those random people and some chat logs Mrs. Crawford found can prove anything against me? I can easily fabricate a story..."
"Jess."
Sally looked at the woman she couldn't even recognize in front of her and called out softly.
Jessica's words stopped abruptly.
"The day you sent me to that old man's bed, I came to you and recorded our entire conversation," Sally stated bluntly, without hesitate.
Elijah stood by, and his brows furrowed deeply.
As Sally spoke,
She took out her phone, presumably to ensure Jessica believed her. After pressing a few buttons, Jessica's voice from their confrontation years ago echoed from the device.
"Sally, you're so despicable!" Jessica shouted angrily, reaching out to snatch the phone from Sally.
Sally just let her take it.
After seizing the phone, Jessica quickly deleted the audio.
"You can delete it if you want, that's just a backup," Sally remarked emotionlessly.
Jessica froze.
"Besides, I also have videos of you conspiring with others on how to tarnish my reputation," Sally continued.
Both Athena and Elijah looked shocked, and their face turned gloomy.
"Jessica, did you always think I was a fool? Holding onto evidence and still defending you was indeed naive. But today, I'll teach you a lesson. Even the fools have their claws and fangs," Sally said coldly. With that, Sally showed no interest in arguing further with Jessica.
Holding Elijah's hand, she turned to Athena. "Athena, there are so many delicious dishes at the banquet, all of which Elijah and I have selected over the past months. Every dish is top-notch. Let's go eat!"
Athena nodded and smiled.
The more she got to know Sally, the more she felt she was genuinely a good person, capable of holding onto and letting go of things gracefully.
Just as the three were about to leave,
Jessica lunged at Sally, trying to grab her hand.
But Elijah moved faster, pulling Sally close and avoiding Jessica's reach.
Jessica fell to the ground, tears streaming down her face, "Sally, I know I was wrong. Can't you just pity me and forgive me this once?"
Athena frowned, concerned that Jessica's pleas might once again sway Sally.
After glancing at Jessica, Sally shook her head decisively, "Jessica, I'm not the same person anymore. I no longer seek your approval by belittling myself. I won't tolerate you anymore." Jessica became increasingly desperate, "Your mother ruined my mother's family and happiness. That's a debt you owe me!"
She resorted to the same argument she'd used for over a decade.
However, at this time...
"If she owes you, go replace her. I have never been in debt to any member of the Campbell family," Sally replied calmly and coldly. "No! Don't do this to me, Sally!" Jessica was in utter panic.
She had always maintained a good image outside.
If her husband's family learned about her malicious nature, they'd force him to divorce her to preserve the family's honor!
And her father...
And all those people who were waiting to laugh at her downfall.
