Chapter 1703 Coming Home

Micah quickly waved his hands, refusing the pastries.

It was fine to have a popsicle, but he couldn't accept these specially bought treats.

"It's alright!" Sally stuffed the pastries into Micah's hands. "I'm leaving tomorrow. These are all I can get for you."

"Leaving tomorrow?" Micah was momentarily surprised and then appeared somewhat despondent. "Well, have a safe journey."

"Oh, don't be sad. I'll come back again!" Sally reassured him when she saw his reaction.

Micah paused and hastily denied, "Mrs. Patterson, I'm not sad!"

"Alright, alright, you're not sad!" Sally quickly agreed.

Micah gave her a somewhat irritated look, then bowed toward her and left.

"He's quite childish!" Sally said, though her face wore a smile, "But in a cute way! How could his parents bear to send him to the church?"

Elijah remained silent for a moment. "His parents died in an accident when he was very young. His relatives refused to take him in, so he was sent to the church." Sally's smile disappeared, replaced by a growing sadness. "When did that happen?"

"At that time, he was just a newborn baby."

Sally looked at Micah as he walked away.

Seeing how plump Micah was, Sally assumed he had been well taken care of when his parents were alive.

Otherwise, he wouldn't have this healthy look when the dining hall's food was barely palatable.

"Don't be too upset. Everyone has their own karma." Elijah comforted Sally, patting her head. "Get a good night's sleep, and we'll leave early tomorrow morning." "Okay."

Sally nodded.

On the way back to their residence, Sally rapidly typed a message in her chat with Athena and Evie, describing Micah's unfortunate background.

Today was the day when Aiden and Mia received their final exam results.

Aiden remained calm. He didn't even need to guess before knowing he once again ranked first in his grade.

Mia, on the other hand, was very nervous.

In her quest for a good result, she wore a red tracksuit for luck.

Ottilie was also calm.

Even if she didn't achieve first place, she was undoubtedly in the top ten.

Breakfast was sumptuous, but Mia, who usually enjoyed her meals the most, was eating distractedly.

"Mia, you'll be fine," Ottilie reassured her.

She didn't know whether Mia had heard her, but she absentmindedly nodded.

After breakfast, they took two cars out of Lakin.

This time, they didn't go to Aiden's school first.

They passed by his school gate but didn't stop.

As Aiden put it, "Let's see Mia's first. She looks like she's about to stop breathing."

Once they arrived, Mia dashed into the school campus like an arrow, faster than anyone else.

Athena held Byron's hand as they got out of the car, and she whispered to him, "Byron, do you think Mia is so nervous because she wants to prove herself to you, or is it because she wants to secure first place so that Paul will continue to tutor her during the summer break?"

Byron fell silent.

Byron replied, "It's because of me, of course!"

Athena immediately laughed. "That's what I thought too!"

While they were talking, Paul came out of the school gate.

Athena greeted him immediately. "Paul!"
