Chapter 1740 Will You Teach Me?

Roland hit his girlfriend, too.

He didn't think it was wrong for a man to hit a woman.

After all...

Most of the properties at home were under Samuel's name. Over the years, Daphne had been completely drained by Roland.

After weighing the pros and cons, Roland knew whose side to take.

What if Samuel didn't give the properties to Roland after he died?

"I'm being reasonable," Roland said, "You were the homewrecker, and it was really bad of you to cause the death of Emily's mother. I always wondered why I had such bad luck. Now I believe it is because you did too many bad things. And that's why I'm always unlucky."

Roland's words shocked everyone.

It was like thunder on a clear day.

It struck Daphne, Beatrice, and Samuel.

Daphne was shocked that her son could be so ungrateful.

Beatrice and Samuel had a realization.

Beatrice believed she and Aron were set to marry. But before Aron graduated, he married such a lowly woman!

Beatrice thought it was all because of Daphne's bad deeds, which affected her.

Samuel was a different story.

For years, he just relied on his savings and couldn't win any money in card games.

"Let's go home!"

Samuel shouted at Daphne with anger in his eyes.

Daphne wanted to run away.

But Samuel grabbed her hair. They argued all the way to the parking lot. He shoved Daphne into the car and drove off. Mike stood still, watching the chaotic departure of this family.

He sent a message to Athena: [The curse left.]

Athena replied: [Okay.]

Then she looked over at Evie.

Beatrice tried to hit Evie with her shoe. Evie was fine. But Aron and Mia reacted the most.

After a while...

Mia still clung to Evie. She kept asking if Evie and her unborn sister were scared.

Evie reassured Mia again and again that everything was okay.

"Mia, come to mommy," Athena said softly.

Mia looked at Athena and then walked toward her, looking insecure.

Athena held Mia and asked, "Weren't you studying with Paul? Why are you here?"

"I felt that my little sister missed me," Mia replied sadly.

Athena looked at Paul in the corner, holding a slingshot.

The marble that hit the shoe came from his slingshot.

"Paul!" Evie called out.

Paul looked uneasy.

"Don't keep thanking me. I... I don't like it!" Paul quickly said.

"We're not thanking you. I'm just amazed at how good you are with a slingshot!" Evie exclaimed, "You hit the target every time!"

Paul looked down and replied, "I've played with it a lot. That's why."

"You're awesome!" Evie gave a thumbs up.

"Paul, teach me!" Sally raised her hand, eager to learn.

Paul looked at her, surprised.

"I'll buy you a new slingshot! Will you teach me?" Sally asked again.

"Mrs. Patterson, you can't," Mia said, rejecting the offer for Paul, "Paul has to tutor me with my homework!"

"You're top of your class. Why do you still need tutoring?" Sally asked doubtfully.

"Mia is studying next semester's textbooks," Paul answered.

"Oh, okay." Sally looked disappointed.
