Chapter 1781 Emotional Stability Is the Most Important

Gideon paused in his actions.

"Remember what I told you at your house. If not for yourself, think of Sally. Live your life well, don't get trapped in the abyss of regret and revenge. Don't bring unnecessary turbulence to Sally's peaceful life. Don't let her think of you as a nuisance, okay?"

"Don't let her think of you as a nuisance."

These words echoed like thunder in Gideon's ears.

Time seemed to stand still.

Gideon didn't answer, and he stood still.

It took Gideon about five or six minutes to regain his composure. He gave a hoarse acknowledgment, opened the door, and walked into the rain.

Athena raised her eyes and looked out the window.

After all, he had been through, Gideon had lost a lot of weight, which made him look incredibly lonely and sad in the rain.

"Gideon has agreed to your terms and won't cause any more trouble, right?" Dorian asked Athena.

"Probably." Athena replied with a hint of resignation.

"To be honest, if I were Ms. Campbell, I'd choose Mr. Patterson," Dorian suddenly remarked.

Having been through many battles, Dorian had his fair share of injuries.

During their time in Northern Canakey.

Elijah had treated some old wounds of Dorian. The places that used to wake him up in pain no longer hurt.

Therefore, Dorian was politer and respectful to Elijah than his boss, Athena.

"Why do you say that?"

Athena asked.

"Mr. Patterson is very emotionally stable. Look at Gideon. He used to have a scholarly demeanor, but now he seems like he could go mad at any moment!"

Athena chuckled at his words.

"In any case, when our Ottilie gets married, I'll be sure to vet her suitors carefully. Anyone emotionally unstable is a no-go!" Dorian daydreamed about his future role as a father-in-law and grandfather. "Enough with the daydreaming. I'm starving. I didn't eat breakfast or lunch!" Athena interrupted.

Dorian chuckled and started the car, slowly driving away.

Gideon stood at the front door.

Gideon looked back at the departing car.

Then Gideon looked at the door lock.

After a moment, instead of using his fingerprint to unlock the door, Gideon pressed the doorbell. Gideon pressed it three times.

It was the secret code Gideon and Sally had established.

When Byron was hunting Sally, they set up this code. Three rings meant Gideon was there.

Gideon pressed the doorbell.

Then he took a step back and stared at the door.

One second, two seconds...

The door remained shut.

Gideon's heart felt like it was being torn apart during this seemingly endless wait.

"Gideon couldn't seek revenge anymore."

"Sally might see him as a nuisance."

"What else could Gideon do to associate himself with Sally?"

"It seemed there was nothing left."

"Gideon had always been reluctant to enter her world."

"Gideon didn't like her nail salon, and he didn't like how Sally always wanted to travel the world with him."

"Travel around the world?"

Gideon snapped back to reality.

He immediately opened the door and rushed inside.

Gideon found Sally's computer. The password was his birthday. After logging in, Gideon found Sally's world travel plan.

Upon opening it, Gideon cried bitterly.

Over the years, all her major life plans involved Gideon.

[Go to Iceland with Gideon for my thirtieth birthday!]

[Watch the Northern Lights in Norway with Gideon!]

[Watch the fireworks in Osaka with Gideon!]

[Watch the Gemini meteor shower with Gideon!]

And so on.

The list was extensive.
