My Mommy Became A Billionaire After the Breakup -
Chapter 1808
Chapter 1808 Is It Bad
"Richie didn't get punished when I was there. I don't know what happened after I left," Athena replied.
She looked down the corridor.
Had there been a child there just now?
But where she had stood, there seemed to be a blind spot, so it was possible that the child had run off before she arrived.
"I should have taken you with me earlier. We didn't need to rush." Athena continued, "Just now, Emily and I were gossiping about Mark and Tommy."
"What's wrong?"
Athena recounted all the dangerous antics of these two irresponsible fathers, one incident after another.
Byron listened while frowning.
With just a brief thought, he knew that if any of these things happened to Aiden or Mia... No, it wouldn't happen. He wouldn't allow it.
"Richie seemed to be quite unlucky," Athena chuckled, thinking of Richie's chubby, happy face. "His dad and grandpa took him fishing together, but his dad accidentally knocked him into the river. Just as they fished him out, his grandpa accidentally capsized the boat before he could even sit still!"
The details of the incident came directly from Richie himself.
He described how his butt had been hooked by a fishing hook so vividly that Athena even felt she was right there when that incident happened.
Athena found Richie both pitiable and hilarious and couldn't stop laughing as she leaned on Byron's arm.
Byron liked to see Athena happy.
When she laughed, he couldn't help but smile too.
He thought that before they left this place, he should invite Richie to come over more often.
The incident with Mia almost having a serious accident couldn't be kept from Rose.
That evening, Rose called Athena.
"Athena, until Byron fully recovers, it's best not to let him take the baby out alone," Rose said gravely, "We can't rely on such luck every time."
Rose knew that Herbert had saved Mia and was grateful for that.
If it weren't for the fact that the dog couldn't become a property owner, she would have given Herbert a whole building.
Athena thought for a moment.
In the end, she bit back the words she had wanted to say. "I understand."
"I heard that you've started introducing him to Imbe Group's affairs. How is he adapting?" The Stella Group had been very busy lately, and Rose's memory was still stuck at Mia teaching her father to recognize words.
"His instinct for making decisions regarding the company is deeply ingrained in him, so we don't need to worry about that," Athena replied.
In the past few days, Byron had gone through all the financial reports for the first half of the year.
If there were any problems, he could spot them immediately.
So, the fools in the company who had tried to kick her out while Byron was away were most likely a product of Byron's deliberate indulgence.
"That's good. If he can return to work earlier, his condition might improve significantly," Rose said.
Athena was puzzled. "Condition?"
"Don't you think there's something wrong with his condition? It's like he's completely overtaken by someone else, excessively polite," Rose said. She preferred the old Byron, who would lose his temper and slam his hand on the table if she pushed his buttons. Besides, he was also very spirited.
But now, Byron didn't seem like himself.
Athena pursed her lips.
"Is this a bad thing?" She asked.
Thinking back, she had always hoped that Byron would be less ruthless and a bit politer when she was with him, that he wouldn't always be so domineering and overbearing.
