After a whole day of running around and just venting out her emotions, Athena was already very, very tired.

But she still couldn't fall asleep.

Whenever she closed her eyes, all she could see was the ferocious scar on Byron's wrist.

In a half-awake state, almost unconsciously, she placed her hand on Byron's wrist.

Byron didn't sleep last night and had been busy all day today. Now, he found solace and a sense of security from Athena and was sleeping peacefully and deeply. He had some strange dreams.

When he woke up, it was already bright outside.

Athena, who had been sleeping next to him, was no longer there.

He glanced at the time and realized that he had missed the time to take the children to school.

Byron hastily got up.

He changed into his casual attire and was about to go downstairs.

Just as he reached the doorway, the door opened.

"Awake?" Athena looked at Byron. "I thought you were going to sleep until noon."

Byron felt a bit embarrassed. "I slept so deeply."

"You didn't sleep the night before yesterday. Yesterday, you were a hero rescuing someone and also went to the river to retrieve a phone, and at night..." Athena raised her eyebrow and stopped there, then she went inside, patting Byron's waist. "You're so tired. It's normal to sleep deeply."

Byron remembered the indescribable joy of last night.

He reached out to hug Athena.

Athena slapped his hand lightly. "Sit on the couch. I will apply medicine for you."

The smile on Byron's face faded slightly, and he instinctively touched his wrist. "I applied medicine last night. There's no need."

"Yes, you do need it."

Without looking back, Athena took the medicine box and brought it over.

Byron could only obediently sit down.

She gently tore open the waterproof plaster. The scar no longer appeared red, but it still looked ferocious.

"It looks like a twisted worm lying here," Athena commented.

Byron's face immediately changed.

"Don't say that..."

Byron was disgusted by soft and boneless worms.

"Hmph."

Athena snorted, carefully cleaned the scab, and then took out a piece of tape. She cut off a strip with scissors, applied it to the scar, and then replaced it with a new piece of waterproof plaster. "Yesterday, people from Imbe Group couldn't replace you, so they came to me. I made decisions on their behalf." Athena paused after finishing her sentence. "Do you want to use your old phone?" This wasn't the first time Athena asked Byron.

Just like last time.

Byron shook his head. "No, I'll just get a new sim card and a new phone."

"Why don't you want to use your old phone?" Athena asked with confusion.

"I don't like things I'm not familiar with or don't know." Byron lowered his eyelids. "But if you want me to use my old phone, I can." Athena looked up.

Then, with quite some strength, she slapped his thigh.

Byron looked aggrieved.

"Let's go downstairs for breakfast. I've already bought the new phone, and the sim card is ready. After eating, take me to the park." "Okay."

Byron obediently nodded.

Then, the two of them walked downstairs together.

The phone was the same model that Byron dropped into the river, and the color was the same.

While having breakfast, Byron activated the sim card on his new phone.

He received many missed calls.

Byron searched through them, but the little boy didn't call again after leaving.

"Did that child contact you?" Athena asked.

Byron shook his head. "I think everything got resolved."

"Shouldn't you call him to check?" Athena suggested.

"His family situation is complicated. If there's a problem, he would come to me on his own. I'm afraid I might cause trouble if I call him," Byron said gently, "Let's see in the afternoon. If he still doesn't contact me, I'll reach out to him."

"That works."

Athena nodded.
