Chapter 2022 No One Answered

"I found it on the roadside and couldn't unlock it, so I asked Siri to call the owner's wife, and that's how I got in touch with you," explained a passerby.

"Thank you. Where are you? I'll come over now!" Athena said quickly.

"Lotus Street," the other party replied.

Athena's heart skipped a beat.

Lotus Street was close to the park where she had saved Byron.

It was a thirty-minute drive from Lakin.

How did Byron's phone end up there if it had been with him earlier when she left the house?

"Okay. I'll be there soon, and I'll reward you for your help. Thank you!"

Upon reaching an agreement with the other party, Athena promptly ended the call and dialed Dorian's number directly.

"Mrs. Crawford," Dorian answered in a hurry.

"Is Byron home?" Athena questioned in a cold tone.

"When I left, he took the kid back to the room to sleep. He should be home," replied Dorian.

"Go check on them immediately!" Athena demanded sternly.

Sensing urgency, Dorian quickly gathered himself and dashed towards the main building without bothering to change his shoes. Once he reached there, he first inspected the garage and noticed that one of the cars was missing.

"Why is one of the cars gone? Who is out?" Dorian asked.

"Mr. Crawford said he was going to pick Mrs. Crawford up."

Dorian suddenly remembered something and said, "Check the car's GPS immediately to see where the car is!"

As he said that, he called Athena back.

"Mrs. Crawford, the bodyguard here said that Mr. Crawford..." Dorian looked at the security guard. "How long ago did he go out?" "An hour ago!"

"Mr. Crawford went out an hour ago and said he was going to pick you up and take you home."

"Where is Martin?" Athena's voice was very cold and solemn.

"Not long after you left, Mr. Crawford asked Martin to go out. I'll give him a call."

"You can call him later. Come to Lotus Street immediately!"

Dorian seized a set of car keys and hastily got into a car.

Upon reaching Lotus Street, Dorian phoned Martin, but no one answered.

Meanwhile, Athena was on the way to Lotus Street at breakneck speed.

Observing her pursed lips and subdued demeanor, Logan wisely refrained from making a sound.

A journey that usually required thirty minutes was completed in just twenty. Parking by the side of the road, Athena flung open the door and got out of the car.

"Athena, slow down!" Logan rushed out of the car, trailing closely behind Athena.

The person who picked up the phone was a clerk at a nearby 24-hour convenience store.

He picked up the phone on his way to work.

It was near the convenience store where he worked.

Athena quickly found him.

"Thank you so much." Athena took the phone. The screen was in worse shape than earlier, with bits of parts exposed in the lower left corner. Compensating the clerk, Athena left the store.

She knew Byron's password.

Once she unlocked the phone, she immediately navigated to the call history.

It didn't take long before she noticed that an hour earlier, Byron had made six calls to the same mysterious number.

Suddenly, she spotted Martin's number, squeezed in between the peculiar calls.

Without hesitation, Athena grabbed Byron's phone and dialed Martin's number, but unfortunately, there was no answer.
