Chapter 375 Can I Call You Dad?

As the saying goes,

"All good things come to an end."

No matter how much Mia dawdled, it was time for the two to separate.

They stood in front of the van.

Byron took out a box and handed it to Mia, saying, "This is a phone I bought you, and it's installed with the chat app. I have already added you on the app, and you can drop me messages when you miss me."

Mia took the box but couldn't help choking with sobs.

Byron hugged her, feeling distressed.

"Don't worry. I'll come and see you often," he promised.

Mia didn't know what to say to Byron.

Her mom wouldn't allow her to see her Byron again.

"Byron, I will work very hard on painting and strive to hold an art exhibition as soon as possible!"

By then, Byron could come to see her art exhibition, and she could see him.

"Good!" Byron rubbed her head. "Hurry up and get in the car. It's already late, and your mom and dad must be worried."

Mia buried her head in his neck.

"I don't have a dad," she said in a muffled voice.

Byron was startled. "What?"

"I don't have a father," Mia sobbed.

It never occurred to Byron that she kept mentioning her mom, not her father, because she didn't have a father. "Mia..."

Byron panicked.

"Byron, can I call you Dad?" Mia asked, sobbing.

Byron's heart felt like it was being cut.

He thought of his own child.

He thought of his stupidity and mistrust.

"Yes... of course." Byron's voice trembled.

Mia hugged him and called out, "Dad."

Byron subconsciously held Mia tightly.

"Mia, it's okay. I will protect you like a father. Whenever you need me, I will be there for you," Byron solemnly promised.

Mia nodded and finally let go of Byron.

He also released his grip on her.

He smiled softly and wiped away her tears with his big hands.

Mia continued to sob.

"Byron, I'm going home."

"Okay." Byron nodded with a smile.

Mia cried and waved at Byron. Alice carried her into the car and secured her in the safety seat.

"Mr. Crawford, thank you for everything today." Alice were excited.

"Take care," Byron replied.

Mia had talked to Byron about many things today.

Their topics included how Alice protected her from a dog and got bitten herself.

"I will!" Alice nodded.

"Can you give me the number of Mia's mother?" Byron asked after a moment of hesitation.

"Ah?" Alice paused for a moment, then quickly waved her hands. "I'm sorry."

Byron frowned. "Does she know that I am the CEO of Imbe Group?"

"Yes." Alice nodded.

Byron was stunned.

So many people were trying to curry favor with him and rise to the top.

It was surprising that Mia's mother didn't want to take the chance to associate with him.

"Mr. Crawford, see you." Alice finished speaking and got into the car.

The car door closed.

Byron heard Mia's cries.

He was distressed.

He wanted to stop the car and bring her back.

But...

Mia was not his child, and he had no right to do that.

This was the second time Athena witnessed the separation of Byron and Mia.

Not much time had passed.

But Byron became more and more reluctant.
