Chapter 596 Growing Up with You

"Mia, where did you go? Aiden just asked Madam Stella about you." Athena reached out to Mia.

Mia walked over and held her hand, but her gaze was fixed on Aiden.

Then she let go of Athena's hand and walked up to Aiden. "Aiden, don't be afraid. I'll protect you!" Hearing that, Athena quickly turned away, surprised. Tears uncontrollably streamed down her face.

Aiden's dim eyes lit up as soon as he heard Mia's words.

"Okay," he replied.

"I promise," Mia said, resolute and solemn.

At that moment, George came in from outside.

He happened to hear Mia's promise.

He looked at Athena, who had her back turned to him, and picked up Mia. "Mia, you've really grown up. You can protect your brother now!"

Mia looked at George and touched the dark circles under his eyes. She didn't say anything, but the distressed look on her face showed how worried she was about him. George was deeply moved in his heart.

He gently touched Mia's nose with his in response to her silent concern, and then he tenderly said, "Mia, Aiden is very tired and needs rest. Your mommy and I need to talk about something. Can you stay here and accompany Aiden?"

"Yes!" Mia nodded immediately.

George put her down.

Athena quickly wiped away her tears and calmed herself down.

She turned around and left the ward with George.

When the door was closed, Mia took a few steps forward and leaned over Aiden's hospital bed. "Aiden, don't be afraid. Uncle brought in some excellent doctors. Byron is also very concerned about you. The best doctors from all over the world will come to your side, and you'll get better soon."

"You called Byron?" Aiden asked.

"Hmm." Mia lowered her head. "I was so scared."

Aiden nodded.

Then he softly said, "Don't be afraid. I'll grow up with you."

Mia, with tears in her eyes, nodded vigorously.

Aiden was really exhausted.

He hadn't been able to sleep just now because Mia was missing.

Now that Mia was back, he closed his eyes in relief.

Before falling asleep, he suddenly wondered if Byron was worried about him and if Byron would come to save him.

After Aiden fell asleep, Mia stayed by his bedside.

George took Athena to talk with the experts.

The meeting lasted for about two hours.

Aiden's condition was not improving.

Conservative treatment was not suitable, and he needed a bone marrow transplant.

After the meeting ended, Athena was about to return to the ward to be with Aiden.

But George held her back. "The weather is nice today. The camellias in the hospital garden are in full bloom. Let's go for a walk."

"I'm not..."

Before Athena could finish her sentence, George grabbed her wrist and led her outside.

Athena wanted to shake his hand off, but she dismissed it as she caught a glimpse of the scar on George's wrist.

It was indeed sunny outside.

As Athena walked under the sun, her mood improved a lot.

"The last time I came to inspect, a client told me that the desserts and coffee at the hospital's sweet shop were really good. I tried them, and... I swear it can match some top-rated restaurants. Do you believe me?" George asked Athena.

Athena nodded. "You're a picky eater. If you say it's delicious, then it must be."

Just as she finished speaking, George put his hands on her shoulders and sat her down on the bench.
