Chapter 60 Why Didn't You Tell Me

"You let Heather answer Athena's call?" Gideon raised his

voice in disbelief. "You know how much she cares..."

"Shut up! Shut up!"

Byron grabbed Gideon by the collar and slammed him into a

row of bookshelves.

Gideon grunted in pain.

He drank too much last night.

Before he woke up in the morning, Matt rushed over in a

hurry.

He told Gideon what had happened to Athena last night.

After learning about those details, Gideon almost went crazy.

He called Athena, but Athena's phone was turned off.

He ran to the hospital, but Athena had already left.

What Matt had described was too risky to even think about it.

Gideon was terribly frightened, so he returned to Girard City

in despair.

However, he didn't expect that Byron actually knew nothing

about this!

Athena worked for Byron and was almost killed.

But Byron didn't even know about it!

Gideon pushed Byron away, straightened his crumpled

clothes, and said to Byron with a contemptuous attitude, "Mr. Crawford, congratulations on your upcoming wedding. I won't bother you anymore. I'll go replace Athena. Whether she's injured or disabled, I will take care of her for the rest of her life!"

Then, Gideon turned around to leave.

But Byron grabbed him and knocked him to the ground.

"It's not your turn!"

Byron said coldly.

Then, he went straight out of the Office of the President.

Outside, the employees didn't even dare to breathe.

However, there were always some exceptions. "Byron!"

Ruby took the opportunity and ran toward Byron

pretentiously.

"Did Athena do something to offend you again? You're engaged, so she must be in a bad mood. You..."

"Fuck off!"

Before Ruby could finish her pretentious words, Byron scolded her fiercely.

Ruby shivered in fright.

"Go to the personnel department to get your salary and leave this company!"

With that, Byron left the company mercilessly.

Even though Ruby looked almost identical to Freya, she couldn't ease Byron's rage.

Byron went directly to the underground parking lot, where Athena's car was parked. Byron looked at her car.

The sorrowful pictures on Athena's Instagram kept replaying in his mind.

Her grandmother actually passed away half a year ago.

That was Athena's only family.

Byron couldn't even imagine what was on Athena's mind when

she stayed by his side for more than half a year.

But why didn't her tell him about her grandmother's death?

Why?

Byron started the car and went straight to Athena's

apartment.

The house had two apartments that shared the same elevator

and a corridor.

Byron hadn't come for more than a month.

After knowing that he would marry Heather, he never came here again.

At first, he didn't want to keep Athena around.

He also didn't feel that he couldn't live without her.

Therefore, Byron started to distance himself from her.

But soon, he realized that without Athena by his side, everything he did never went smoothly.

He hadn't made a decision until he came back from his

business trip that day.

Byron was determined to spend more money to keep her

around.

However, he never expected her to reject his offer.

Byron stood at the door and rang the bell.

Then, he silently counted to three.

In the past, Athena would definitely open the door within three seconds and hug him with a bright smile.

But today, the door remained closed.

The panic in Byron's heart became even stronger.

He unlocked the door immediately with his fingerprint.

Then, he pushed it open.

The apartment was empty.

And everything related to Athena was all gone.

All the stuff that could represent her existence had disappeared.

Only Byron's shoes lay neatly beside the hallway as if

immersing in endless loneliness.
