My Second Chance Alpha Mate
Chapter 17

(Gabriel)

I shifted to my wolf Shadow and followed her. I watched as she put her bike in the back before going into the diner only to come out a few minutes later without her bag. She starts to jog but soon after she is running as fast as she can through the forest. I can smell the saltiness of her tears which makes Shadow whimper. Her legs give out and she falls to the ground clutching her chest. I knew that the bond was affecting her. I just never thought it would affect her this much. Shadow pushes forward, pushing me back and start walking towards her. I watched as her hand goes out and she mouths ‘Stop, don’t hurt me’. Shadow whimpers before touching her hand with his nose making her gasp at the sparks. He lays down curling his body around hers. She scoots closer to us as her body shakes with a silent sob.

After a while her breathing and heartbeat evens out and I know she cried herself to sleep.

‘Mate is hurting. We need to mark her. Let her know she’s ours and we are hers’ Shadow says. I shift back to my human form and look around for a marked tree. To a human a marked tree would look normal but to us is where we hide things. I found a tree and pull out a pair of basketball shorts. I quickly put them on and look around. She had run into rogue territory. I needed to get her out of here as soon as possible. I picked her up and begin to walk back to her grandmother’s house.

I finally arrived at her grandma’s house and saw Jeffrey outside. When he saw me carrying Yashira his eyes widen before he rushed to us.

“Alpha is she okay?” he asked.

“She’s fine. She’s just exhausted” I tell him as she snuggles closer hiding her face from the sunlight.

“Please follow me, I’ll show you to her room” Jeffrey led the way to her room, and I laid her on the bed. I took off her shoes as Jeffrey went to get her a bottle of water for when she woke up. I took this chance to take off her pants and cover her.

After Jeffrey gave me the bottle of water I stayed in her room and waited for her to wake up. Jeffrey brought me a plate of food with a chocolate shake. A few hours later Yashira stirred before opening her eyes. She sat up rubbing her temples.

“How are you feeling?” I asked her. Her head snapped towards me before closing her eyes and shaking her head almost as if she thought she was dreaming. She opened her eyes and looked back at me.

‘Gabriel, why are you here? Wait, how did I get here?’ she asks.

“I brought you here. You cried yourself to sleep in the forest. Shadow and I were not going to leave you there” I tell her. She looks away a little embarrassed.

“There’s no need to be embarrassed” I tell her. She looks at me before looking away again. She goes to stand up, but her legs give out. I caught her before she hit the ground.

“You still need rest. I’ll leave if you want. I just wanted to make sure you were okay before I left” I tell her helping her back on the bed. When she doesn’t look at me, I hear Shadow whimper and I take a few steps back from her.

‘Thank you for bringing me back and thank you for staying to see if I was okay’ she signs.

“You don’t need to thank me” I say walking towards her. She looks up at me, as I sit down next to her and run my hand up and down her a thigh and I watch as she shudders.

“Will you go out to dinner with me?” I asked her.

‘You have a mate’ she signs.

“Ashley is not my mate. I haven’t chosen her as my mate” I assured her.

“Please?” I pleaded making her sigh.

‘Okay, I’ll go to dinner with you’ she signs, and I can’t help but grin.

“Awesome. I will pick you up tomorrow night at seven” I tell her excitedly and lean forwards capturing her full pouty lips. I pull back seeing her eyes were still closed with a cute blush on her cheeks.

“Rast some more, you need it” I tell her and leave the room with a promise to see her tomorrow for our date.

“Answer me rogue! Why are rogues working with hunters?” I growled. After the rogues attacked two days ago, we captured one and found out that the rogues are working with hunters. We haven’t seen rogues around here after Lacey was killed by hunters and we killed them. They killed her because of who she was. The Moon Goddess and the Vampire God’s granddaughter. When the hunters shot her, she was still pregnant with Tristan. I had to cut Tristan out of her before the silver and wolfsbane got in his system. When the autopsy was done Maggie found out that the amount of silver and wolfsbane in her system was enough to kill one fourth of my pack members or ten full grown Alphas. It was a miracle that Tristan was not harmed. Were they back to finish the job?

“You should just kill me because you are not going to get anything out of me, pup” the rogue spat the last word. I growled at him at the disrespect.

“He’s the Alpha of this pack, rogue, and if you’re not going to answer then we have no use for you, rogue” I heard a very familiar voice coming from behind me. I turn to see my father walking towards us. He placed a hand on my shoulder before wrapping his hand around the rogue’s throat. The rogue gasped for air and his eyes went to me.

“Are you sure you don’t want to talk?” I asked. He closed his eyes and soon I heard a c***k, and I knew the rogue was dead. I had been at it with this rogue for hours and he never cracked.

“Nice to have you back dad. How was Italy?” I asked him.

“It was good. Your mom had a lot of fun. She liked it so much she wanted to stay a little longer” dad chuckled.

“I’m glad dad. By the way Jake and Sara went grocery shopping and stocked up the kitchen for you guys” I told him as we walked out of the cells.

“Thank you, son. I knew we were going to be exhausted by the time we got back home” dad said. I nodded in understanding. As we walked inside, I can hear my son Tristan talking.

“I think she like daddy” Tristan says lowly, but I heard him loud and clear.

“Oh really? And how do you know this?” mom asks.

“She tuwns wed when she sees daddy” Tristan giggles and mom laughs. Dad looks at me and I shake my head walking in the recreation room.

“Hi mom. It’s good to have you back home” I said giving her a k**s on the cheek.

“It’s good to be home son. So, who is this woman my grandson is talking about?” mom asks arching an eyebrow.

“She’s Lita’s granddaughter. She’s very sweet, smart, and caring” I tell them.

“I see” mom says making me look at her. Mom and dad were looking at me with a smile on their faces.

“What?” I asked.

“If I’m not mistaken, I believe you like her too” dad says.

“I haven’t seen you smile like that in a long-time son. I’m glad that you finally like someone” mom says.

“Twistan let’s go pway” mason another pack pup says. Tristan gets up and runs out the door.

“Mom, dad… she’s my second chance mate” I tell them as soon as Tristan left. My parents’ eyes widen at that before a huge smile made its way to their faces.

“Why isn’t she here with you where she belongs?” mom asks.

“At first I tried to push her away, but somehow she wormed herself more into my heart” I admitted.

“Why would you push her away?” mom asked in disbelief.

“Because she’s human” I tell them sitting down on the recliner and hang my head in shame. The fact that I was blessed with a second chance mate is rare and I should’ve been thankful instead of pushing her away.

“Oh son” dad said placing a hand on my shoulder “what happened to Lacey was because of hunters. Just because this girl is human doesn’t that, she had anything to do with what happened. Remember that second chance mates are extremely rare. Don’t let this precious gift from the moon goddess go to waste” dad says.

“I know dad” I said looking down at my hands “I have my first date with her in a couple of hours which I need to get ready for.”

“Go ahead son. We’ll watch Tristan. You go and have fun with your mate” mom kissed my forehead and dad patted my back before walking out of the house. I went upstairs and took a shower and shaved my face making sure it was nice and clean. After I was done, I went to my closet grabbing a pair of black slacks, a royal blue long sleeve button down shirt, and black dress shoes. I rushed my hair before running my hands through it a few times. I looked at myself in the mirror making sure I was good to go.

I grabbed my wallet, phone and keys and headed out the door to go pick up my mate. I had already made the reservation for the best restaurant and also, I got us a hotel. After made a quick stop at a flower shop, I finally pulled up to my mate’s house. I got out and grabbed the roses. I took a deep breath and knocked on the door. I sniffed the air making sure everything around was good. I caught the faint smell of Jake and Sara. The door opened and Lita looked at me.

“Alpha Gabriel” she bowed her head in respect.

“Hello Lita. How are you?” I asked with a smile.

“I’m good. Please come in. Yashira should be down any minute” she said stepping to the side. I walked in and looked at her only to see her look around outside before closing the door.

“Is everything okay Lita?” I asked.

“Yes, Alpha. Just looking. You can never be too careful now a days” she says. I hear movement upstairs and I see Yashira coming down the stairs. She was wearing a black and royal blue dress that hugged her body perfectly. Her hair hung loose in tight curls. Her makeup was light with just a blue smoky eyeshadow, eyeliner, and l*p gloss. For shoes she wore sexy black pumps, and she had a black clutch.

“Wow” I whispered. She looked at me with a blush before looking at her grandma.

“You look breathtaking” I said truthfully.

‘Thank you. You look very handsome yourself’ she said with a blush.

“These are for you” I said giving her the roses.

‘Thank you. They are beautiful’ she brought the roses to her nose and took a deep breath.

“I can put those in water for you” Lita said taking the roses.

“You two have fun” Lita k****s Yashira on the cheek.

‘Bendicion’ she signed.

“Dios te bendiga” Lita said taping Yashira’s forehead, followed by her belly, then her right shoulder, then her left shoulder, and lastly Yashira kissed the fingers Lita used to touch these places.

‘Amen’ Yashira mouthed. Lita looked at me and bowed before leaving to goddess knows where. I opened the door for her, and we both walked out to my car. I opened the door for her and helped her sit. I then ran around the car and got in.

“What does ‘bendicion’ means?” I asked as I drove away from Lita’s house.

‘It’s like me asking my grandma to bless me. It’s something that a lot of Hispanic people do, and I have been saying it since I learned to talk. We say bless me and the other person which is usually the person’s family member or an older person they say god bless you… in your case goddess bless you and we say amen’ she signs.

“Oh ok” I smiled at her because I liked that.

‘How was your day today?’ she signs.

“It was good. My parents just got back from Italy. They are watching Tristan tonight” I tell her.

‘Italy? Wow that’s awesome’ she signed excitedly.

“Have you ever been to Italy?” I asked.

‘No, I never left Puerto Rico until I came here’ she signs. I know how she felt about losing her parents. I don’t know what I would do if I were to lose my parents especially after losing Lacey. I pulled up to the restaurant. I got out and opened the door for Yashira. I extended my hand and helped her out. She mouthed a thank you and I wrapped my arm around her waist as we walked inside the restaurant.

“Good evening. Do you have a reservation?” the hostess asks.

“Yes, Grabriel Knight” I told her. She looks at the papers in her hands.

“Yes, sir. Right this way please” she purred but I ignored her. She walked us to our table. I pulled out the chair for my mate then I took a seat.

“Your waiter will be with you in a few minutes” she said placing the menus in front of us but leaned in a little too close to me. Yashira noticed this and I saw her eyes flash dangerously and the lights in the restaurant flicker making the hostess look around nervously. I grabbed Yashira’s hand rubbing small circles on her palm calming her down. Yashira smiles at me before looking at the menu and I watch as she becomes a little confused.

“Are you alright?” I asked her.

‘I don’t know what half of these stuff are’ she signed, and I couldn’t help but chuckle.

“Would you like me to order for you?” I asked her.

‘Please’ she signed closing the menu. After I ordered for us, I took her hand. We made light conversation as we ate our dinner.

‘Why were your parents in Italy?’ she signed.

“They went for a second honeymoon. After I became Alpha, they started talking about visiting different places because when they were Alpha and Luna if they visited a place, it was for business only before coming back to the pack” I tell her.

‘That awesome’ she signed.

“Yeah” I smiled.

“Thank you for the invitation for your grandma’s birthday party. I saw that Hawaii is the theme” I tell her.

‘Yes, grandma always wanted to go to Hawaii so I decided that I should do this Hawaiian style’ she signs, and I just got the perfect gift to give to Lita. After dinner I got us a variety of desserts, I wanted her to try. I got some of the chocolate cake and brought it to her lips. She opens her mouth and takes the cake. She closed her eyes, and I had a feeling that is she could talk I knew she would m**n.

‘That is so good’ she signed. I leaned in closer to her ear and whispered, “I bet this cake would taste better on your body” I watched as her neck, cheeks, and the tips of her ears turned red.

“I’m going to take some of this cake for later” I tell her. Once we finished with our dinner I paid, and we left. If you’re wondering I took two pieces of the cake to go. I pulled up to the hotel and I saw the confused look on her face.

“I want us to spend some time together” I tell her making her smile shyly at me. After everything we had done, she still smiled shyly. I took her hand and we walked inside hand in hand. A few of the employees bowed their heads in respect knowing I’m an Alpha. I hit the penthouse button on the elevator. I pulled Yashira towards me burring my nose on the crook of her neck.

‘Mark mate. I want to mark mate’ Shadow purrs. I feel her run a delicate hand through my hair. The elevator dinged and I picked her up bridal style making her wrap her arms around my neck. I walk in the penthouse and watch as her eyes widen.

“Would you like to take a look around?” I asked her and she nods eagerly.

“Go ahead baby” I said putting her down, but before she could leave, I stole a k**s from her. I walked behind her as she looks around. I could tell by the smile on her face how much she liked this place. She stopped by the hot tub and looked back at me with wide eyes only to be replaced by mischief. She then walked to the balcony where you could see the whole city.

‘This place is beautiful, Gabriel. Thank you for bringing me here’ she signed.

“Anything for you” I said huskily kissing her neck. She tilted her neck to the side giving me better access to her neck. I love how her body responded to me. I reached behind her and slowly unzipped her dress letting it fall in a pool around her feet. I pulled back to see she was only in her thong. The moon shone down on her giving her this… glow and I growled in approval. I took her hand walking her back inside the master bedroom. I brought my lips towards her and kissed her. She wrapped her arms around my neck deepening the k**s. After I broke the k**s, I looked at her in her eyes.

“Do you trust me?” I asked her. She looked deep into my eyes and nodded her head. I smiled and got off the bed. I went into a bag I had brought earlier before our date. I got out five of my ties. I turned to her and began tie her ankles the bed. I can hear her heart be quicken as she watched me. I then tied her wrist to the bed. The last tie is to cover her eyes. As if knowing what I was going to do with the last tie her head went up slightly and I covered her eyes gently tying it behind her head. I got off the bed taking in the sight of her. I growled again making her body shudder. I grabbed my phone and took a picture or two of her.
