Never Late, Never Away Chapter 2648
Larry Or Jessica
Suddenly, Caspian's phone rang.
"Where are you?" the woman on the other end of line drawled lazily.
"I'm outside. What's the matter?" he asked.
"Can you come pick me up?" Jessica requested. "I think I'm drunk."
Caspian's eyes darkened in fury.
Why did she go drinking again? Didn't I tell her not to drink outside?
"I'm busy. Hail a cab home yourself," he replied curtly and was about to hang up.
"Wait!" Jessica seemed distressed. "Hurry, come pick me up. I think someone spiked my drink." Caspian was astounded to hear that.
He had to choose between Larry, his boss, and Jessica, his beloved. What would his choice be?
"Caspian, why are you hesitating? Damn it, come pick me up now! Otherwise, I shall cheat on you!" Jessica declared while scratching her collarbone impatiently. "I'll ask Jasper to pick you up!" he hung up abruptly and proceeded to call Jasper.
"Hey, can you bring Jessica home? She's drunk..."
Soon, Larry arrived at the designated location. "Hey, come out! I'm Larry Norton!" he yelled outside the warehouse while scanning his surroundings carefully. The men in the warehouse put their guard up when they heard his voice.
"Boss, Mr. Norton is here," one of the young kidnappers whispered.
"I heard him. Let's stay put."
Della wanted to yell out loud to attract Larry's attention, but her mouth was sealed.
As no one responded, Larry grew increasingly anxious.
Did I come to the wrong location? He pulled his phone out and gave them a call. Ring! Ring!
He immediately detected the ringtone coming from a nearby warehouse.
"Damn it!" the kidnapper cursed and switched his phone off.
Larry had a sharp hearing and immediately realized where it came from.
"I'm here, so why are you hesitating? Don't you want the one million?" he shouted in the direction of the warehouse.
What a sly fox. Is he trying to lure us out? The leader was smoking as panic flitted across his face.
"Boss, we need to go out now. Otherwise, our efforts would be in vain!" The other young man shoved his arm.
"I know. Stop pushing me!" The leader rose to his feet and stepped out of the dilapidated warehouse.
"Hello, Mr. Norton. How have you been?"
Upon spotting the kidnappers, Larry's lips curved up in a satisfied smirk.
I thought they are difficult to deal with, but turns out they are just thugs.
"Here is one million. Before you take it, release her first," Larry cut to the chase.
He made his intentions clear for he was here to rescue Della.
"There's no rush, Mr. Norton. You're a wealthy businessman, so one million is nothing to you. But Ms. Duff is worth more than you," the kidnapper said. What does he mean? Is he trying to raise the price shamelessly? Larry studied the person in front of him warily.
"I don't want much. Why don't you give your car to me?"
He's so greedy! Larry turned to look at his car before he nodded reluctantly.
"Alright, it's a deal. My men would like to get in the car first!"
"Sure, no problem." Larry shrugged nonchalantly.
Soon, two men walked out of the warehouse.
"Boss," the young man greeted his leader.
"Get in the car!" the leader ordered, pointing at Larry's car parked ahead.
"Wait a minute!" Larry called out.
The three kidnappers froze in their tracks at once.
