Elisa pressed her lips and remained silent.

In the past, Gareth didn’t believe what Nelson said, so he disregarded the recording. But after all the happenings,

he would naturally suspect something about the family.

Elisa pressed her lips and remained silent.

In the past, Gareth didn’t believe what Nelson said, so he disregarded the recording. But after all the happenings,

he would naturally suspect something about the family.

Gareth gazed at Elisa, who gradually calmed down and uttered in a rarely gentle tone, “I’ll help you seek revenge

against Norman and his family.”

Elisa lifted her eyes to look at him and mumbled, “Provided that I get back together with you. Am I right?”

Gareth did not respond as he felt it was inappropriate. Nonetheless, he couldn’t bring himself to retort to Elisa.

Elisa sneered. “It’s okay. I want to handle the Benett family’s affair on my own.”

Will had offered to help her but was rejected as well.

She wanted to gradually destroy her enemies by herself so that they received the retribution they deserved.

Furrowing his brows, Gareth didn’t know Elisa’s intention and thought she was still resisting him.

Nevertheless, he pressed his lips, turned away, and said nothing when he saw Elisa still trying to control her

emotions forcefully with tears streaming down her face.

Then, he stood up and hummed, “Please stay here and rest tonight.”

Elisa lifted her head to stare at him with her eyes filled with perplexity.

I’ve already made myself very clear. Why is he still asking me to stay? He’s always an arrogant man, but why did he

repeatedly talk to me in a caring manner today? How many benefits can he garner by marrying me again that he’s

willing to behave in such a servile manner?

In fact, his behavior might still be considered arrogant for one who was gentle. However, given Gareth’s

temperament, he was already putting aside his dignity.

In fact, he wouldn’t have done all this, given his arrogance.

Elisa wiped away her tears calmly and remained quiet. She reckoned Gareth would leave soon, even if he asked her

to stay. So, she didn’t intend to argue with him.

“Can you send me my father’s recording?”

Gareth frowned. Initially, he didn’t want Elisa to keep the recording because it would only add to her worry.

However, Nelson was her closest kin after all, so Gareth decided to send the recording to her after thinking about it.

Upon receiving the recording via her phone, Elisa saved the document carefully.

Then, she lifted her head to look at Gareth. “Did you meet my father on the day he passed you the recording?”

Gareth paused for a second before nodding.

“Can you tell me what happened that day?”

Gareth pressed his lips and slowly told her about the details of that day patiently.

Nelson was leaning against the ward bed’s headboard in the hospital when the door was pushed open.

Nelson lifted his head and wore an amiable smile. “Hey, Gareth.”

Gareth strode in with a cold face and stared at the man whose hair had turned gray despite being in his forties.

“What is it?” He asked indifferently.

Nelson put on a rueful smile and muttered, “Look at my current health condition. You should know that I’m very

much on the edge of death.”

At that time, Elisa was not around because she went on a business trip, so she wasn’t aware of her father’s critical

condition.

Besides, Norman and his family kept the news from Elisa lest their plan was disrupted.

As such, Elisa had no idea at all about Nelson’s illness.

“Please don’t tell Elisa about my illness.”

Gareth curled his lips with a frigid look. “Your family affair is none of my business.”
