Gareth came to his senses in an instant and his brows furrowed tightly.

“Nothing.”

He got up after that.

What he needed to do right now was to calm down.

At the next moment, he said in a low voice, “Don’t forget what you promised me.”

Elisa nodded indifferently, “Visit Grandma twenty times. I don’t need you to remind me. I’ll do it.”

Gareth didn’t say a word as he walked out.

It was as though Elisa was used to his hurried coming and going. When she heard the door shut, she got up and

stretched.

She picked up her cell phone and took a shower before returning to her bedroom and laying down.

Seeing Norman send messages ceaselessly on the back end, Elisa blocked him.

Asking for two billion was cutting him some slack.

But… this wasn’t the end. This was only for the time being. She would get back twice as much in the future. She

wouldn’t let the family get their way.

As for Norman…

He couldn’t sleep at all!

He had been up the whole night and lost two billion for nothing!

He couldn’t accept it!

He really couldn’t accept it!!

“Norman, are you going to let me in?!”

Rose was still punching and kicking the door on the outside. Norman was anxious, but he knew that the woman

wouldn’t leave him alone if he didn’t open the door. He locked his cell phone and took a deep breath in before he

opened the door while restraining his anger.

Rose rushed in to look for Norman’s cell phone, but he looked at her coldly. “Stop looking for it! I’ve locked it, and

you can’t open it!”

“Norman Benett!” Rose was in a towering rage. “Are you crazy? You’re not replaceing fault with her even though she

didn’t accomplish it. Can’t you just ask for your money back?”

“No!” Norman held his breath and finally said what he had been unwilling to say. “In the beginning, she told me that

it was non-refundable if she failed.”

Rose was confounded.

She had a nasty expression on her face.

A wave of anger suddenly ignited. She swung her arm and slapped Norman’s neck. “If she said such a thing in the

beginning, how did you have the nerve to let her do it? How stupid can you get, Norman Benett!”

“Enough! How would I have known in the beginning that such a situation would occur? They’re used to having such

methods, so I just thought that they were just guarding against the unexpected.”

“Isn’t what’s happening the unexpected? They failed, and since they didn’t guarantee anything, it means that they

couldn’t do it. You… you! How did I marry such a nitwit?!”

“Scram! Get lost! Do you think that this is the ending that I wanted?” Norman gritted his teeth.

He bore a grudge against Black-Eyed Susan.

But…

What was the use of a grudge? That was all he could do. He couldn’t do anything to her.

He didn’t have the nerve to offend her with her abilities. She could crack him in mere minutes.

What else could he do?

At that moment, Norman suddenly felt both mentally and physically exhausted. He had lost all his capital in the

blink of an eye, and his position at the company wasn’t secure. If Black-Eyed Susan had failed, Wickam Group must

be investigating who had cracked their security. If they were more skilled than Black-Eyed Susan, wouldn’t they replace

out that he was the one behind the scenes?

In an instant!

Norman’s face was covered in a cold sweat. What should he do?

The pit of his stomach trembled uncontrollably, and there was an indescribable panic in his heart. He was done for

this time!

As for the person in question that Norman was so fearful of, he was sitting on his bed. Norman was at the back of

his mind.
