Jonas glanced at Lenora with affection. "She was my neighbor when we were kids. Always a crybaby." "Childhood sweethearts, huh? That's sweet. Let me know if things get serious between you two."

"Mr. Chance. Nora and 1 are just friends," Jonas clarified

He knew he had to tread carefully since Lenora now hal a boyfriend.

"I get it, I get it. You young folks prefer calling yourselves just friends," Avery added.

Zachary, seated nearby, cast a glance in their direction, his expression cool and distant. His brow furrowed slightly as he watched them together, and his thoughts grew heavy. I warned her to stay away from Jonas. Why won't she listen? Is she really that taken with him? "Zack."

"Zack?"

"Yes? What did you say?" Zachary came back to his senses and looked at Susanna.

Susanna's eyes darkened momentarily as she leaned in to whisper in Zachary's ear. "Don't you think Nora and Jonas make a good pair? If you two were to divorce, it'll be nice to see if she ends up with Jonas."

Zachary shook his head without hesitation. "No. They're not right for each other."

"What makes you say so?"

"I can tell from the way they work and their personalities."

Watching Zachary and Susanna whispering so closely, Lenora felt a tinge of bitterness in her chest. She lowered her gaze, trying to hide the emotions swirling inside her.

Soon, the waiter began serving dish after dish, quickly filling the table.

Everyone relaxed, dropping formalities, and started eating.

Jonas first added a piece of beignet to Lenora's plate. "Try this."

"Thank you."

Taking a bite, Lenora found it delightfully crunchy, with a hint of caramel flavor. "Not bad."

After finishing the beignet, she finally reached for her fork..

Jonas kept an attentive eye on Leñora, occasionally placing food on her plate.

Meanwhile, Zachary observed their interaction, his expression growing darker by the moment.

"Zack, could you help me with that? I can't quite reach it." Susanna said, a flicker of shadow passing through her gaze.

Chapter 88 Keep Quiet

It was the second time she'd caught him lost in thought

"Sure," Zachary replied without hesitation. "Just let me know if you need more."

He kept up his attentiveness toward Susanna, refilling her plate whenever she finished a dish.

Watching his considerate gestures, Lenora let out a quiet, self-deprecating laugh.

Halfway through the meal, Lenora excused herself, saying she needed a quick trip to the restroom.

The men's and women's restrooms were side by side, with a shared hand-washing station between them. The space was divided into wet and dry areas, offering an organized flow for guests.

After using the restroom, Lenora stepped out, washed her hands, and quickly touched up her makeup in front of the mirror.

Just as she slipped her cushion foundation back into her bag, Zachary entered from the hallway. He quietly approached, standing behind her. Without a word, he stretched his arms forward, resting them on the sink counter, trapping her in the narrow space between his arms.

Startled, Lenora looked at his reflection in the mirror. "What are you doing?"

I want to talk to you."

Lenora wasn't in the mood to engage. "I'm going back now."

Before she could take a step, Zachary bent down and captured her lips in a sudden, possessive kiss. His large hand wrapped firmly around her waist, pulling her against the washbasin as their mouths fused, tongues tangling in a heated exchange. He didn't even know why he was doing this.

He had come intending to see Susanna, but his eyes had been drawn to Lenora the entire night.

Seeing her and Jonas so close together had stirred a restless frustration inside him as if thousands of ants were crawling beneath his skin.

Perhaps it was because she had brushed off his warning about Jonas. That disregard gnawed at him, leaving him more upset than he wanted to admit.

Lenora pressed against his chest, trying to push him away. "Stop it. I need to go back."

Zachary's brows furrowed, and instead of letting go, his grip around her tightened. One hand slid to cradle the back of her head, and he kissed her even deeper, his tongue exploring her mouth with deliberate intensity.

By the time he finally let her go, Lenora was breathless, her lips red and swollen.

She shot him an irritated glare, turning toward the mirror to check her reflection. The evidence of his kiss was undeniable-her lips looked nothing like before.

Zachary chuckled, wrapping his arms around her waist from behind. His chin rested against her temple as he admired their reflection. With a teasing grin, he tapped her lips lightly with his finger. "You look good like this too."

"Let go of me. I need to go back."

"Go back? Go back and play lovey-dovey with Jonas?" Zachary's voice was low, edged with irritation. "Lenora, I've warned you before. You two aren't a good match."

Lenora knitted her brows, What lovey-dovey?

Lenora's eyes narrowed. "Who are you to say that about me and Jonas? Aren't you doing the same thing

with Susanna?"

"It's different.

With an icy smirk, Lenora retorted, "What's so different about it? Didn't you come to see Susanna?"

"I knew you'd be here."

The housekeeper had told him she would come to see Jonas. He'd planned to fetch her himself; Susanna's call had just given him the perfect excuse.

Zachary grasped Lenora's chin, turning her head halfway toward him. His lips descended on hers again, claiming her with raw intensity.

His other hand trailed down her body, his fingers caressing her through the thin fabric of her dress.

Unable to resist, Lenora found herself leaning into his chest for support.

The tips of her fingers brushed against the warmth of his skin and then encountered something damp.

Zachary's lips curved into a mischievous grin as he guided Lenora further into the stall. "Let me help you

"No... no..." Lenora's face burned with embarrassment. This is too much. How could you do this in broad daylight?

He tilted his head, amused by her flustered state. "Shush."

With one arm braced against the door, he trapped her between him and the cool surface. His hot breath grazed her neck, sending a wave of heat through her. "B-But there are still people waiting for us in the private room..."

"They can wait."

Zachary silenced her with his presence, brushing his lips along her ear and making her tremble, Lenora squeezed her eyes shut, biting her lip to stifle any sound that might escape. Despite her resistance, a quiet moan slipped through, and her body betrayed her with a shiver she couldn't

suppress.

"Done." Zachary stepped back, releasing her at last. "You can leave now."

Lenora sagged against the door, her legs weak and unsteady. She took a deep breath, trying to collect herself, and finally pushed the door open, stepping out of the stall.

Zachary, drying his hands with a paper towel, glanced at Lenora's retreating figure.

Meanwhile, Lenora rushed back into the private room, her face still warm with embarrassment.

Jonas asked, puzzled, "Why were you gone for so long?"

"I'm feeling a bit under the weather. Lenora reluctantly lied.

"Do you feel unwell? Should we perhaps visit the hospital?"

"I'm fine. I was just feeling a little unwell earlier."

Susanna closed her eyes, recalling the scene she had just witnessed. She had gone to the restroom searching for Zachary, only to stumble upon something that ignited a storm of fury within her. Nevertheless, at that point, she had to maintain a composed demeanor.

Susanna, recalling what she had just witnessed in the restroom, clenched her fists tightly, her nails digging into her flesh. With a half-smiling expression, she asked, "Nora, what happened to your lips? Bitten by a mosquito."

Avery chimed in, "Once the weather gets colder, there won't be any mosquitoes anymore."

"I hope so."

At that moment, Zachary returned from outside and took his seat. "Apologies, I ran into an acquaintance and stopped to chat for a bit."

"I see," Avery replied. "Well, it's normal for us to exchange pleasantries when we bump into someone."

Lenora tugged at the corner of her mouth, casting a glance at him. The excuse he made was far more sophisticated than her simple complaint of feeling unwell.

Suddenly, Lenora's body stiffened. Subtly, she glanced under the table and noticed Zachary was brushing his shoe against her calf

Without much thought, Lenora casually moved her legs away.

Seconds later, the tip of a somewhat chilly leather shoe brushed against her calf again,

Above the table, Zachary continued serving Susanna some food. "This is your favorite dish, right? Here you go."

Susanna chuckled. "That's too much; I can't finish it all. Could you help me out?"

Sure."

Lenora shot him a glare..

Yet, Zachary continued to move his shoe upwards under the table.

Lenora couldn't help but question why she hadn't realized Zachary was such a despicable man.

In the throes of discomfort, lunch finally came to an end.

The other four had to return to the film crew.

Susanna clung to Zachary's sleeve, reluctant to let go.

Zachary opened the car door, helping Susanna into the vehicle.
