"I don't think our homeland necessarily suits you. You've only been back a short while and you've already fallen ill several times. Perhaps you'd fare better in a foreign environment."
"No... I came back to our country just for you, Zack. Please don't be like this."
"Let's not talk about this now. Since your injuries are not severe, I'll head back first."
Susanna was still holding onto him, unwilling to let him go.
As she lifted her gaze, it met Zachary's. A shiver ran through her body and involuntarily, her hand released its grip.
Zachary turned and left the ward.
He then drove back to the company and headed straight for Lenora's office.
The office was empty, with the computer also switched off.
He casually flagged down an employee from MQ, asking, "Where's Ms. Wilkin?"
"I'm not sure, but it seems as though Ms. Wilkin didn't come to work today. She might have taken the day
off.
"All right; I understand," he said.
He then immediately drove home.
"Welcome home, Mr. Fuller," said the housekeeper.
"Where's Mrs. Fuller?" Zachary asked casually as he began to ascend the stairs.
""Mrs. Fuller went on a business trip.
Zachary's steps halted after he heard that. "A business trip?"
"Yes; she went on a business trip with Milly."
Zachary fell silent, slowly making his way to the couch. He sat down, leaning against the backrest, and rubbed his brow with his hand.
He was well aware that Lenora's itinerary for the day had nothing to do with a business trip. As such, he figured she must have brought it forward on purpose. Zachary pulled out his phone and sent a message to Lenora on WhatsApp: Are you on a business trip? When will you be back?
He figured it was highly likely that Lenora wouldn't respond to his message.
Unlock succeeded
As expected, there was no response even after a long while.

After the fourth attempt, all he heard was an automated voice message that said, "The number you are. dialing is currently in a call. Please try again later." Realizing he had been blocked, Zachary immediately called Miles and instructed him to replace out Lenora's itinerary and to arrange his flight and hotel bookings. This matter couldn't be delayed. He had to explain to Lenora as soon as possible.
Dragging it out any longer could truly mean the end between him and Lenora.
Miles returned the call shortly after and said, "Mr. Fuller, Ms. Wilkin has gone on a business trip to Bloudence. Are you sure you want to go there?"
"Yes, I'm sure. Help me book the earliest available flight ticket."
"All right.
Zachary didn't even bother to pack his clothes; he headed straight to the airport.
Lenora had arrived a day early, so there was no work for her today.
After settling into the hotel, she ordered takeout for dinner and didn't leave.
After having dinner, she casually picked out a soap opera to watch on her phone.
She didn't want to let herself have any downtime. Whenever she was idle, her thoughts would drift back to the night before, to how he had left without a backward glance, all for Susanna. She was utterly disappointed.
Milly had also stayed in the hotel the whole time, not venturing out.
He was preparing the materials he would need for the following day.
Suddenly, the ringing of his phone broke the silence. He glanced casually at the screen.
Ah, it's a call from Mr. Fuller. Wait a minute... Mr. Fuller?
His jaw nearly dropped in astonishment.
W-Why would Mr. Fuller possibly be calling me?
Milly picked up the phone, cautiously answering, "H-Hello, Mr. Fuller."
"Which hotel are you guys staying at? What's Ms. Wilkin's room number?" "We're in Bloudence, Mr. Fuller."
"I know."
"Yeah, we're at Sunrise Grand Hotel. Ms. Wilkin's room number is 1508." 2/5

"Got it."
"A-All right, then. Milly didn't know what else to say.
Did Mr. Fuller ask these questions because he wanted to come over?
"Remember, don't tell Lenora that I called you to ask about this."
"I understand. I'll definitely not disclose this to Ms. Wilkin. Do you have any other instructions, Mr. Fuller?"
"That'll be all for now," Zachary said and ended the call.
Milly calmed his emotions and set down his phone, but he found himself unable to focus on his work
anymore.
Virtually all employees at the company had saved Zachary's work number, but it mostly remained untouched in their contact lists.
And now, the most recent call log on his phone clearly displayed the name "Mr. Fuller."
He wasn't dreaming. The call had really came from Zachary, who was asking about their hotel and -Lenora's room number.
Milly recalled a previous instance when they had tried to call Lenora numerous times. After numerous unsuccessful attempts, the call was finally answered, but it was Zachary who answered the phone. Back then, he had suspected that there might've been something going on between Zachary and Lenora.
Adding to the recent rumors circulating around the company, and Zachary's actions today, Milly felt that this possibility had become even greater.
After spending some time on his phone, Milly was just about to head to the bathroom to freshen up when his phone suddenly rang again.
He glanced at his phone screen, noticing once again that the incoming call was from Zachary
He then swiftly answered the call and said, "Hello, Mr. Fuller.
"I've arrived at your hotel. Come out now."
"Huh? Oh, you're downstairs, Mr. Fuller? I'll come down to meet you right away! With that, Milly grabbed the room card and promptly left.
To his surprise, he saw Zachary standing in front of Lenora's room as soon as he stepped outside.
Milly was utterly perplexed. Why did Mr. Fuller summon me if he already got here?
"Mr. Fuller?"
Milly was puzzled. Zachary pointed toward Lenora's room door and said, "Knock on the door, but don't mention anything about me."
That was when a realization suddenly dawned on Milly

He was merely a tool for knocking on doors.
Could it be that Mr. Fuller had come to surprise Ms. Wilkin without her knowledge?
With that in mind, he stepped forward and knocked on Lenora's door.
""Who's there?"

While engrossed in a soap opera, Lenora heard a knock at the door. Rising from the couch with phone in hand, she headed toward the door, calling out as she went.
"It's ine, Ms. Wilkin. There's something I wanted to ask you about."
"Hold on!" Lenora hit pause on the soap opera she was watching, and opened the door. "What's your question-
She was in the middle of her sentence when she spotted Zachary standing outside the door. Her face suddenly changed, her voice abruptly stopped, and she immediately moved to close the door.
Sensing the perfect opportunity, Zachary immediately stepped forward. He wedged his leather shoe in the door gap and braced his arm against the door to prevent her from closing it. "Lenora, I really want to have a serious talk with you!" he said. Lenora mustered all her strength in an attempt to close the door. "There's nothing for us to discuss. Please leave."
Milly stood by, dumbfounded, a look of shock written all over his face.
Turns out, it wasn't the delightful surprise he had imagined, but rather a frightful confrontation.
Once again, Milly was certain that there was definitely something going on between Zachary and Lenora,
Mr. Fuller wants to explain something, but Ms, Wilkin isn't interested in hearing any of his explanations... It seems as though Ms. Wilkin is the dominant one here.
Milly couldn't help but get a little suspicious.
"I absolutely need to clarify things with you."
"I'll call for security if you don't leave now."
Naturally, Lenora's strength couldn't possibly compare to that of a grown man who regularly worked out.
The tug-of-war with the room door ultimately ended in Lenora's defeat.
Zachary pushed open the door, confidently striding in as he said, "Let me explain about that night-"
Lenora shot him a cool, detached look as she cut him off. "There's no need for explanations. Are you leaving or not? If you're not, then I will!"
Having said that, Lenora turned around to pack, busying herself with her suitcase.
"Lenora! What do I have to do for you to listen to my explanation?" Zachary exclaimed while stopping her.

"I don't want to hear your explanations, nor do I need to hear them. What you choose to do is your own business, and I have no right to interfere. But this is my room, and I'd appreciate it if you could leave at once. Otherwise, I'll have to call the police," Lenora said, her voice cold and detached while staring at him. Her gaze was icy and unyielding, and she refused to back down at all.
Milly, who was standing outside the door, had witnessed everything that had transpired.
From what he could perceive, the two had a falling major one at that.

Milly's eyes widened instantly.
What did I just see? I can't believe I just witnessed Ms. Wilkin slapping Mr. Fuller!
Listening to that sound, he could tell there was not a hint of reluctance in her slap. 19:47 Thu, Oct 31 U
