Zachary tilted his head, his eyes shadowy and unclear. He gently touched his bruised left cheek as he mumbled, "Fine, I'll go... I'll go...
And for a moment, Lenora was stunned, frozen in place.
She hadn't intended to hit him, but in her panic, she ended up slapping the jerk.
Zachary took a few steps back, retreated from the room, and turned around to leave.
Milly only registered what was happening when Zachary had already reached the elevator.
He stood there, gazing at Zachary's retreating figure, then shifting his gaze to Lenora inside the room, feeling somewhat at a loss.
Zachary seemed somewhat wronged when he left.
Seeing Lenora look his way, Milly quickly explained, "Ms. Wilkin, it was Mr. Fuller who called me asking for the hotel address and asked me to knock on the door. I couldn't refuse." Lenora gave a nonchalant nod and let out a sigh. "I understand. You should go rest now."
"All right."
After Milly left, Lenora closed the door, but she no longer had the mood to watch her soap opera.
She clearly didn't want to recall the events of the previous night.
However, Zachary insisted on intervening, reminding her that he had turned a blind eye to the humiliation she had suffered at the hands of his friends the day before, abandoning her for Susanna's sake.
She found it amusing that he even wanted to explain himself, to the point of following her to Bloudence just to do so.
What could he possibly explain? All it came down to was his concern for Susanna! He felt compelled to go and check on her himself.
She also yearned for his attention and affection, but he didn't and chose to leave her behind and walk
away.
She had told him, "Zachary, if you walk out that door today, we're finished."
He still chose to leave despite hearing those words, so what else is there to explain? His attitude and actions had already determined everything. After leaving the hotel, Zachary returned to Jacaster overnight, resuming his work routine as he used to.
He forced himself not to think about Lenora.

Her happiness, her pride, her anger, and even her sorrow. All the varied facets of her filled his mind.
The scene from their wedding anniversary night surfaced, and he saw that her eyes were filled with despair and disappointment.

consecutive nights, he dreamt of Lenora whenever he went to bed at night.
The first time, he dreaint of him divorcing Lenora. Lenora was so furious with him that the hatred seeped into her bones. She left for a life abroad and never returned.
For the second time, he dreamt of him divorcing Lenora. Lenora then married Jonas, her face beaming with happiness at their wedding.
He jolted awake from his dream, replaceing it difficult to fall back asleep in the latter part of the night.
This situation was particularly challenging for Miles and the rest of the senior management. These
past couple of days, Zachary had been hot-tempered, going off at anyone he encountered.
An employee from the secretarial department was severely reprimanded by Zachary for a minor mistake. It was as if she had committed a grievous error that offended the entire world. Upon leaving the CEO's office, the expression of the secretarial staff had turned sour.
Normally, Zachary was a very charismatic CEO.
Under normal circumstances, he was gentle and approachable, exuding a natural charm. However, in the business world, he was sharp-eyed and decisive, with a strong and assertive approach.
He seldom went out of his way to make things difficult for his employees.
He was a man who valued the present and the future, disliking when his employees remained fixated on the past. After an employee made a mistake, no matter how innocent their explanation, a solution was always more valuable. As long as the person who made the mistake could rectify it, the punishment was usually minor, serving more as a stern warning.
It could be said that the happiness index of the employees working at Fuller Group was quite high.

Within the company, especially among the employees who frequently interacted with Zachary, there was a palpable sense of unease. They lived in constant fear that one day, they might replace themselves in hot
water.
As per usual, Miles entered Zachary's office to back up the latter's call logs and recorded conversations.
For this very reason, Miles was privy to many of Zachary's secrets.
Zachary handed his phone to Miles.
"I'll go and create a backup now. I'll bring your phone to you shortly."
Miles then left Zachary's office with the latter's phone in hand, heading to his own workstation to create a

Zachary casually responded, his eyes unwaveringly fixed on the computer screen as his fingers rapidly danced across the keyboard. Suddenly, the Bluetooth speaker nearby said,
"Hey, Mr. Fuller, It's me, Jonathan from Oceanic Technologies. You know, about that new energy plan you mentioned earlier...
Zachary furrowed his brows, casting a glance at the Bluetooth speaker.
The content being played was the recording of his previous phone conversation with Jonathan.
He figured his phone must have been connected to the Bluetooth speaker in the office, and Miles had accidentally hit play while making a backup.
Zachary leaned against the back of the chair, massaging his forehead.
The entire office was filled with Jonathan's hearty laughter.
Zachary stood up, intending to turn off the Bluetooth speaker. However, as soon as the current recording finished playing, it automatically switched to the next one.
"Hello." That was Susanna's voice.
"It's me. Where's Zachary?" Lenora's voice came through moments later.
Zachary's finger, poised to switch off the power, paused, allowing the recording to continue playing
"Oh, it's you, Nora. Zack is currently cooking for me. You might not know this, but Zachary's culinary skills are exceptional. During his university years, he lived alone and honed his cooking skills. He often cooked for me."
Zachary slightly furrowed his brows.
Susanna's tone was thick with blatant boasting, which caused him to feel particularly uncomfortable. He even found it hard to believe that these were words spoken by Susanna.
"Hand your phone over to Zachary. I have something to ask him."
"What's the matter? I can help you ask him instead," Susanna said, her tone challenging
Lenora's tone grew stern as she said, "Hand the phone to Zachary! I have something to ask him, and I want to ask him directly! This phone has an automatic recording feature. If you don't want me to play this recording for Zachary, then pass him the phone." Upon hearing this, Zachary let out a chuckle. Lenora is indeed quite clever.
Following that was a silence that lasted for over ten seconds. Just when he thought the recording was about to end, another voice came through.
"Zack, Nora is calling for you."

Zachary heard his own voice say, "Can you hold the phone for me? I'm busy at the moment. Did she mention anything?"
He had already discerned when and where this phone call had taken place. Suddenly, he remembered that it was the day Lenora had a car accident and was in the hospital. He had asked her what she wanted to eat. and she had said she wanted to eat the food he cooked,
Oh. Exec.....
"I asked her just now, but she wouldn't say anything
"Lenora, what's the matter?" Zachary asked.
"Where's my phone, Zachary?"
"It's with me."
"What are you doing with my phone?"
"I accidentally left my phone at the club, so I used your phone to contact someone there to deliver it to me. I was in such a rush when I left that I carelessly brought it with me. I apologize for the inconvenience."
Could you possibly replace someone to return my phone now?"
"I'm afraid not."
"Where are

step out soon,
"Leave the phone by the door."
"There's nothing at the entrance, so it could get stolen.
"Could you hand the phone over to the security guard of Susanna's residential area, then?"
"No can do. I noticed the guard post was empty when I arrived today. I guess the security guard must have taken a leave."
"Is that true?"
"Of course it's true. Why would I lie to you?"
"All right, then. When will you be back?"
"I'm not sure. It depends on the situation."
The recording abruptly skipped to the next segment at this point.
Zachary had turned off the sound system, replaying in his mind Susanna's words that were captured in that recording.
Did Susanna really say all that? Has Susanna really been speaking to Lenora with that attitude behind my back?

Zachary lowered his gaze as the incident from Instagram surfaced in his mind.
There was also the incident of the burn injury.
Ihat if Susanna was indeed two-faced behind my back?
