Chapter 38: He is Melissa's True Destiny

Chapter 38: He is Melissa's True Destiny.

Elliott's POV

My

memories seemed to freeze on the day I saw Melissa in the hospital. I couldn't deny that I still loved her.

After all, we had shared the most important five years of our lives together; we had truly loved each other but were ultimately defeated by fate!

Everything began with that cursed community dinner.

"My life shouldn't have turned out this badly!" I choked back tears as I unfairness of fate.

I recounted the

"I have clearly accepted the fact that Melissa is living in the North, but seeing that she is doing well even without me, I have to admit that it still hurt deeply."

"Alright, bro! We must admit that we are both cowards in the face of fate. His subordinates have already told you that Melissa has a hidden relationship with the dark Alpha, so there's no need to doubt it; this woman has truly changed her heart completely. Elliott, I know. your heart is shattered right now, but you have a new family, with Courteney and a child. Unlike you, Melissa has let go of everything back home. She is strong and resolute, and if the person you had encountered first hadn't been Melissa, you wouldn't be resisting fate. so fiercely." Swan's situation was quite similar to mine, but unlike my inner turmoil, his feelings for Phoebe were not as intense. His current Luna, although destined for him, offered no support in his quest to rule the Pack. As passion faded, he sometimes found himself reminiscing about that innocent and naive Luna. Yet, everything had changed, and he could only cast his gaze toward other women.

I looked up at my friend in disbelief.

"Isn't your situation good enough? Atrias Elliotson nearly destroyed everything. More than half of my pack's territory has already been claimed by the Alliance. And that madman has been searching for his mate to become more powerful! Perhaps when they first met, Melissa was just too enchanting. I can't fathom how he came to believe that Melissa was his destiny, which led to all of this."

Was the world truly going mad? I could hardly believe someone would wage war over such absurdity.

"He thinks Melissa is his destiny? So, he wants to bring her from the North... I don't even know which Pack he belongs to!" I felt foolish for saying such things.

"It doesn't matter, Elliott! What we need to do now is unite. I don't want you to end. in the same situation as me, and especially not like Jim. You know how he practically idolizes Atrias."

As he spoke, I could only smile wryly.

Chapter 38: He is Melissa's True Destiny

"Do you think it's a good thing that the meadow hasn't already been divided in two? However, many of my subordinates support Jim; they have chosen to follow him in pursuing change. I've tried to make them see that this is a conspiracy, but they've been swayed by Atrias Elliotson and have become fervent followers. My refusal to fight doesn't mean we are weak; I simply love peace and want the Meadow Pack to thrive on its own." Knowing Swan's true purpose for being here today, I decided to lay bare my thoughts.

"Elliott, do you think I came to replace you for no reason? I have fallen into utter despair. I once had everything, but suddenly it was all destroyed. I'm glad you're willing to join our resistance; perhaps we will benefit from it, or perhaps we will all fail miserably. But at least we can break free from Atrias Elliotson's grasp.

I knew that many in the Alliance did not wish to get involved in these matters.

Five days ago, a Pack in the east had been the first to rebel after discovering that Atrias Elliotson had begun imposing heavy taxes on them, rivaling even the dark Alpha of the North.

However, their Pack relied solely on agriculture for survival and had not engaged in much commercial development; even their social infrastructure had been provided by Atrias.

For some unknown reason, Atrias Elliotson suddenly started demanding taxes from them and repurposed the hospital built for their Pack into a joint base for the wounded of the Alliance, which sparked the rebellion.

Noticing my distraction, Swan assumed I was still lost in thoughts of Melissa.

He took a deep breath and spoke earnestly to me.

"Enough! Bro, stop thinking about Melissa. It's perfectly normal for a captive to fall in love with another man. Right now, she probably only has eyes for that dark Alpha. That guy will express his love and care for her, making her feel safe. In such an environment, who wouldn't feel loved?" I wanted to tear the mouth off this idiot in front of me; I had no desire for him to continue speaking.

"Now that fool Atrias might think Melissa simply didn't notice he was her destined one, which is why she's entangled with the dark Alpha. Wait...! If that guy is too slow to act on his own, I truly need your help. Elliott, are you hearing me?"

Swan's eyes suddenly lit up, and he spoke to me

e excitedly.

"He wants his destined mate; for Melissa, he might even attack the North. We all know how fate works, or we could use the North and bring her back."

I thought this guy was truly insane. Melissa was living happily in the North, and dragging her into this mess would only be disastrous.

"I know you care for her deeply, but as long as you are willing to trust me, I won't hurt her. As for Atrias, he will take good care of Melissa. That dark Alpha is a very brutal man:
