Not His Type Of Mate
Chapter 191

Nora's

POV

I smiled softly. "So, how do you see this place? Hope you are comfortable here?" I asked Julius, who was playing with a toy car that Lady Christabel gave to him a few days ago. He raised his head to look at me and smiled. "Yes, Mum. It's really cool here. Everyone is so nice, and they want to play with me. It's nice, really," he replied and continued his play again. I smiled, staring at him for a while, thinking about what to say again as it had been a while since I last spoke to him. "Would you like to visit my family? They live around here," I said to him, and he frowned. "They live around here?" He asked, and I nodded. "Yeah! Let's go! I want to see Uncle Maxwell! I want to see everyone!" He said excitedly and stood up. "Let's go right away, Mum," he added, and I chuckled. I stood up and nodded my head. "I will quickly get a car key, and we can leave right away," I said to him and left him there to look for a car key.

"You're going out?" Alpha Leo asked me as I connected to him through the mind link while I was still searching around for a key. Maddison's cars were not here as we had been transported here by air. "Yes, I'm going to meet my parents," I replied. "Okay, there are drivers downstairs. You can ask any of them to take you there," he said, and a smile appeared on my face. That would be nice too, as I was tired already. "Okay, sounds cool. I will do that," I said and immediately returned downstairs. I was about to climb down the last step when Julius ran over to me and asked, "Mum, have you found the keys? Let's go now." His excitement warmed my heart and made me feel happy too. I watched him run out of the building to go and wait for me outside, and I smiled. "Baby, Julius and I want to go and see my family; we will be back before night," I said to Maddison through the mind link. "Okay, don't stay out too long. Take care," he said, and the mind link ended there. I stepped out of the mansion and met Julius speaking with a man. The two were talking and laughing, which surprised me. "Julius," I called, and he turned his head to look at me. "Mum, meet my new friend. He is so funny," his tiny voice sounded funny to my ears as he addressed the old man as his friend. I turned to the man. "And... Who are you?" The man bowed immediately. "I'm a driver, Ma," he replied, and I smiled. "Ohh! That's great! I was about to ask one of the drivers to drive my son and me somewhere. Can you drive us then?" I asked, and the man nodded immediately. "Sure, Ma'am. Let's go," he said and led us to one of the cars. He opened the car, and we got in before he started the engine and got on the way.

A few moments later, we got to my family's house, and I knocked on the door. The door opened, and it was my mother. "Nora!" She called excitedly as she opened the door wider to let us in, and we entered. "You didn't tell me you were coming! Oh! It has been so long!" It was obvious that she was happy to see me, but it wasn't the same for me, so I just entered without saying a word. "Where is Dad?" I asked as soon as I entered the sitting room and sat down. "He's upstairs," she replied, and I nodded my head. I turned to look at her, and my eyes twitched when I saw Julius in her arms. The way they were talking and playing with each other made me feel like they were true families, and it made me wonder if this was the same mother that bullied me so much when I was younger. The same mother that made me feel worthless of myself and made my life miserable for a long time.

While I was still thinking to myself, I heard footsteps from the stairs and turned my head to see who it was, only to see that it was my father. "Oh, Nora! You're here!" He said with a thrilling voice, and I nodded my head without much of a reaction. "Yes, Julius wanted to see you," I said to him, and he nodded his head with a smile. He walked over to my mother, who was holding Julius in her arms, and touched his face. "Such a handsome boy," he commented, and Julius blushed. My mother smiled. "I will have to excuse myself and Julius. I want to take him around the house; we will be back," she said, and before any of us could say a word, she had rushed away with Julius. Her excitement was leaking everywhere.

After she left, I was in the sitting room alone with my father, so I turned to face him. "How is Vera? Are you hearing from her?" I asked, and he sucked in a deep breath. "No, it has been a while since we last saw her. She doesn't come home anymore, and any time we are opportune to speak with her, she won't tell us where she is or what she is doing. I don't understand anymore," he replied, and my heart skipped a beat. I was worried about her, and my hands turned sweaty right then. "Are you sure she is really okay?" I asked worriedly, and my father nodded his head. "Yes, she is. We are very sure of that," he replied with a weak smile. He must have noticed that I was bothered about Vera. I breathed in relief and nodded my head. "That's great then," I said and relaxed my back. We didn't say a word to each other again for a long while, and I was about to fall asleep while sitting in silence when my mother returned with Julius. He looked even more excited when he came back, and it made me happy too. "Let's go now. It's getting late, and your father will soon start worrying about us," I said to Julius, who nodded his head and came over to my side. "Okay, Grandma, Grandpa, I'm leaving now," he said, and my mother laughed. "Okay, my boy," she replied and waved to him. I walked toward the door before I turned to look at them and bowed. "Bye," I said, and without waiting for them to reply, I left and returned to Alpha Leo's mansion. On getting to the mansion, the first person I saw was Ava, who ran over to me with a very big smile on her face. "Lady Nora, I've been looking for you for a while now," she said with a playful pout, and I chuckled.

"What's it? I was out to pay a visit to my parents. They live around here," I replied, and she nodded her head understandably. "Guess what? Alpha Leo proposed to me! He wants to marry me!" She announced, and my mouth hung open! I was shocked; I couldn't believe that was true at all! Alpha Leo didn't tell us that was part of his plan, and I wasn't expecting something like that either. But when I saw the happiness shown on Ava's face, I couldn't help but smile. "That's very cool. Congratulations, Ava! I'm so happy for you!" I said to her, and she blushed hard. "I owe it to yours and Lord Maddison's help. Thank you so much," she said, and I shook my head. "No, it's your perseverance that paid off," I said to her, and that was when Julius grabbed my hand, attracting my attention to himself. "Mum, why didn't we see Uncle Maxwell? When grandma took me everywhere, I thought we would see him, but we didn't. Why?" Julius questioned, and I raised a brow. "Oh, that wasn't Uncle Maxwell's place now. Uncle Maxwell lives around our house," I said to him. While I was still talking to Julius, Ava waved to me and ran away. "Oh, I want to see Uncle Maxwell when we return home," he said and left too. I knew he was leaving to play with Lady Christabel again.

I stared at his back for a while before I remembered something and quickly made my way to Alpha Leo's room. I knocked, and I entered when I heard him give permission. "You're back? I was thinking you would want to stay for long," he said, but I shook my head. "No, Maddison wouldn't like it if I stayed for too long and later slept there," I replied, and he made an "O" sound. I walked over to his side and sat down. "I heard from Ava. What are your plans, or do you truly want to go ahead with the marriage? Are you going to do the marriage for real?" I asked curiously, and he sucked in a deep breath. He sat up in bed and looked at me. "I didn't know she would accept me. I was expecting her to say no, but she accepted me instead," he replied, and I raised a brow.

"So, are you going to marry her?" I asked, and he nodded. "Yes, I'm going to marry her. I can't reject her after she accepted me," he replied. "Will you do that when you are still crippled?" I asked with furrowed brows, and he nodded his head. "Yes, I will only stand up on the wedding day... probably during the wedding," he replied, and I chuckled. "When is the wedding?" "Tomorrow," he announced.
