Not His Type Of Mate -
Chapter 91
Lord Madison's POV
"Nora!" I called in panic as I held on to her, but she kept clutching her chest and exclaiming in pain. "Alpha Leo!" She exclaimed loudly in anguish while I held her tightly against myself.
"Calm down, Nora," I pleaded and noticed that she was still wailing in discomfort, so I quickly unleashed my abilities and hugged her tighter.
I felt her trembling in my arms as she tightly shut her eyes and fell unconscious in my arms.
With a sigh, I laid her on the bed and tried to establish a mind link with Leo, but just as Nora said, his signals were dead, which got me worried and scared. "Maddison," I heard Aunt's voice in my head.
"Aunt," I responded in panic.
"We won, but Leo is missing," she sobbed, causing my heart to sink. "According to Beta Jayson, Alpha Leo's power unleashed uncontrollably and he burnt half of the vampires, but when the fire subsided, they couldn't replace him. Leo was burnt to ashes with the vampires," she sobbed loudly, and I felt tears welling up in my eyes, trying to force their way down my cheeks.
"Leo is gone, my life is gone," she sobbed loudly, causing me to sink onto the sofa.
Aunt's words buzzed in my head, causing my heart to clench in my chest. I couldn't believe he was gone when he had just talked to me a few hours ago.
Slowly, the tears flowed as I regretted the fights I had with him. Leo wasn't just a cousin, but he was a friend and a brother. Sadly, our relationship went sour when we both fell for the same woman. "Get search parties to look for his body or anything that belongs to him," I suggested, and Aunt responded.
"We've found something that belonged to him. It's his wristwatch, but it was burnt beyond recognition," she mumbled through tears, and I took a deep breath and stared at Nora, who was unconscious. If she could be in such pain, then it meant only one thing... Leo was gone.
"What am I going to do? How do I live without my Leo?" she asked in tears, and I couldn't replace the words to comfort her. She continued sobbing until she ended the mind link.
Gulping in pain, I stood to my feet and walked over to the bed where Nora was lying. I took a closer look at her and saw a droplet of tears fall down her cheek despite her eyes being closed. "Nora," I called but didn't get a response from her.
I climbed onto the bed and lay beside her before pulling her to myself and squeezing her in my embrace. I noticed her body was extremely cold, which made me panic.
"What is wrong with her?" I asked my wolf, who quickly gave a response. "We need to act fast. Her wolf is in pain, and she might lose it," he said, causing me to furrow my brow. "But I'm here. I'm also her mate," I responded, frightened.
"The bond of a first mate is stronger than that of a second chance mate," my wolf responded, causing a frown to appear on my face. "What do we do? I don't want her to lose her wolf," I spoke.
My wolf remained silent before finally speaking. "You have to have sex with her and mark her as yours. That way, the bond she has with Leo would be broken, and she would only belong to you," my wolf suggested.
I lay there, stunned, as my wolf's words echoed in my head. The idea of taking advantage of Nora's vulnerable state to mark her as mine felt wrong. She had just lost a mate, and it didn't seem fair or respectful to force myself upon her in such a moment of grief. But my wolf had a point. If Nora's wolf was in pain and at risk of being lost, I had to do something to strengthen the bond between us. I couldn't bear the thought of losing her too, especially when she needed someone to lean on now more than ever.
I took a deep breath and carefully moved away from Nora, giving her space on the bed. I sat at the edge, contemplating the situation. It was a difficult decision to make, and I needed to weigh the consequences of my actions. "There is no other way, Madison. Why are you reluctant to do this? It's not like you are doing anything wrong. She is also our mate," my wolf urged, while I remained silent, wondering if Nora would understand the situation. "Alpha Madison," I heard Nora weakly whisper behind me and quickly turned to see her eyes slightly open.
"Nora!" I called and went over to her.
"Are you okay?" I asked while pulling her into my arms.
"Alpha Leo, something is not right. My wolf, I feel I'm losing it," she mumbled in pain, and I sighed and placed a kiss on her forehead. "I'm here. Nothing is going to happen to you," I comforted her and noticed her body was getting colder. "The more time we waste, the more dangerous it would be," my wolf urged me, and I didn't know what to do.
I struggled with the conflicting thoughts in my mind. On one hand, my wolf urged me to take action to save Nora's wolf and strengthen our bond. On the other hand, I couldn't ignore the moral dilemma of taking advantage of her vulnerable state. "Nora, I... I need to talk to you about something," I stammered, unsure of how to approach the delicate matter.
I took a deep breath, trying to replace the right words. "Nora, I understand how much you're hurting right now, and I want to help. But what I'm about to suggest... it's not an easy decision, and I want you to know that I would never force anything on you." I looked down at her and noticed her eyes were tightly shut and her face etched with pain. "I think I'm dying," she whispered, causing fear to envelop my entire being.
k and exhausted.
I turned to face her and cupped her face in my palm, staring deeply into her gorgeous sea - blue eyes. Honestly, this was the best sex of my life, and I wouldn't want to ever let her slip off my arm.
"Are you okay?" I asked, looking down at her. She seemed shocked by the passionate intimate we just had, which caused her to nod bluntly. "Come here," I said, pulling Nora into my warm, strong embrace. "I love you, Nora," I confessed to her as I stroked her hair until she fell asleep.
I relaxed my head on hers, relieved she was feeling better now just as expected, but then I thought of Leo.
