Omega Lost -
Chapter 36
**Sebastian**
I tear myself away from Elena with great difficulty so that she can get cleaned up. As much as I would love for her to smell this strongly of me for a while longer, it would only drive me crazy and neither of us would be able to leave our room today. Unfortunately, being Alpha means I don't have the pleasure of staying in bed all day. I head back downstairs where my mom is cooing at Eli as he gurgles and smiles at her. She smiles down at him sweetly and warmth fills my chest at the sight of her with a baby. He isn't mine but I've made her a grandmother and it's a good look on her.
"Don't spoil him too much Mom." I tease her as I head for the kitchen.
She scoffs. "I'll do as I please with my grandson."
I shake my head and pour myself a cup of coffee. "Where are the others?"
"Stella dropped them off at school on her way to work." She says absentmindedly. "So it's final then? She's your Omega now?"
My arm stops mid-air and my eyes lock on hers. She smirks and I let out a weak laugh.
"Yeah, she is. She's the one." I tell her proudly.
She smiles at me and nods. "Good. Be good to her son, and don't take her for granted. I can tell...she's special."
She doesn't know how true that is. "I know."
I take a seat across from her and pull out my phone to check my emails. Most of them are updates from Miles on a few of our newest deals and one about our most recent client. I need to ask him over to tell him about everything Elena told
me.
"Ethan came over yesterday.” Mom says breaking the silence between us.
My hackles go up and my wolf stares ready to hunt down the guy as soon as possible. Mom raises a brow at me and I face myself to relax. She might be an Omega but she has that mom look that makes me feel like I'm a kid again. "I don't like him," I grumble.
"He's a good man Seb. He'll be good to her." She says and even though I know he's a good man I don't like thinking of my sister being bonded.
"I don't like it. He's too much older than her." I say grabbing at any thread I can replace.
She shakes her head. "Age means nothing and you know that. Our wolves choose for us, and their wolves have chosen each other, everyone can see it."
"It doesn't mean they should be paired. Not everyone bonds because of what their wolves think."
"You sound like your father." Her words are clipped and her face flushes a little with anger.
Her words cut me but sober me. She's right. That's how my father used to think, and I won't be like him...ever.
"If he asks to bond with her then I need to know he will take care of her mom. I'm not going to hand my sister over to someone who will do the bare minimum. She deserves better than that." I tell her and she nods.
"Of course she does. You all do. Just don't chase him away with your overprotectiveness." She warns me. "Besides we should be more worried about Ava."
Great.
"Now what?"
She chuckles. "Nothing, she turns heads wherever she goes, but you already know where her heart lies."
Isaac Rodriguez. He and Ava have danced around each other since they were young. Neither of them has taken anything further than friendship, but just like with Stella, it doesn't take a genius to see how compatible they are. They're only 17 though so that might change, although I doubt it.
"Isaac asked her to prom," Mom says with a smile on her face. "He brought her a huge bouquet of white Lillies."
Ava's favorite flowers.
"He's a good kid," I say as calmly as possible.
"And Ethan isn't?" She asks.
"I don't know him as well. He only moved into the pack a year ago." I point out.
"You're a good brother Sebastian, but you have just bonded your Omega. Enjoy your time together and I'll worry about your sisters."
"Mom, I can handle it-"
She shakes her head and I snap my mouth shut. "You took over the pack before you were ready and now have to deal with all that comes with it and now you're bonded. Take some time for yourself and enjoy some time with Elena. How about I take this little guy off your hands for a while?"
"I don't know, Elena might worry. She doesn't like him being too far away."
She nods her head in understanding but turns her head when we hear footsteps coming down the stairs. Elena sees me and her face flushes, even more, when she spots my mom.
"Good morning." She says before she slowly makes her way over to us.
Her eyes light up when she sees Eli and my mom hands him over to her. "Morning handsome." She says before kissing the top of his head.
"I was just telling Sebastian that I can take Eli for the day so you two can spend some time together. You're newly bonded and could use the quality time." My mom tells her.
Elena looks at her and then at me. "Oh, you don't need to do that."
My mom stands and gives Elena a soft smile. "You're family now, and family helps each other. Besides how could I be upset about spending time with this handsome little man. But I won't push you if you're not ready to be separated from him."
Elena brushes her hand over Eli's small head and smiles at him. He might not be her son, but she cares about him like he is. Her wolf has claimed him as her own.
"Being away from your baby for the first time is hard, I understand. Just let me know any time you need someone to watch him." My mom says squeezing Elena's shoulder before grabbing her purse and heading for the door. "I'll let you guys enjoy your day."
"Wait!" Elena calls.
She looks down at Eli again and I watch a war of emotions play across her face.
"Maybe for a little while." She tells my mom.
My mom walks back over to her. "Only if you're ready sweetheart. There is nothing wrong with not being ready. Okay? You're protecting your pup and that is never wrong."
Elena nods and gives my mom a small smile. "Thank you." She gently hands Eli to my mom and blows out a breath.
"I'll grab his stuff," Elena says but my mom rests her hand on Elena's arm stopping her.
"I have everything he needs at the house."
Elena nods. Mom says goodbye and leaves with Eli tucked in her arms. Elena watches the door even after it's closed. I move over to her and wrap my arms around her from behind. Her hands grab onto me hard as if she needs to anchor herself to something.
"She will take good care of him and we can pick him up at any time," I tell her.
She nods and lets out a shaken breath. "I know I'm sorry. It's silly to be so worried about him."
"It's not. He's your pup and a young one."
"But he isn't mine, not really. So why does it feel like this?" She asks.
"Your wolf has claimed him as her pup which means you have to and you're worried, but like I said we can go pick him up whenever you want. Mom just wants us to spend time together to strengthen our bond. The days after bonding are... delicate." I explain.
"Right." She turns in my arms and looks up at me with glossy eyes. "Thank you. I'm sorry about my being worried. I know your mom would never hurt Eli. She has to be an amazing woman if she raised you."
I smile down at her before leaning down and stealing a kiss from her soft lips. She immediately melts against me and I groan when her scent shifts to something sweeter. Her body is already reacting to me and the change in her scent is making me hard again. If we keep this up I might have to take her back upstairs and there is still a lot I have to get done today. One of them is to get Miles here so she can tell him her story. I force myself to break away from my Omega so I can let her know about my plans when there's a knock at the front door.
"Shit, that's Miles," I tell her.
Her face flushes. "Oh."
"I hadn't even told him to come by yet. Something must have come up." I reluctantly let her go and storm toward the door throwing it open and narrowing my eyes on my friend.
