Omega Lost -
Chapter 39
**Sebastian**
A part of me hoped Elena wouldn't see this side of me for a while still, but she was right. I shouldn't hide any of me even the sides I don't particularly like. As the CEO it's up to me to not only keep my employees in line but the deals I go into negotiations over mean I have to be harsh and firm. It gets dirty sometimes and I have to come off as unaffected and even cold. Nothing I want to be toward her. Still, I don't want to lie by hiding myself from her. Besides she'll have to see me when I handle my Alpha duties as well.
It won't be long before I need to present her not only to the pack but to our allies as well. Traditionally we throw a dinner party to share the news with everyone, so it will be expected of me to do the same. I can already guess how Samuel will react since he had hoped I would break down and take his daughter as my Omega. No matter how many times I have told him I wouldn't bond with her he didn't seem to care. My guess is he figured I'd cave for the good of our alliance, but he'll see now how wrong he was.
If he plans to cause trouble because of it then I guess...well we will have to handle possibly losing an ally.
I link Elena's hand with mine and lead her through the lobby of the building. Almost every eye is on us as we move toward the elevators.
"Everyone is watching." She whispers.
"Well, their Alpha just walked in holding the hand of a beautiful woman when he was a known bachelor for a long time. That would be a shock to anyone who knows me. Only a couple of days ago Miles had convinced me to go to the Omega School, but before that, I had no plans of bonding. So this is going to be a surprise to them, but I won't hide. Besides they could smell me on you from a mile away, might as well make it public." I tell her.
I catch a flush work its way up her neck, but she smiles shyly. Even though my words about them being able to smell me on her is true, I don't want to hide us. Maybe it's the Alpha part of me that wants everyone to know she's mine, but also she deserves more than to be kept a secret. The pack wanted me to bond someone, and I have. Whether or not they like my choice means nothing to me. I have put up with them, but if it comes down to it I will strip them of pack status and send them off to replace a new home.
No one will disrespect my Omega. No one.
We go into my office and Elena gasps when she sees the view from the wall of windows. I watch her walk toward them and the way the sun filters through giving her an almost angelic effect. She's so beautiful that it nearly takes my breath away. Maybe I'm biased given the intensity of everything I'm already feeling toward her, but I can't look away.
"Mr. Young, I've gotten a few calls from-" Isla stops short when she sees Elena standing near the windows.
I turn to face her but her eyes are fixed on Elena.
"Yes, Miss Lewis?" I ask trying to get her attention back to me.
Her eyes blink and she finally seems to realize where she is. "Oh uh, I have been getting several calls about the new acquisition. I guess they are not happy with the revisions Mr. Cromwell sent over." She hands me her tablet where and email is already open.
I skim the email and sigh. "Get them on the phone." She nods and accepts the tablet when I hand it to her but glances Elena's way one more time before leaving. "Is that your assistant?" Elena asks.
The urge to touch her is too strong for me to resist, so I walk over and rest my hands on her hips, and lean in to slant my lips over hers. Her body melts against me and she makes a sound that instantly makes me want to bend her over my desk and take her with all my employees a wall apart from us. She isn't loud in bed so I might be able to manage it but there's a chance someone could hear her sounds of pleasure and that will be deadly for them. No one can hear the sounds she makes for me.
A knock at the door breaks us apart but I don't release her. I can't. Instead, I call out for whoever it is to enter and watch Elena's face flush before she hides her face against my chest. My chest rumbles with a laugh that only makes her shake her head.
"Oh, should I come back?" Miles asks.
"No, it's fine. Come in. What do you have for me? I hear negotiations didn't go well yesterday." I finally let Elena go but just far enough for me to grab her hand and lead her over to my desk.
I offer her my seat. She looks at me with confusion but I nod for her to sit and turn my attention to Miles. He glances between the two of us, and I catch a small smile before he turns all business again. I sit on the edge of my desk and wait as he pulls out his own tablet and types at it.
"They sent their new revised contract, but it isn't much different from the original they sent us over during our first negotiations. They still want to leave the CFO in place and continue with us as silent partners and only taking thirty percent." He explains.
"What is your offer?" Elena asks suddenly.
Miles and I look her way and she shrinks back a little. "Sorry. I didn't mean to interrupt." Her eyes fall to where her hands fidget on her lap.
"Don't apologize. All of this is yours as much as mine. You have the right to know whatever you would like." I tell her. "Let me pull up the contract for you to look at."
Miles raises a brow at me, but I don't have to explain myself to him. Elena is interested in the company and is my mate. She can see whatever she wants and be a part of however much she wants. Bonding to me means everything of mine is now hers. So I open the documents on my laptop and slide it in front of her to read through. She gingerly reaches for the computer and starts to read while I look at Miles signaling for him to continue. "What changes did they make because I don't hear anything new here," I tell him.
"They are willing to sell some of their shares to us. It would make sense in the long run if they weren't hemorrhaging money so badly. Whatever they did to try and stay afloat in the past has left a mess. Their stocks are no good to us as is." Miles shakes his head and passes his tablet to me.
I see the scribbled notes made by the owner on the digital version of the contract. It's barely legible no doubt because of his anxiety and frustration but I can understand enough of it. He wants us to pay half a million dollars for twenty percent of the company's shares. This means nothing because the business has no money and me doing this would only help them pay off several loans but nothing more.
"They owe a substantial amount to a group called Matheson's Investments. From what their financials show, they made several investments that crashed around the same time. This investment company must have been a farce for them to steal millions from the company." Elena says.
"Matheson's Investments?" I stand and move to stand behind her to see what she's found.
"I'm not sure how to see more of this, but right here it shows at least three transfers to this investment group with no returns." She points at a bank statement. "If I could read more of this I could try to see where else this company shows up." She isn't familiar with laptops I guess, which isn't all that surprising since she didn't know how to use a smartphone either. Why did her school keep them away from technology like this? Even when I was in school we were able to use computers for research.
"Here." I show her how to click through the scanned documents and watch her read a few more pages.
"Right there." She points to a contract signed for a pledge toward the start-up of this company Matheson's Investments. "They paid a lot of money to start with and then more as the years went on. Whoever owns this company was stealing from them for a long time."
"So why won't they let us buy them out?" Miles asks.
Exactly.
