One Girl Two Mates -
Chapter 5
LILIANA
POV
"It's time to wake up, mi amor, we're home." Diego's husky voice brought me out of my dreams and back to the real world. He slid out of the car, holding out his hand to help me climb out. I gasped as I stared up at the pack house. It was completely different from Midnight Moon's pack house. It was roughly the same size. Instead of red brick and asphalt shingles this pack house was a beautiful cream color, the shingles were a red clay color and rounded. The two giant pillars and window trimmings were white. "Do you like it?" Diego asked as he wrapped his arm around my waist.
"Wow." I breathed.
"It's beautiful, I've never seen a house like this before." I gazed at it, taking in every detail. I realized once I got closer the pillars were covered in intricate carvings of wolves.
"Our pack is originally from Mexico. Almost a hundred years ago they moved here due to rogue attacks. They fought hard until the Alpha's wife and only daughter were murdered. They felt it was in the packs best interest. This pack house was built to be an exact replica of the one from Mexico." Diego had a far off look in his eyes. I reached out and squeezed his hand. He leaned down, pecking me on the forehead. "Ready to meet your new pack?" I felt butterflies swarm my belly.
"Yes." I smiled as we walked up the few steps and through the front door. If I thought the outside was beautiful I don't know how to explain the inside. It took my breath away with the rich colors of orange and yellow. There was art everywhere, it was a lot to take in. "Mijo! You're home!" I looked up to see an older woman that looked just like Diego coming down the stairs.
"Si mama." He said as he pulled her into a hug. Her eyes connected with mine over his shoulder, she let out a gasp.
"Is this her?" She said as she pushed him away and came towards me.
"Yes mama, I found my mate." I smiled at him, his eyes were filled with love.
"You're absolutely beautiful, mija." She cupped my cheeks and looked me over.
"She has wide hips, perfect for pups." She laughed, winking at me. My whole body froze, pups? Already?
"Mama! Stop before you make her faint or worse, scare her off." I looked up to see Valentina now standing behind Diego.
"Having an heir is important and I want grandchildren." Their mother huffed as she turned to them.
"Mi amor this is my mother Michelle, mother this is Liliana." Diego stepped back by my side, wrapping his arm around me. Tingles exploded up and down my arm where his hand had touched.
"Liliana is such a beautiful name." She sighed as she looked at us. Her expression changed when she sniffed the air.
"You're half vampire?" My back tensed, this is what I feared, she's going to make him reject me.
"Yes and she's a white wolf." Diego said, causing his mother and sister to gasp in unison.
"But I thought those were just things of legend. Are you sure she's white and not a gray color?" His mother asked with her brows raised.
"No mama, she's a white wolf." I glanced at all of their faces, utterly confused.
"I thought our hair color determined the color of our wolves? What's so special about being a white wolf?" I asked.
"Let's take this to my office." Was all Diego said as he led us up the stairs. When stopped at a dark maroon door that he opened. I was shocked, his office was double the size of my old bedroom. There was a grand oak desk with a desktop computer and a laptop computer. There was a line of ten filing cabinets behind his desk. Around the room on every wall was floor to ceiling bookshelves. There were three couches positioned all around the room. Diego pulled me with him around the desk where his chair was. He sat and promptly pulled me down onto his lap. I couldn't help the blush that creeped across my cheeks. I watched as his mother walked to one of the bookshelves and pulled down a giant book. She placed it on the table in front of us, it looked ancient. It was bound in dark brown leather. The cover didn't say anything, it just had a shimmery golden wolf on it. It creaked and cracked when Diego's mother opened it, raining dust on his desk. I watched as she flipped through the thin, worn out pages.
"Here." She said stopping on a page. I leaned forward to get a better look. It had an illustration of a white wolf and paragraphs that looked to be written by hand. She cleared her throat and began to read.
"A white wolf is born every one hundred and fifty years. The white wolf is the product of when a werewolf and a vampire mate. The werewolf and a vampire must be fated mates and born into royalty." The room became silent, every pair of eyes on me. "I'm an orphan, I don't know who my parents are." I said looking around.
"There's no way that I was born from royalty, why would they leave me at some random pack?" My brows furrowed as I stared at them.
"Continue, mama." Diego said as he squeezed me closer.
"Along with the abilities of any normal werewolf or vampire, the white wolf will have other supernatural abilities. Those abilities will come forth after the wolf's eighteenth birthday. It is unknown what the abilities will be or how many they will have." His mother finished reading.
"Have you noticed any weird abilities?" Valentina asked.
"Uh no." I looked around at them.
"Maybe it takes time." His mother said as she tapped her finger on her chin.
"It makes sense as to why we were mated." Diego says as he kisses my shoulder. "What do you mean?"
"I'm a gold wolf." My eyes widened, I twisted in his hold to stare at him fully.
"But I saw your wolf, it's black." There are three types of wolves, well apparently four, anyway. There are three types that are taught to us from a very young age. You have your standard werewolf. They have speed, heightened senses, and fast healing. Then you have gold and silver wolves. Those wolves can control one of the elements. Such as earth, wind, fire, or water. Gold wolves control either fire or air whereas silver wolves control earth or water.
"It's all in the eyes, mi amor." He said as he gazed into my eyes. His eyes are a deep honey color, I loved them.
"Does that mean you have a special ability?" I asked. Diego smirked, lifting his free hand. I watched as a ball of fire appeared in his palm. I gasped as I stared at the flickering ball. I reached out to feel it's heat, but it disappeared.
"I don't want you to burn yourself, mi amor." He murmured as he stroked my cheek, his hand was still warm.
"Maybe you should try training." Diego growled at his sister's words.
"What?" She snapped back.
"No one is to touch my mate." He snarled at her.
"I meant train with you, pendejo." She rolled her eyes.
"Valentina!" Their mother yelled, giving Valentina a smack on the back of her head.
"Ouch!" She yelped, rubbing her head and glaring at Diego. I looked over at him as his mother and Valentina bickered. He was twirling a lock of my hair between his fingers, looking deep in thought.
"What are you thinking?" I asked, gaining his attention.
"That for once Valentina is right, I should train you." He sighed, burying his face into my hair. I nibbled on my bottom lip as I looked over at the opened book. It all seemed so ridiculous, the idea that I was some lost royalty. RAFAEL POV
I stared down at the papers I'd already read three times. I couldn't f*****g focus, all my thoughts just circle back to her. I shouted as I swiped my arm across my desk. I need to reject her, I can't keep living like this, it's only been a few hours. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath. I heard a light knocking on the door. "Come in." I called out. I watched as my Beta Santiago entered my office.
"Sorry I missed all the fun, this pregnancy has been rough on Mariana." He said as he took his seat in front of me. Another person that's a slave to the mate bond, pathetic. Santiago knows my views and how I feel about mates. It doesn't stop him from being my best friend.
"I found her Santi, I found my f*****g mate." I watched as his eyebrows shot up.
"Did you reject her?" I stayed silent, averting my gaze.
"It's not so easy now is it?" He asked smugly.
"Shut up." I said through clenched teeth.
"What are you going to do?" He said in a more serious tone. I stared down at my glass of whiskey, I'm becoming an alcoholic.
"I don't know, but it's driving me insane." I threw back the drink, sucking in as the drink burned my throat.
"Why don't you accept her?" My head snapped to his direction.
"Are you serious right now? I'm don't want a f*****g mate, especially her. She's a f*****g half breed." I snarled at him.
"Then go and reject her." He said simply.
"I can't." I leaned back in my chair.
"Why not?" He c****d his eyebrow.
"Because she's with her other mate." I watched his face morph into confusion.
"She has two mates, her other one is Alpha Diego from Dark Wood."
