One Girl Two Mates -
Chapter 6
DIEGO POV
I watched as my mate stared down at the ancient book. I couldn't get over how breathtaking she was. I looked up at my mother and sister, telling them with my eyes that I wanted alone time. "Well I'm going to go terrorize Eric." Valentina said, smiling sweetly as she skipped out of my office.
"I'm going to replace your father, I'm so happy my Diego has found you, Lili." My mother smiled, gazing at us one last time before she left us alone. I turned my attention back to my beautiful mate. She was in a pale yellow sundress that stopped just at her knees. I laid my hand on her knee, stroking it towards her inner thigh. She stopped reading, her attention turned to my hand. I slowly slid my hand up further, pushing up her dress. I watched as her eyes grew wide, I heard her heart pound in her chest. When I reached the middle of her thigh her hand shot down, catching mine.
"I-I'm not ready." Her cheeks reddened.
"Not ready for what, mi amor?" I asked, my lips teasing her neck.
"You know... that." I chuckled at her innocence.
"And what's that?" She wiggled in my hold.
"S-s*x... I'm not ready for s*x." She bit her lip, turning her face from me.
"Okay, mi amor, I'll wait for you." I kissed her shoulder and felt her relax in my hold.
"Would you like a tour of the pack house?"
LILIANA POV
I was still trying to calm my racing heart as Diego led me through the pack house. I wanted him to touch me, I wanted him so badly, but something inside me told him to stop. A piece of my heart is still missing. I don't think I can fully accept him without my other mate. Just thinking of him made my heart clench. I don't know if he'll reject me, he made it very clear that he doesn't want me.
"What's going on in that pretty little head of yours?" I looked up at Diego as we stood in the garden, I nibbled my bottom lip.
"It's nothing." I replied as I gazed at all of the flowers.
"It's not nothing, Lili, something is upsetting you." He kissed my shoulder and stroked his hand down my arm.
"I feel... incomplete." I sighed, avoiding his gaze.
"What do you mean?" He cupped my cheek, turning my face to gaze at him.
"I don't want to upset you."
"I won't be upset, I promise." His thumb stroked my cheek. I searched his eyes, they were full of honesty.
"I need him... my other mate. I need you both." I nibbled at my bottom lip waiting for his anger.
"I understand, mi amor. I am upset with the way he treated you, but I'm not upset that you want him. He's your second mate, of course you're going to want him." I sighed in relief.
"I don't know what to do... I have no idea who he is." I brought my hand to my lips, biting my thumb. It was a nervous habit of mine.
"I didn't get a look at his face either." Diego sighed as he rubbed my back gently.
"Wait! There was an omega with him!" My gut rolled, remembering what he did with her that night.
"I remember." He said with an annoyed tone.
"I knew her, she worked at a boutique in a human town next to the pack lands." I tried to rack my brain for her name and the name of the shop.
"Kara? Karen? Karlie? Uh... Karissa! Her name is Karissa. What the hell was the shop's name?" I chewed my thumb as I started to pace.
"Well there's plenty of shops in that area, it's a perfect time to expand your wardrobe." Diego smiled. "Oh, I don't really have much money."
"Mi amor, I told you, when you're with me, you'll have the world." I blushed as he cupped my cheek.
"I'm so excited!" Valentina squealed as we pulled up to the shopping center in the human town next to Midnight Moon. I looked around and sighed, none of the names looked familiar. Diego had decided to let me and Valentina have a little bonding time. I didn't really want to spend his money, but he wouldn't let me say no.
"Let's get some coffee first." We hopped out of the car followed by a warrior named David. He was a giant man, all muscles with sandy blonde hair and brown eyes. He definitely looked intimidating. Since Valentina is the daughter of an Alpha and I'm going to be the next Luna, Diego refused to let us go alone. We walked into a coffee shop named 'Spill the Beans', it made me giggle a little.
"Hi, what can I get started for you today?" The barista with hot pink hair and a nose ring asked us.
"I'll have a venti iced white chocolate mocha with four pumps of caramel with whipped cream and caramel sauce on top." Valentina said.
"Okay and you?" The barista asked me.
"I'll uh have the same as her." I laughed awkwardly.
"Can I get a name for the order?" She smiled and I noticed she had another piercing in the gum above her two front teeth.
"Valentina."
"I'll have those right out for you ladies." Valentina and I walked to a corner next to the window to have a seat. David stood next to us against the wall, his eyes constantly searching the room. I noticed some people staring at us like we were celebrities. "Don't worry, you'll get used to it." Valentina shrugged and she inspected her nails.
"We should get manicures and pedicures too."
"I've never had one before." I shrugged my shoulders when her eyes grew wide.
"I didn't really get time to spend money on myself for things like that. My money went towards necessities." I watched as the barista from earlier came and quietly dropped off our drinks.
"Well get ready to be spoiled 24/7, with Diego as your mate you'll only be getting the best of everything." I smiled shyly as I took a sip of my coffee.
"Oh my gosh, Valentina, this is amazing!" I gasped as I drank more.
"I'm glad to hear it, I get it everytime I come here." She smiled. A comfortable silence fell over us as we drank our coffees. Once we were basically finished Valentina hopped out of her chair.
"To the salon!" I giggled at her as I followed her across the street. I was expecting the smell of harsh chemicals, but this place was very upscale. I gasped when I saw the price list.
"Valentina, this place is way too expensive." I frowned down at the paper.
"I have a black card with no limit, go sit your little butt down in that chair." She said as she pointed to the seat. Feeling like a scolded child, I obeyed her command. I sat across from a young man with a beautiful dark skin tone. He had on a full face of makeup. His eyeshadow was a vibrant orange, it looked like it was glowing against his skin.
"What color did you want today, honey?" He asked with a smooth, southern accent.
"Oh, I'm not sure." I chewed my lip.
"Pssst, Diego's favorite color is red." Valentina whisper-yelled at me. I smiled and turned back to the nail tech.
"Red please."
To my surprise he gave me acrylic nails. I'd never had fake nails before, I'd never even painted them before. He made them sharp, almost like claws and they were a blood red shade with hints of glitter. He even painted my toes to match. He gave the most amazing foot massage that I almost fell asleep. Valentina hooked her arm in mine as we walked into a boutique. I kept my eyes open, hoping Karissa worked here. I had to think of a way to discreetly talk to her since Diego's family didn't know about my second mate. I was looking at some cocktail dresses when a redhead woman approached me.
"Is there anything I can help you with today?" She asked in a mildly condescending tone. I knew that look in her eyes. She thought I was beneath her, like I didn't belong here. I glanced down at my old, yellow sundress that I'd gotten from a thrift store. I suddenly felt so out of place.
"Are you sure you're in the right store?" She towered over me in her ridiculous, five inch heels.
"That's a big purse, is there anything in there I should know about?" I looked down at the cute red leather purse Valentina let me borrow. I looked around frantically for David and Valentina.
"I-uh-l..." I felt tears well up in my eyes as she stared down her nose at me. I did what I always do when I'm scared, I ran.
"Hey get back here you thief! Someone call the police!" She barked at her coworkers. The tears streamed down my face as I bolted for the door. Before I could reach it, David appeared out of nowhere and caught me. "Luna, what's wrong?" David asked with his hands on my shoulders.
"Oh thank you for catching her, she's a thief!" The redhead said with a flushed face.
"Excuse me?" David said with a raised brow.
"She has a stolen product in her purse." She said matter of factly with her arms crossed.
"What's going on over here?" Valentina said with an employee trailing behind her carrying pounds of clothes.
"I'm calling the police." The redhead huffed, pulling out her cellphone.
"Lili, what's going on?" Valentina asked, completely ignoring the woman.
"I-" Before I could finish, the redhead cut me off.
"She stole from the store and now I'm-"
"Do you know who you're talking to?" Valentina asked, a threatening aura rolling off of her.
"Well I-" The redhead sputtered before Valentina cut her off.
"I am Valentina Martinez daughter of Jorge Martinez, do you know who that is, hm?" The redhead stared at Valentina, dumbstruck.
"He is the 10th richest person in the world, he probably owns this shop. So, if you value your job, you'll apologize to my sister in law." Valentina had her arms crossed, shooting daggers at the woman. "I-I'm sorry." The redhead said, tears welling in her eyes.
"I don't think I want to buy anything here, come on Lili, let's take our business elsewhere." Valentina huffed, looping her arm with mine, pulling me out of the shop.
