Athena's POV

It had been almut andher ten days before i was finally aide to be released from the Park Ingital, and while I had went things than to run far enough away from it, I knew deep down that my mates bad inny wanted what was best for me we und alles sp had reluctantly agreed to stay the extra two days just so that I had time to finish healing for white the thes were few, my body w

No, in fact, my body had taken on quite a lot during the 2 weeks I had been taken hostage. Between being tied to a bed with sher cuffs to being sexually assaulted almost daily had done alot to me in terms of mental health.

The first night after I had woken up in the Hospital, my body literally imped at every little thing that yunged or mored and thank the gods that my mates where there when it started which lead us towards a topic of discussion, one I wasn't sure i wanted to go down bet constantly jumping and crying and screaming out everytime I had my eyes opened or closed was stormy weating thin on me

Thankfully, when I wasn't having an episode as 1 liked to call them, my other couple of days were spent with my Uncle Kek who came daily to visit me while my Uncle Alex was still handling important business but would call me when he could, which done mate the seale just from hearing his voice.

'He sounds so much like father, they both do' I whisper to Artemis, having suddenly realized that both my Uncle much similar to my father's which was definitely something I hadn't noticed before until now.

Nodding silently to her, I move to silently think back to my mates who would always come to see me even when visiting hours had been long over. That alone was enough to make me smile, their warm gentle gestures always bringing me a sense of calmness. 'Our mates are wonderful, too wonderful' murmurs Artemis, slightly guilty for craving our mates every single time they came to visit.

'Indeed they are' I murmur back, my attention finally pulled towards the door when Elise and Cara enter, both of them along with the others had also made it habit of coming to spend time with me which still managed to throw me for a loop for while they seriously had no reason to come and see me, Elises words were always on replay within my mind, reminding me that we were now friends and friends always helped one another no matter how big or how small it was.

It had also become our way of gossiping about the twins to Ashton to even Isaac and the others which always made me giggle. Who would have thought Ashton was such a softy?' giggles Artemis who had heard Elise talk about a moment in her pack where Ashton had taken it upon himself to help rebuild a roof during one of their latest storms as her pack was a bit further to us.

'And not just Ashton, as it would appear all the men were big softies when it came down to their mates' I say back to her with a smile, my attention now being drawn back to Elise and Cara.

"Hey girl, are you finally ready to be free?" asks Cara with a smile as she and Elise both move to sit down next to me.

"You bet I am, I can't wait to blow this popsicle stand" I say, giggling causing them to smile.

"Speaking of popsicle stands, are you all leaving too?" I ask, unsure if they were still planning to stay or if they were going to head back to their packs.

"Unfortunately yes, now that we know you're safe and okay we have no choice but to return, but don't worry we'll be back for the wedding and help in the fight with the Rogue King" answers Cara, with a sigh which instantly draws my attention.

"Wait... Fight with the Rogue King? When?" I suddenly say, unaware we were planning to go to war with the Rogue King.

Glancing to one another, does Elise and Cara suddenly realize their mistake. Shifting their gaze back towards me, do they sigh before speaking, "Did the twins not tell you?" questions Cara, cautious encase they had.

Chapter 78

"No... tell me what?" I urged, hoping that Cara or Elise would tell me a not once did my mates or my uncles ever mention to me about a war.

Hesitating slowly, Elise decides to be the one to break the ice. "Athena sweetheart, we thought you knew. Ares and Eros have been planning this since the first night that you came back to them, the Rogue King was livid after replaceing out you had vanished... So livid that he came back here with a group of Rogues demanding that the twins give you back."

At the mention of the Rogue King and him coming back to our pack sent shivers down my spine as I pushed for more answers, my mind returning to that girl who had helped me escape that day in order to return home. Grasping for words I feel my hands begin to shake, not wanting to be the source of conflict for anyone including my mates.

"W-What?" I whisper, not sure if I had heard correctly.

"Afraid so sweetheart.. For no sooner did he appear did Ares shift to attack him, both of them fighting tooth and claw as they tried to dominate over the other. Unfortunately Ares was able to push him back but not without some kind of injury himself" admits Elise as she continued, not wanting to hide anything from her friend.

Taking it all in slowly my mind moves to remember back to one of their visits after I had woken up to see Ares sitting in slight discomfort, and at the time, Ares had completely dismissed it while sitting in my presence and now had I'd known I would have pushed for more answers yet I didn't.

"They-They... I stammer to Artemis unable to form any words as I listen, upset by the fact that my mates hadn't told me or at least filled me in with what had happened, and yet they chose not to.

Athena, you need to calm down, I'm sure whatever the reason was, it was for the safety of our babies' answers Artemis who automatically knew where my thoughts were going.

'But they can't go to war.. The Rogue King has witches on his side all thanks to Lily... if they go to war they'll all perish' I say back to her, fear now overpowering any other feeling that might have been lingering in the back of mind.

'Then tell them, for the Rogue King has basically just declared war on our pack because of our mates when they refused to hand us over, that alone deserves merit and a right for them to know what they'll be up against replies Artemis truthfully.

Sighing, I move to push away all my fears for a moment as my eyes return back to Elise and Cara, "Thank you for telling me, but no I was not made aware of this...but there's something you need to know as do my mates, so please before you go back to your packs allow me to explain a few things back in Alpha Alarick's Office" I say hoping they would give me just a few more minutes of their time as I move to jump out of bed, rushing to get changed before we headed back towards the pack house.

Please, let this be the tipping factor in who wins in the end, for I couldn't bare it we lost any more packs, come my thoughts as we quickly made are way for Alarick's office unaware the twins were having a meeting there as well. Chapter Comments
