Chapter 80

Eros POV

2 months had slowly began to tick by and during which, everyone was spending every ounce of free time that they had into training for after that day inside our father's office, it was decided that we would all train and prepare ourselves for when the Rogue King had finally showed up for Ares and I had sent a letter back to him, in which we told him we would never surrender our mate and that if he wanted her he would have to take her from our cold dead hands.

A promise we would make if it meant trying to protect our mate. A luxury we couldn't afford to lose especially with our mate getting bigger as the months went on for she was getting closer and closer to delivering our pups and so we made sure she wasn't able to do much in terms of training other than sit by and watch as everyone else did as she waddled around the training grounds.

'Our Mate is so beautiful' purrs Deimos, admiring her body as her belly grew and grew, the pups always growing as the months drew on.

'I completely agree with you' I say, unaware of Ares as he moves to sucker punch me dead square in the jaw, catching me completely off guard as I'm sent sprawling to the ground as I growl. Lucky bastard, I muse as I turn my eyes to him in a glare.

"Sorry, but you can't afford to be distracted, the Full Moon is literally a few weeks away and we need to practice if we want to keep our mate safe from Ezra, admits Ares as he moves to stand in front of me, his stance still firm as he waits for me to get back up. "Oh ya? Well not as sorry as I'm going to be when I do this" I say just as I move to tackle him, surprising him slightly as I move to grab at his legs sending him down towards the ground as well.

Shocked by my actions we both move to fight for dominance over the other, for while we might be brothers and Alpha's we were also training and sparring whenever we could, not wasting the time given to us over trivial things as father agreed to help with Alpha duties a little while longer in order for us to train.

"Got to do better than that brother" remarks Ares as he moves to flip them over, pinning me to the ground, his eyes now stern as he looks down to me. "FOCUS! If I were anyone else you would have been dead. You need to clear your mind, Eros, and stop thinking of our mate, we'll have plenty of time to do that after Ezra is killed" growls Ares as he moves to get off me, helping me to my feet as he did.

"Sorry, it's just hard..As there isn't a day that doesn't go by that I don't replace myself thinking of her" I admit, my eyes shifting silently to our mate as she stood off to the side to watch as Kai, Lucas, Emma, Emily, Seth and Sam all fight as well, knowing fully well that everyone would give their lives for her if it meant that she and our pups would survive.

"I know it's hard, hell I do it all the time as does Zeus, but until Ezra is finally dealt with we can't afford to be careless, for if we are, then we'll surely die and that won't do either of us good when our mate gets taken from us once and for all" says Ares as he too moves to look at Athena, her body practically glowing as her baby bump grows.

"I know" I say in a whisper, my heart clenching at the thought of us failing at our task and Athena finally being taken from us.

Just then we move to see Alex and Rick, Alex having just returned a month ago after handling all the trails to those who harmed our mate to begin with, the outcome a rather sensitive subject as Alex never did tell Athena the results but when asked, it was hinted that they got what was coming to them, in which Collin and Brian were both demoted from Beta to that of Omega status along with Shane and David, Diana having been indeed pregnant with Jacob's child was basically immune to any sort of punishment however minor her role was in everything leading up to Athena's rejection held by Jacob and then Beta Leah, Collins mate and another person who treated our mate poorly, for she too was demoted and sent to live as an Omega as well.

'Serves them right for hurting our mate, although I would have given them death instead' grumbles Deimos, not scared to admit that he wanted them dead, each and every one of them.

'So would I pal, but remember these are Athena's only other living relatives besides Lycan King Alexander and Alpha Rick, and without them Athena would have no one but us' I explain, hoping he would have pity on them slightly as it would seem Alex had also taken pity on them for while he too had wanted to kill them, he knew that if Athena had somehow managed to replace out, not only would she be upset but she would more than likely stop talking to her only other relatives.

Deciding then not to pick a fight at this very moment, our focus moves to stay on Alex and Rick as both move to approach us. "Ah Ares, Eros, just the two we wanted to see" replies Rick, his voice low so as not to alert Athena of anything just yet as she continued to watch Kai and the others. "Alpha Rick, Lycan King Alexander" both Ares and I say in unison our eyes still trained on our mates uncles.

"Please we're family now, just call us by our names" replies Rick with a tease, his lips tugging at a smirk as he moves to grace us with his presence.

"Of course, Rick, what can we do for you?" asks Ares again, curious as to why the males were here.

Glancing to one another, both subtly nod before speaking yet again, "It's about combing the packs, Alex and I both feel that Athena is ready to start her journey into taking over the packs and while we understand the dangers with the upcoming war, we have both decided that we would begin the merge during the training so that by the time the war came around, everyone would feel more comfortable enough to be around each other as my pack is a bit more unique" admits Rick knowing how his pack was indeed different than most wolfs for he had other species as well like Fae, witch and dragon all living there as well.

Looking to Ares, I try to gage his thoughts his eyes showing nothing of the sort as we listen to them voice their opinions for we had talked about combining each of our packs together to make it one as both her uncles were ready to pass the torch but it was Athena we were worried about, for while she was indeed an Alpha and a Luna, her lack of knowledge with the packs were what kept us from doing so

before the war.

'Trust mate' purrs Deimos, who knew our mate would move to do great things once the merge was complete.

'Of course I trust mate' I tell him, annoyed he thought I didn't.

'Prove it then' was all he said, just as Ares spoke again.

"But of course, our father and mother have been working day and night to make sure the accommodations are all set and done for when we merge, making sure enough homes and space were created for those who needed it" admits Ares who knew that our parents were also helping Alex and Rick with accommodating with people's needs and wants.

"Thank you my boy" sighs Alex who was worried there wouldn't be enough room for while the Mystic Shadow pack was big, we didn't have tons of empty houses which meant our parents were currently in the midsts of building and expanding out homes and area so that the others from the other two packs had a place to live.

"Anytime Alex, your pack as well as Rick's are in good hands" I say with a smile, hoping to ease their worries as we quickly finish up the last bit of business before deciding it would be fun if we sparred with Athena's uncles, the very ones who were just as eager as we too finally be able to fight with us since the beginning when they learnt we had become mates to their niece.

Grinning, Rick moves to throw the first punch and that was how the rest of the day had gone, each of taking turns taking, throwing punches and placing kicks as we continued with our training sessions for soon the Full Moon would be upon us as well as the fight to see who would end up with Athena as theirs, once and for all.
