Ximena's

POV

I felt the duvet I had covered myself with being pulled away. I groaned.

"Kids, let me sleep. I had a really long night," I muttered tiredly.

"Did you know?" I flipped my eyes open when I heard that voice. I hurriedly stood up to be met with four piercing eyes. "Ria, John. You are here, so early," I said in surprise.

"We are bound to be here since you never picked up any of our calls yesterday. Where were you?" John asked seriously. "I'm sorry about that. I was so busy..."

"Busy being on a date with the triplets," he said, cutting me off. Ria sat on the bed with a sigh.

"H..how did you know about that?" I inquired in surprise. Although I already had a clue as to who told them and it started with an M.

"It doesn't matter. What matters is you still went ahead to give them an audience after everything. Don't you ever learn?" he asked angrily. I had already made up my mind the other day to tell the boys about how I really felt but I changed my mind and gave them a chance to prove themselves after getting discouraged by John.

"Honey, calm down," Ria said.

"How can I calm down when Emma has refused to make herself happy?" he inquired.

"I am happy. The triplets make me happy. I know more than anyone what they did. It hurt me the most. It still hurts anytime I think about it, right here," I said pointing at my chest, my voice breaking in the end. I took a deep breath to calm myself down. "Don't you think I tried? I tried hard to let them go and forget about them but it felt like I let a part of myself go. Even when I lost my memories, I couldn't bring myself to move on. I...I'm in love with them John, I always have been and I can't change that no matter how hard I try. It might sound pathetic but that's how I feel," I confessed.

"Oh Emma, come here," Ria sighed, pulling me into a hug. "It's not pathetic and nobody blames you for how you feel. They are your mates after all. You can't make your heart choose who to love," she sniffled. I looked up at her.

"Are you crying? I thought you hated their guts?" I asked in surprise.

"I still do. It's the hormones making me do silly things," she said, wiping her tears away. I laughed. John ran his hand through his hair.

"I hate to admit but I also noticed a couple of changes in them too. I do hope it's real this time. I really want you to be happy, you deserve it. If they do anything stupid and hurt you and the kids this time around, I would end them. I'm serious, I don't care who they are anymore," he said seriously.

"Count me in on that babe," Ria replied. I chuckled.

"Fine but you both have to promise me that you won't act like you want to kill them anymore anytime you see them. Promise?" I asked skeptically.

"We will try our best," he responded.

"John," I whined.

"Fine only if they behave," he agreed. I smiled. It was really nice to know someone looked out for me to this extent.

"We need to leave now. We came to check up on you. I'm late for work," he said.

"Alright Mr. Professor, bye," I teased.

"Common honey," he said, holding onto Ria's hand.

"Don't forget our appointment on Monday," I called out as John led her out.

"Never," Ria replied.

"Walk carefully honey," John said gently. I stared at their retreating back with a smile. It felt like just yesterday when they walked into my office. After a few more tests, I found out what the problem was and here we are today already five weeks pregnant. I was truly happy for them. They finally got what they really wanted. I heard my phone ringing. I glanced at it to see it was Alex. I picked it up.

"Good morning gorgeous," he said in a deep husky voice.

"Morning," I replied with a shy smile. I twirled my hair on my fingers. Just hearing his voice was already making me feel giddy like a young high school girl.

"How was your night?" he asked.

"It was fine and yours?" I replied.

"It was okay but it would have been better with you by our side," he responded. I bit my fingers shyly. I wasn't even looking at him and I was already feeling this way.

"You don't have work today right?" he asked.

"I don't," I said.

"Get ready then. We will be at your place in five minutes. We are on our way. See you soon," he said and hung up. Five minutes? I was already panicking. How did they expect me to get ready in five minutes? I hurriedly ran into the bathroom to take a bath. After that, I took out a gown from my closet, blow-dried my hair, and applied a little lip gloss. It was sunny, so I left my face natural. Just when I slipped on my shoes and picked up my bag, I heard the doorbell ringing.

"Right on time," I thought to myself heading downstairs. I pulled the door open trying to hide my excitement. My face met with a bouquet of beautiful red roses.

"Roses for the most beautiful woman we've ever met," Julian said, handing them over to me with a smile. Alex and Philip waved at me from the car. Damn! It should be a crime to look this handsome. I thought. "Thank you," I smiled, feeling my cheeks growing warm.

"Shall we?" he asked, holding out his hand.

"We shall," I replied, taking his outstretched hands. The twins were at the amusement park with their nanny. I got into the front with Alex after Julian got the door for me.

"Where are we going this time?" I asked curiously.

"To the mall!" they all replied out loud. I chuckled. Alex started the car and we drove off.

"You must be having the time of your life," Freya said.

"I am," I replied happily.

"So, what have you decided?" she inquired.

"Not now Freya, let's worry about that later. Right now, all I want to do is enjoy the moment," I said to her.

"Are you okay?" Alex asked.

"I'm fine," I replied with a smile. We got to the mall soon enough and again it was empty except for the saleslady. Even though they said it was because they wanted to be alone with me, I knew it was because they knew that I was uncomfortable with being on articles. They were public figures and people would be bound to see us together and take a picture which was one of the things I would have to learn to deal with if I decide to be with them. "Welcome to..."

"You don't need to show us around. We will pick out everything we want by ourselves," Alex cut her off.

"Yes Alpha," the saleslady replied, walking back to stand with the others.

"That reminds me. John and Ria send their greetings," I said as we walked to the clothing area.

"I'm sure it definitely wasn't a greeting," Julian replied. I laughed.

"It wasn't," I responded.

"He hates our guts. If glares could kill, we all would have been long gone from the ones we receive from both of them," Philip shuddered.

"You won't have to receive any more glares if you don't do anything wrong," I said.

"That, you don't have to worry about," he replied. "Why don't you try this out?" he said, giving me a pile of clothes.

"Are you trying to wear me out?" I gasped.

"If it's going to be stressful for you, let's just buy everything," Julian suggested.

"Or should we just buy the whole mall?" Alex added. I stared at them in disbelief.

"We forgot to add, Mother and father knew about the twins and they were hoping to meet them. They are inviting you and the kids to dinner, that's if you want to come," Philip said. "They know about the twins?" I asked in surprise.

"They do, we told them yesterday but if the pressure is too much, we can tell them. They will be willing to wait," Alex replied.

"I can't do that. They are the twins' grandparents. But, I'm booked for the rest of this week. Will next week be okay?" I inquired.

"Next week is perfect. They will be thrilled when we tell them," Julian said with a smile.

"Great then. Meanwhile, I will try some of this on. I don't want you buying the entire mall," I said, taking the dresses and heading towards the changing room.

"Be quick, babe. We have more surprises coming up," Philip called out to me. I walked into the changing room with a smile. Is this what peace feels like? Not having to look over my shoulder every single time. The world seemed more colorful and meaningful. The boys and the kids add more meaning to my life. I felt like I had taken a step forward and I was genuinely happy.
