Owned By Her Triplet Bullies
(Bk 2) Chapter 8

Lexi's POV

I stormed towards my locker furiously and took a perfume spray. I started to spray it all over my body to get rid of his scent and touch. The scene where he grabbed me flashed through my eyes again and I screamed out banging my head on my locker in regret. "How could I have thought of an enemy like that? Warm? Nice and masculine? Actually, liking his scent and twirling around in nature? How ridiculous!" I scoffed at my earlier thoughts.

"Lexi," Mady called out walking towards me. I turned towards her. I took in a deep breath, staring into her smiling face always seemed to calm me down. She must be specially sent by the moon goddess to alleviate all stress that being mated to Mason put me through.

"I'm sorry I couldn't come back to the cafeteria," I replied not wanting to delve in any further.

"It's okay. Why are you holding that?" she curiously pointed to the spray. I glanced at it.

"A bug crawled its way up my body. I was just trying to disinfect," I responded. She furrowed her brows in confusion.

"Why aren't you in our next class? I was just about to go in," I said. She walked towards me and linked her arm with mine.

"Let's skip class and get some ice cream. Please," she pleaded with a pout. I chuckled.

"I thought you would never ask. Nothing will make me happier than to get some air right now," I replied. She squealed excitedly. We both headed out of the school premises and started to walk down the road.

"Why do you look so mad?" she asked after a while. I glanced at her in surprise.

"How do you know I was mad?" I'm sure I kept my emotions in check. She smiled widely.

"Although I've only known you for a few days, I can tell when something is wrong. You are like an open book Lexi, your thoughts aren't that hard to figure out," she said.

"Really?" I asked. She shook her head. If what she said was true then this is going to be a huge problem for me in the future.

"Are you still upset about that boy you talked about?" she asked.

"I am but let's not talk about him. I don't want him to ruin our mood," I replied. She nodded.

"Let's go over there," she pointed to an ice cream shop excitedly. She pulled me along until we stopped in front of the shop.

"Wow," she muttered, her eyes twinkling as she stared at the different colorful flavors. I stared at her in amusement. She looked as innocent as a little child. She bought three different flavors whipped up in one cone while I bought just two flavors. I had gotten one initially but she complained non-stop about how boring it was. I had no other choice but to add another one. We both sat on a swing right outside the ice cream shop. She moaned delightfully after taking a first bite.

"Are you that happy to be having ice cream?" I asked curiously. She nodded.

"I haven't had this in a while because I've been on a diet but today is my cheat day," she responded happily.

"I see," I said.

"Isn't it so delicious?" she asked.

"It is," I replied absent-mindedly. Looking at her now, I felt so guilty. I had judged her and thought of her badly before I even got a chance to talk to her. She was one of the purest souls I've ever met.

"I'm sorry," I blurted out. She glanced towards me.

"What for?" she asked.

"I labeled you a wealthy, rude, stuck-up, and pretty b***h who thought the world revolved around her when I saw you for the first time," I explained. She sat silently for a while.

"Wow, those are a lot of colorful words," she muttered. I felt worse. Horrible even.

"I'm so sorry for that. It's okay if you don't forgive me and never want to see me again. I totally understand..."

"Calm down Lexi, I was only joking. It's fine," she cut me off patting me on the shoulder lightly.

"It is?" I asked skeptically.

"Yes, I understand where you are coming from. Most people I meet think the same way too. They might think I don't notice from the way they treat me but I do. That's why I never had any close friends. Thank you for telling me, you are the first person to admit that to my face and that shows how much of a good person you are. It's fine as long as you don't think so anymore. Your perception of me is still not the same right?" she inquired. I shook my head vehemently.

"Of course not. You are the sweetest and kindest person I've ever met," I hurriedly replied. She giggled.

"Are you really sure it's okay?" I asked.

"It's fine. You don't have to worry. Time ran by so fast," she said, glancing at her wristwatch.

"Oh no! I must have missed the school bus by now," I replied worriedly.

"I'm so sorry. This is my fault. How about we go to my house together and then I can have someone drop you off at yours. My place is not that far from here," she responded.

"Can I really come over?" I inquired.

"Of course. You are my friend now," she said with a smile.

"Then, I would love to," I answered with a smile.

"Let's go," she held my hand as we both walked together. We laughed and chatted as we walked back to school. It felt good to finally have someone I could call a friend. We stopped in front of a sleek black car in front of the school gate. We both got in and the driver drove off. Soon enough, we arrived. I stepped out of the car, my eyes wide open in awe. If I had thought Mady's parents were rich before, I was wrong. They were filthy rich. The exquisite house was a sight to behold. "Welcome back miss," some ladies dressed in the same uniform greeted me. She responded and they took her bag and mine. We took off our shoes and slipped on comfortable flip-flops.

"You have such a beautiful place," I said.

"Thank you. You like it?" she asked with a smile.

"I love it," I replied excitedly. She chuckled.

"I will be right back. I need to check on something," she informed me. I nodded. She left and I continued to look around. I walked to the back of the house and there was a huge swimming pool right outside. I ran towards it and dipped my hand in it. It was so cold that I squealed and hurriedly removed it. I glanced around and I noticed someone sitting on a chair. His back was turned to me so I couldn't see his face. I walked towards him curiously wondering who it was.

"Refill my glass," he ordered. I stilled when I heard his voice. My heart literally stopped for a moment.

"Didn't you hear...," he glanced back and his eyes met with mine. He sprang up from his seat.

"What are you doing here? Don't tell me you followed me here to apologize for your behavior earlier?" he asked, walking towards me.

"Why would I apologize? You followed me here, didn't you? Firstly a pervert and now a stalker?" I asked in disbelief.

"Pervert? Stalker? What nonsense. This is my house so that would make you the stalker," he retorted.

"Aside from being a pervert and a stalker, are you also an impersonator? This is my friend's house and she invited me over!" I yelled at him.

"Which friend? Who's your friend?" he inquired. I was about to respond when...

"Lexi? There you are. I've been looking everywhere for you," Mady said, walking towards me with a smile. I hurriedly ran to her and held her hand.

"Mady? What is this boy doing here?" I asked her skeptically. I just hope it wasn't what I was thinking.

"Which boy?" she inquired.

"Mady, it's good that you are here. Who let this girl in?" he asked coldly.

"I see you both have met already. Mason, this is my friend, Lexi," she introduced.

"Don't tell me you both are going out?" I asked nervously. It would make sense. A pretty rich girl and a wealthy boy, they were a perfect match but I hope it's not true. Honestly, Madison could do better. "What? Ewww! Why would I go out with my brother?" she asked, looking.

"B...brother?" I stuttered thinking I misheard.

"Yes, Mason is my brother. Well, twin brother to be precise. Why? Do you know him?" she asked curiously. My day had just taken a turn for the worse. If they were dating, I would have had hope of them breaking up and I would never have to see his face again but twin brother? They were stuck together. Forever.

"You are joking, right? This can't be true," I muttered as I backed away from the both of them.

"Lexi, be careful!" she called out. I screamed when I slipped and fell into the pool with a thud.
