Owned By Her Triplet Bullies -
(Bk 2) Chapter 13
Mason's
POV
I was standing behind Torres who was welcoming guests with a wide smile on his face. I took a sip from my glass of water feeling bored. It was quite obvious from my expression. Loud music, alcohol, students dancing, and couples making out. It was the same old high school party. I've seen this continuous cycle so many times that I could narrate how the night was going to play out even in my sleep.
"You are drinking water again? This is a party, my party. Don't ruin the vibes. Have some alcohol man," he whined, stretching out a drink towards me.
"I don't drink and I never will," I replied nonchalantly. He smiled and placed his hands behind my shoulder.
"There are so many pretty girls here tonight. I took special care in inviting people. You must be stressed from all those boring quizzes right? Tell me which of them you want," he said excitedly.
"Do you know what I really want?" I asked him.
"No, I don't. Tell me quickly, and I will give it to you," he urged.
"Take your hands off me and stop talking already," I replied. He sighed.
"How come you haven't changed at all? I worry for you, my friend. Is this how you are going to be cold towards your mate? Poor girl, I can feel her pain already," he said as he shook his head at me. Poor girl? I scoffed inwardly. If only he knew she was the one who hated me to the core.
"Why do you look like that?" he asked, peering into my face.
"Look like what?" I inquired. Torres was a very persistent and attentive person. I hope he doesn't replace out about Lexi. I didn't want anyone to replace out just yet.
"Like something is going on that I don't know about. You gave me that expression when I mentioned your mate. Tell me quickly, I hate being kept in the dark," he probed.
"There's nothing going on. You must have had too much alcohol," I replied. He snickered as he continued to entertain his guests while I stood silently. A girl walked up to me.
"Mason? Would you like to dance?" she asked. I could tell she was nervous from the way her voice quivered.
"No," I responded curtly without as much as a glance in her direction. I've rejected so many advances that I've lost count. Torres shook his head at me. The music stopped abruptly giving me instant relief. Torres's voice was the next thing I heard. "No way! Is that you Rachel?" he exclaimed in shock.
I frowned when I didn't see anyone. "Are you drunk?" Everyone began to whisper things till her face came into view. It was really her.
"Rachel? I'm not dreaming right?" Torres asked in disbelief.
"I can see you are still as dramatic as ever Torres," she replied with a smile.
"Wow! How long has it been?" he asked.
"Roughly seven years," she responded.
"It's been so long. Good to see you again," he said as they both exchanged hugs.
"It's great to see you too," she replied with a chuckle.
"Who do we have here?" Mady inquired as she walked towards us with her arms crossed.
"Mady," she called out with a smile as she moved to hug her but Mady made no move to reciprocate the gesture instead she frowned. Rachel halted and gently pulled back. Our living room was now entirely quiet. Everyone gathered around and watched us curiously. "How can you disappear for so long without even showing your face at least once around here?" Mady asked in an upset tone.
"I'm sorry. Are you upset?" Rachel asked skeptically.
"Of course I'm upset. Sorry isn't going to make up for it," she replied.
"I'm really sorry. I'm here now and I'm going to spend the rest of my time here making up for everything. Please don't be mad," she pleaded. Mady huffed and looked away.
"I wanted to come back so many times but I couldn't. I'm sorry again," she said sadly. Mady disentangled her hands and looked toward her.
"Come here. We all missed you," she said with a smile. Mady pulled her into a tight hug and Rachel squealed.
"I've missed you too. So, you've forgiven me?" she inquired curiously.
"Not completely but we will see how it goes. You said for as long as you were here, are you planning on staying here in Crescent pack?" Mady asked. She got out of Mady's embrace. "I don't know. I can only stay if you want me here," she said as she stared intently at me. I looked away.
"What are you talking about? You are always welcome here. By the way, why did you show up here all of a sudden? It's been seven whole years. Why today?" Mady inquired. "Torres was throwing a party. How could I miss that for anything in the world?" she responded with a smile.
"Finally someone that knows my true worth. Can you hear that Mason? Rachel flew all the way here just for my party," he bragged. I looked away without saying anything. "Turn the music on!" Torres ordered loudly. The music started again and people cheered as they began to dance. Rachel moved away from Torres and Mady.
"Hi," she said with a smile as she walked towards me.
"Hi," I replied.
"It's been a long time," she said.
"It has," I responded.
"It's nice to see you again," she said. I nodded.
"Excuse me," I said to her before walking outside. The fresh air immediately cooled my hot skin. It was beginning to get stuffy in there. I glanced up at the rooftop.
"Lyall? You think you can get us up there?" I asked.
"Of course. What do you take me for," he grumbled. I fixated my gaze on the roof and I leaped up landing right on it. I took a seat and glanced up at the sky. The stars were twinkling and the moon shone brightly. It felt serene and I felt at peace. This was my favorite place out of everywhere else in the whole house. I suddenly heard shuffling. I looked back sharply but I didn't see anyone.
It was probably my imagination. There won't be anyone crazy enough to climb the roof of my house, I thought until I saw her. The only person crazy enough to climb a roof.
"Lexi?" I called out in surprise. She was kneeling at the far end of the roof with her back turned against me. She quickly turned around when she heard me speak. "You again? Apart from being a pervert, are you also a stalker now?" she said as she stumbled towards me.
"What the f**k are you talking about? This is my house. Why would I stalk anyone in my house?" I inquired.
"Why can't you just leave me alone? Is it that hard for you to believe that not every girl is going to fall at your feet?" she asked, her eyes staring at me angrily. "Are you drunk?" I asked.
"I didn't have any alcohol," she replied rudely, but her unsteady eyes and stumbling around told me otherwise.
"You drank," I said.
"I said I didn't drink. I only had a glass of juice," she insisted, raising one of her fingers up to signify what she was saying. Juice?.
"Are you dumb? Don't you know anything apart from water at a high school party is definitely alcohol? That juice was spiked," I said, watching her stumbling figure.
"No, it was definitely juice," she said to herself. Her words were slurry.
"Just how many glasses of juice did she drink?" I mumbled. She looked so drunk but that wasn't any of my business. She should have known what she was getting herself into when she came to this party. I turned around ready to jump back down. She had succeeded in ruining my quiet and peaceful moment.
I looked down at the floor and we were very high up. What if she tries to jump down and ends up hurting herself badly? She might end up getting us all in trouble. I sighed and turned around to take her along. I was only doing this for our well-being, not hers. My eyes widened when I saw her trying to get down by the other end of the roof.
"For f**k's sake," I muttered under my breath.
I ran towards her quickly and pulled her back. She crashed on my chest and we both rolled over onto the floor. I groaned when my back hit the floor hard. She chuckled looking up at me with dazed eyes.
"It's Mason. The Mason I hate with all my heart. I absolutely detest him. My..stupid..mate," she slurred her words pushing my forehead with her finger as she said each word. She hates me even when she is drunk? But, she doesn't know me. She suddenly gagged. My eyes widened.
"Get off me," I ordered, not wanting to think about what she wanted to do. She held onto my shirt tightly. I tried to push her off without hurting her but her grip was too firm.
"I feel like throwing up," she informed me.
"Get off me right now," I said in a panicking tone. She gagged again and suddenly threw up all over me. I stared up at the midnight sky clenching my fist and unmoving.
