Owned By Her Triplet Bullies
(Bk 2) Chapter 46

Mason's

POV

"What's there to talk about?" she asked with a raised brow.

"The fact that we are mates. It's a bond that we can't ignore forever," I replied.

"Really? Watch me then," she said in a serious tone.

"What is wrong with you? Why does the idea of being with me irk you so much?" I inquired because at that point I was genuinely confused. This...what was going on between us was completely different from how the idea of replaceing my mate had played out in my head. I had thought if we met, I would explain my situation to her and she would understand or might not understand. Anyway, I expected some sort of reaction, not nonchalance, rudeness, and detachment.

"Why are you making this discussion about me? How about you? If you were so proud of replaceing your mate, why didn't you tell your parents or your girlfriend?" she responded angrily.

"Is this jealousy or something else? We are talking about us, Why do you keep bringing Rachel into it?" I asked equally as angry. I was usually a very calm person but since I met her, she awakened a certain part of me that I never knew existed. And it seems she was the only one that ever got to see that part.

"Why would I be jealous? I have to talk about her too since she's part of your life. How did this mate issue come up? You don't want me as your mate and I also don't want you. It's as simple as that. Let's keep it that way," she retorted.

"You think I don't want you? I never said that. I should be the one asking you why you keep repeating the fact that you hate me. Everyone knows that..."

"I don't hate you alone! I hate all men in general! You all are liars and cheats. Why can't you understand that and leave me the f**k alone!" she yelled at me. I stared at her in surprise. That was new. All this while, I thought it was only me and maybe I did something wrong but it turned out I was wrong. I started to put the pieces together. First, she got scared thinking I was going to hit her. There was also the conversation between our wolves where it seemed like she was holding back, and now this.

"Have you been in an abusive relationship? Or are you still in one? Did your boyfriend hit you?" I asked through gritted teeth. Why does the thought of someone laying their hands on her make me so angry?

She breathed in shakily. "Let's go. I don't want to stay here anymore. I'm not having this conversation with you."

"Sorry to disappoint you but your words just piqued my interest. We are definitely having this conversation," I replied. She turned towards the window.

"Look at me," I muttered.

"Why would I do that? I told you I won't ever take any orders from you," she responded.

"This proves that you are scared. I was right," I said.

She snorted. "Don't flatter yourself. You've never been right about anything."

"Then look at me and say it. Stare into my eyes and tell me that whatever I'm thinking isn't true. I dare you," I declared.

"I haven't and will never be in an abusive relationship," she remarked, turning towards me. I glanced at her fingers which were trembling. She quickly held them with her other hand.

"You are lying. You avoided my gaze and your hands are trembling," I said. She glared at me angrily.

"It's not..."

"Are you going to tell me, it's a hand tremor?" I inquired sarcastically.

"Are you starting the car or do you want me to get down?" she asked swiftly, changing the topic. I realized we'd been packed along a lonely and dark road all this time while we were arguing. I started the ignition and drove off. I had my answer and there was no need for her to say anything. She had been in an abusive relationship. It wasn't a surprise that she hated me so much on our first meeting. We finally got to her house and immediately I stopped, she tried to unfasten her seatbelt and open the door at the same time. When that wasn't working, she tried to unfasten the belt with both her hands but it still didn't budge.

"Let me help you. It's stuck," I said, unfastening mine and leaning towards her.

"I don't need you..," she paused when she realized I had unfastened it.

"You could have gotten hurt," I started moving away. But I stopped directly in front of her cleavage. Her breath hitched and the rise and fall of her chest meaning she was nervous was very obvious.

"Are you nervous around me?" I whispered, staring into her eyes. She was forced to look back. She couldn't look away. My intense gaze lingered on her, studying her expression and movements. I noticed a subtle change in the way she gazed at me.

"I'm not," she replied firmly. I glanced at her soft pink lips wondering how it would feel to place mine on them. What was wrong with me and my train of thought? I have never been the type to think about anyone in such a lewd way no matter how tempting they looked.

"Again, you lied. Your hands are still trembling," I whispered, placing my hand on hers. I gently caressed her soft hands with my thumb and she closed her eyes.

"What are you doing?" she muttered.

"You don't need to feel scared or nervous around me. I will never hurt you no matter what," I assured her. The feelings I had intensified when I placed my hand on her. It felt like sparks. Her rosy scent tickled my nostrils and I wanted to get closer to the scent. I glanced at her slender and pale neck that was covered by her hair. I gently brushed her hair from her neck. She whimpered, her eyes still shut tightly.

I leaned into her neck and trailed my nose over it, groaning softly.

"I didn't want to deny you in front of my family," I whispered into her ear. Her cheeks and neck flared up.

"I have my reasons for doing that and maybe if you listened to me silently for even a second. You will understand," I continued. My mouth touched her ear by mistake and she jumped.

"Please stop. Whatever you are doing to me, stop it," she pleaded desperately. There were creases on her forehead and her hand was clenched tighter. It looked like she was trying to restrain herself. I removed my hands that were on hers and pulled back. "I'm sorry if you felt uncomfortable. I don't know what happened..," She cut me off by opening the door and stepping out slamming it behind her. I watched her storming towards the front door. I groaned, placing my head on the steering wheel. I got close to her first without getting irritated. That was a first. I had girlfriends in the past but none of them ever lasted long enough because I got bored and tired. I tried to make it work but it just didn't.

I started the car and drove home turning the volume of the music up to distract me from my thoughts. When I arrived, the guests were leaving but most of them already did. The number of cars parked in the parking lot decreased a lot. I headed inside and there were people already cleaning. I was on my way upstairs to my room when I saw my parents sitting at the dining table and conversing. Mady was nowhere in sight.

"Where are you coming from?" Father Julian asked.

"I went out to get some air. It was beginning to get stuffy in here," I replied.

"With your car keys?" Father Philip added.

"I went out for a drive while I was at it," I responded.

"I hope you got enough air because we need to have a serious conversation. Follow us," Father Alex added, getting up on his feet.

"Remember what we discussed. Don't be harsh on him," mum pleaded.

"When have we ever been? You have nothing to worry about," he assured her. I walked ahead of them and stepped into the office. I took a seat and closed my eyes, leaning into the chair. "Explain what happened at the party today," Father Alex said as soon as he walked in.

I shrugged. "I already told everyone. I had to use the bathroom."

"And it had to be at that exact same time," Father Julian said.

"Can't deny nature now, can I?" I asked. I was still angry about what I saw earlier and I definitely was not going to make this conversation easy for any of them. Father Alex banged his hand on the table. "You are acting unfazed again! How many times have I told you never to act like that when you've done something wrong? Do you have any idea what was at stake today!" he growled.

"I have no idea. Care to explain?" I asked with a yawn.
