Purchased A Mr. Right -
Chapter 1048
On Sunday afternoon, at the house of the Hsu family.
In her slippers, Anthea went up to the second floor orderly. When she came to the innermost room, she smiled and knocked on the open door twice.
Inside, Master Hsu was sitting on a chair drinking tea, dressed in a black Tai Chi suit, and looked very spirited.
"Anthea?" Master Hsu said in surprise when he saw her.
"Grandpa!" Anthea greeted sweetly.
Master Hsu smiled and quickly reached out his hand to her, "What brings you here today? Before, I have to call you many times to persuade you to come to visit me. I didn't expect you to come without me having to ask you."
Anthea looked a little embarrassed and explained bashfully, "Didn't you say last time that you wanted me to visit you more to chat with you?"
"If you don't want me to stay, then I'm leaving." She deliberately pouted.
"Don't go, you clever girl!" Master Hsu laughed happily. He pulled her to sit on an old-fashioned wooden armchair next to him and warmly poured her a cup of warm tea, "Is the school over?" "Yes," Anthea nodded.
After the last class, she didn't even return to her dormitory and directly left school.
"You are in your third year in high school. You barely have a holiday and even have to attend classes for half a day on Sunday." Master Hsu enjoyed the sweet time with his granddaughter very much. After saying that, he couldn't help saying, "It's not easy for you to come here, Anthea. Spend more time with grandpa today and have dinner before you go?"
Every time he invited her for dinner before, Anthea would replace all kinds of excuses to refuse.
Knowing that she would feel uncomfortable every time she came to the Hsu family, Master Hsu was going to tell her that no one else was at home tonight to make her at ease. Before he was about to say that Madam Jiles and her youngest son went to the relatives of her mother's family, he saw her nod, "Okay..."
Master Hsu looked somewhat surprised.
Unexpectedly, Anthea agreed. Master Hsu felt happier, smiled even more, and said, "Haha, I'll tell the kitchen to make more dishes later. They will be all your favorite!"
"Thank you, Grandpa!" Anthea said with a sweet voice.
Anthea stayed with Master Hsu for the whole afternoon. In the evening, the kitchen had prepared a sumptuous meal.
Although Anthea and Master Hsu were eating alone, there were eight dishes and one soup, which were much tastier than the food in the cafeteria. Anthea also enjoyed the food very much, but she chewed very slowly. From time to time, she glanced at the door as if she was waiting for something.
By the time every second had passed, Master Hsu had already drunk up the nourishing soup brought by the servants.
When Anthea slowly put down the chopsticks, a servant's voice came.
"Master, young master Adam is here!"
Anthea couldn't help but straighten her back a little.
Hearing that, Master Hsu smiled more and quickly ordered, "Invite him in quickly. Make a pot of tea and send it to the living room!"
Anthea supported Master Hsu to walk to the living room. After they just sat down, there were steady footsteps from far to near. With her eyes lowered, Anthea saw a pair of black military boots, each of which was meticulously tied, giving an air of
strictness just as their owner did.
His camouflage pants and trouser legs were all stuffed in boots. Because of the warm weather, he did not wear a jacket but only an army-green shirt. His face defined, and his eyes were cold and stern, with a powerful aura.
"Adam, when did you come back?" Master Hsu asked with a smile.
"This morning," after saying that, Adam put a white paper bag on the tea table. "A few days ago, I was given two good boxes of tea. My father kept one and said that you were also fond of the tea, so he asked me to send the rest to you!"
"Well, Adam, thank you and your dad!" Master Hsu grinned happily. His appreciation and satisfaction for Adam were beyond words.
Rory had passed away for more than two years, making Adam wifeless when he was still young. Although Adam was in the army all year-round, as long as he returned to Ice city, he would visit Master Hsu when he had time. He was like a son to him.
Most importantly, Master Hsu was very fond of Adam.
Master Hsu seemed to have just thought of something, tilted his head to look at Anthea, and asked, "Anthea, why didn't you say hi to Adam?"
Seeing that Adam was looking at her, Anthea said in a low voice, "Hi, Adam..."
"Hi," Adam replied lightly.
Master Hsu got used to Adam's reticence and took the initiative to ask again, "Adam, I heard that you came back on vacation this time. Will you stay a little longer?"
"Yes," Adam nodded.
"Don't work too hard. Although you are young, you should keep yourself healthy!" Master Hsu said with concern, "I think not only are you tanned, but also you seem to have lost a lot of weight!" Adam said, "I am alright."
Hearing this, Anthea couldn't help but raise her head to look at him.
There was still no much expression on his face. He looked grim, not showing his joy or anger. But his facial features seemed to be more defined than before, and his eye sockets were deeper. There was a bandage on the right side of his neck, covering a scratch.
'The training in the army and practical maneuvers are very hard, aren't they?' Anthea thought to herself.
Adam didn't say much. Most of the time, he only answered Master Hsu's questions. However, the atmosphere was harmonious.
Before they could notice, the sky outside had already begun to fall dark. The servants turned on a few lamps.
After sitting there for about half an hour, Adam wanted to go back. Master Hsu nodded with a smile. His eyes turned, and he remembered that Anthea was still there. So he said, "Adam, please help me send my Anthea back to school!"
Adam's military green jeep was parked in the yard.
After the servants escorted them to the entrance hall, they respectfully nodded and left.
Adam walked ahead with a key in his hand. Then the unlocking sound rang out in the night.
When he turned around the front of the car and opened the door of the driver's seat, he saw Anthea stopped two steps away from Jeep, with her hands behind her back and her cheeks slightly bulging. She was looking at him.
Adam didn't understand and asked, "Why don't you get on the jeep?"
Anthea didn't move, keeping her posture without saying a word.
"You don't want me to drive you?" Adam slightly frowned when he saw this.
Seeing that she still did not answer, he muttered, "If you don't want to, I can..."
Anthea crossed her hands behind her back, took two steps forward, and complained, "Adam, why didn't you tell me when you came back?"
Adam didn't answer.
Biting her lips, Anthea kicked away the stone in the grass at her feet and said with her tone full of grievance and complaint, "Do you know that after you returned to the army, I have made a lot of phone calls to you? Your phone was always off! I've sent you text messages, but you haven't replied to a single one of them!"
