Purchased A Mr. Right -
Chapter 1090
"You teach me?" Anthea was stunned.
Adam responded by asking in a low voice, "What's wrong? Am I not as good as him in fighting?"
Anthea shook her head without even thinking. "Of course not..."
Declan was a recruit who had just joined the army for more than a year, while Adam was already a high-ranking officer who had an air of quiet authority wherever he went. His ability was way above Declan's and many others. That was why he could win his high position.
Her quick answer without thinking made Adam happy.
He smiled lightly but was deeply touched.
Adam gestured her over and said, "Then let's get started."
Five minutes ago, Declan had just said the same. In the blink of an eye, Adam became her tutor instead.
Anthea stood there in a daze. The thing changed so fast, and she felt it was hard to keep up.
The small wood was very quiet. There were specks of sunlight and shadows on the ground. When the
wind blew through, the leaves rustled.
When Declan taught her just now, she did not think much of it. She only took him as an instructor who taught her out of kindness. But now, as Adam stood before her, she felt that there was a certain chemistry between them.
It seemed that she would not learn combat moves from him but was on a date with him....
Adam walked to the empty space ahead of them and looked back at her from a distance. "Why are you still standing there? Come here."
Anthea walked over with her head down.
Adam said seriously, "I'm going to teach you a few easy and useful movements. Have you heard the forceful Tiger's Mouth strike? You can apply it to the neck or throat of your opponent. Extend your hand, and you can see your Tiger's Mouth, the area between your thumb and first finger, with the slightly curved space being like the mouth of a tiger. This strike is direct and fast. If you do it right, you can knock your opponent down in an instant. It can be as powerful as a heavy punch."
After that, he demonstrated the strike to her in person.
Anthea stood next to him and learned earnestly. However, sometimes, when breezes brought the attractive scent on him to her, her mind would wander, and she would lose track of what she was doing. Adam signaled to her and said, "You can replace a tree trunk to practice it."
"Okay!" Anthea nodded.
She found a very thin tree trunk, which she could neatly hold between her thumb and first finger. The bark was very smooth, so it would not prick her skin.
Anthea recalled what he had just done and practiced alone.
"Anthea, do you like Declan?"
Anthea smelt smoke as Adam's voice suddenly rang out.
She was stunned. Subconsciously, she wanted to explain, but she changed her mind when she thought of something. She then said slowly, "Unclein-law, this is my business!" "Do you want to have a boyfriend?" Adam breathed out a mouthful of smoke.
"Not for the time being," Anthea answered and thought for a moment. Though not intentionally, she added, "But if I meet someone I like, I won't refuse the fate!"
Adam said in a low voice, "He's not a suitable man for you."
Anthea pursed his lips.
Declan was not suitable. Did he mean he was the right man for her?
If it were in the past, she would have blurted out these words. But now, she dared not and could only mutter it in her heart.
She knew that he cared for her only because he was her uncle-in-law.
Anthea tried to focus on practicing.
Adam stood beside her and looked at her, saying, "Your posture is not right."
"What's wrong?" Anthea frowned.
She wanted to turn around, asking him how she could do it right. A shadow suddenly covered her from the top of her head, and then a strong chest leaned against her back.
Even though there were clothes between them, she could still feel his steady and powerful heartbeats. Anthea just stiffened up because they were too close. His military boots were lifted and stopped near her ankles.
Adam's shoulders were wide and firm. He wrapped her around his arms, making her seem even smaller.
He had dropped his cigarette and held her small hands in his big ones.
"First of all, stand upright. Then, push the ground with your left foot and shift your weight onto the right."
"Bend your right elbow and move it before your chest, and then make a quick attack."
Anthea let him move her limbs like a puppet.
When he taught her the movements, he almost took her whole body in his arms, and their shadows on the ground overlapped.
After some time, his voice came to her ears. "Anthea, have you learned how to do it?"
Anthea nodded blankly. "Yes, I have..."
The nice smell of him fascinated her. She blushed, her heart beating faster. As soon as he ended his guidance, she wanted to move aside to avoid. Unexpectedly, he suddenly put his arms around her waist. There was a little distance between them, but now, there was none.
"Don't move!"
Anthea held her breath at once.
She suddenly felt that he was touching her face.
Because of the frequent use of guns, the skin of his fingertips was quite rough. When he stroked her face, she even trembled slightly.
She did not know if he did it on purpose, but he touched her face with some lingering affection.
After a long while, Adam finally let go of her and said, "A hair was on the corner of your mouth. It's all right now."
"..." Anthea's face was burning.
Why did she feel he was flirting with her?
What a great military man! He was actually an absolute hooligan!
However, Adam, completely at ease, took out another cigarette, lit it up, and started to instruct her.
Half an hour later, they walked out of the small woods.
After the first strike, Adam taught her something more practical later on. For example, attacking the bad guy's weak points, such as shins or toe joints, could cause sharp pain. Also, he told her that it was important to replace the right time to attack when she was in danger.
Anthea listened with her eyes looking down, while Adam looked composed and relaxed. There was even a hint of laziness on his face. He seemed to be in a good mood.
Adam said to her, "Don't worry if you don't master the skill. Just practice more. I'll take some time to teach you, tomorrow or the day after tomorrow."
Anthea bit her lips, feeling shy as if his tough fingertips were still on her cheek, and said in a low voice, "No need. I'll ask Brother Declan to teach me!" Hearing this, Adam said nothing, but there was an indiscernible cunning expression flashing in his eyes.
When they walked back to the tent, someone hurried across the field.
When the person saw them, he immediately ran over. It was Carter. He did not even have the time to greet her. With a serious face, he said, "Captain Chin, something happened!" "What's wrong?" Adam asked seriously.
Carter hurriedly reported, "We found that a family of four trapped in the northwest and rescued them, but during the rescue, a young soldier accidentally fell into the flood and was washed away. Now the flood hasn't yet receded. Besides, a big dam is not a long way downstream. The moment the soldier fell into the strong currents, he disappeared instantly. Now we don't know where he has been washed to..." "Inform everyone to gather immediately. I'll bring some people over to look for him!" Adam frowned and said immediately.
"Captain Chin, you've just been injured, and the situation is very dangerous right now. Let me do it!" Carter said.
Adam's expression became very serious, and his voice was fierce and majestic. "I know it's dangerous. That's exactly why I have to go there in person! Inform others!" Anthea opened her mouth and wanted to say something, but his tall figure had already left quickly and disappeared from her sight in the blink of an eye.
She could not help nervously clenching her fists.
