Purchased A Mr. Right
Chapter 1093

He regretted it.

He should not have refused her so resolutely. He should have agreed to be with her when she confessed to him...

For the first time, Adam admitted that he regretted it.

Since he was a child, he had never regretted anything that he had done or any decisions that he had made. Especially when he became a soldier, he knew full well that there could be no turning back once a decision was made. Thus, he always looked forward and did not look back.

But now, he really regretted it.

It was his deep-hidden thought that had been suppressed in the depths of his heart for a long time. When it was spoken out, he actually felt a sense of relief.

Carter was confused. "Captain Chin?"

Adam did not answer him, his black eyes looking into the distance, but no one knew where he was looking.

He took a long draw on his cigarette.

White smoke swirled around his mouth and nose, blurring his chiseled face. After finishing one cigarette, his eyes were less gloomy, and he regained some composure.

Carter raised his head with a dazed look. "Captain Chin, what are you regretting? Can you make up for it?"

Hearing this, Adam threw the cigarette butt on the ground and put it out.

Adam looked aside. It seemed that Carter's words stirred up something in his heart.

Adam raised his hand and threw the convenient noodles box over. He said in a low voice, "Eat the instant noodles tomorrow morning. Don't waste it."

Carter, looking at the noodles pinched to pieces by Adam, did not know what to say.

Anthea just finished dealing with a child's inflammation wound and was packing up her medicine bag.

It was almost a week since she arrived at the disaster area.

Although the flood had not completely retreated, it was already half gone. There were fewer and fewer people who were sent to the rescue station. She saw few new wounded these days, which made her

feel relieved.

"Anthea!"

Leonardo, whose hair was all dyed blonde, rushed in.

Anthea, frightened, almost dropped the medicine bottle in her hand. She glared at him angrily and said, "Why are you in such a hurry? Aren't you afraid that Mr. Zanon will scold you? He just gave you a lesson this morning, telling you to stay calm!"

"Old Zanon? Oh, I think you are the only student that he likes!" Leonardo pursed his lips and snorted.

"Don't call him that. He is only in his fifties and not old at all. Besides, his medical skills are very good. You should pay more effort into learning from him. The four years of college will pass by quickly. Don't cry if you learn nothing by the time we graduate!" Anthea felt helpless.

"Fine, fine. He's a grand old man, all right?" Leonardo said in a voice dripping with sarcasm. He then knocked on the table and continued, "Let's not talk about him. I have something else to say to you!" Anthea rolled her eyes and went on packing her things.

Leonardo threw himself on the table in front of her and laughed with bad intentions. "Anthea, do you want to hear something about your uncle-in-law?"

"No!" Anthea pulled a long face.

"Then forget it. It's none of my business after all!" Leonardo raised his eyebrows high, lazily got up, and walked out.

Anthea bit her lip and said, "Golden Leonardo, come back!"

When Leonardo heard her, he immediately smirked and said, "Hey, little buddy, go on pretending that you don't care about him!"

Anthea was on the verge of losing her temper. "Say it now. If you keep teasing me like this, I'll be really angry!"

"Well, well, well!" Leonardo saw that she was really angry, so he quickly begged for mercy. After all, he had something important to tell her. "I just followed Mr. Zanon to the army camp to collect blood. I heard several soldiers saying that their rescue work here is almost over!

"The group of soldiers from special forces brought here by your uncle-in-law belong to the force for emergency rescue. This area was short of men, so they have been transferred here to help. However, because they are special force soldiers, they cannot stay here for a long time. They will hand over the rest to other troops and withdraw from Platan County this afternoon!" "So, he's going back?" Anthea was stunned, and her eyes widened slightly.

"Certainly!" Leonardo nodded.

Anthea clenched her fingers and asked, "Is the news true?"

"Of course, I heard it with my own ears!" His face was full of certainty.

However, Anthea dropped her eyelashes and continued to do her work after being silent for a few seconds. Leonardo was surprised and said, "Anthea, why are you still here? Won't you see him off? If you separate this time, maybe it will take another year to see him again!"

He was leaving.

This sentence echoed in Anthea's mind.

Her heart was filled with disappointment, but she held back her frustration. She shook her head and said in a muffled voice, "I'm not going..."

At her insistence, Leonardo stopped encouraging her to meet Adam.

The sun was setting in the west, and the night once again covered the world in shadow.

Anthea went to the settlement point for residents and helped his teacher Vincent distribute some antivirus oral liquid. Some diseases were easy to occur after natural disasters. Therefore, they had to take preventive measures in advance.

By the time she was done, it was already very late.

Anthea felt worn out. She did not know whether it was because she was too tired or in a bad mood.

Looking at the soldiers in camouflage walking past her from time to time, she smiled slightly. But when she failed to see Adam's tall and strong figure, she withdrew her gaze, feeling somewhat powerless. She hated to part with him.

After all, they had not seen each other for a year. This was an unexpected reunion.

Just as Leonardo said, it was not known when they would meet next time. Maybe it would take another year. Or perhaps, he was too happy in the south and did not want to be transferred back so that he would stay there for the rest of his life...

She was not reluctant to part with him, but she did not feel qualified to ask him to stay.

In the afternoon, Anthea took out her mobile phone more than once.

Yesterday morning, the signal tower had been repaired. Also, the communication was restored.

She looked at the name "Adam Chin" in her address book for a long time but hesitated to dial it out. She wanted to ask if he had returned to the army, but she did not make the phone call in the end. Since he did not even say goodbye to her when he

left, why would she bother to care about him?

She returned to her tent, bowing her head in low spirits. She lifted the curtain and was about to enter. Then, she caught a glimpse of something out of the corner of her eye.

She froze suddenly and turned her head to look over in surprise.

"You... haven't left?"

Anthea stared at Adam blankly.

Adam strode to her and asked back, "Do you want me to go?"

Anthea gave no reply, just biting her lips. It was because she did not want to say anything against her will.

She, still in a daze, said, "I heard from Leonardo that the troop for emergency rescue has withdrawn from Platan County. I thought you had already returned with them..."

"Yes." Adam nodded and said lightly, "But I told the headquarters that we had to stay here for a few more days. This area needs some extra help. So, well evacuate with the other rescue teams after we've finished!"

"Oh!" Anthea nodded as well.

She slightly squeezed her hands behind her back. His words seemed to have greatly alleviated her depression.

Adam's phone buzzed. Anthea reminded him, "Adam, your phone is buzzing."

Hearing this, Adam took out his cell phone from his trouser pocket.

He did not go away. Instead, he directly picked up the phone and put it beside his ear.

Adam's dark eyes with some hidden emotions landed on her. Then he said in a deep voice, "Hey, Mira."
