Purchased A Mr. Right -
Chapter 1095
Adam held her small hand in his palm and caught her wrist with the other hand, examining it carefully.
While his finger with a gun cocoon raked her skin, Anthea got a slight electrical sensation.
She withdrew her hand in a panic and said with a slight blush on her cheeks, "It's okay. I'm much better now!"
Adam took out a lighter and lit the cigarette between his fingers.
Amid the lingering smoke, a rare hint of laziness emerged on his usually unsmiling face. With the camouflage clothing he was wearing, he looked like a crouching leopard hunting its prey. Thinking of what he had done just now, Anthea felt puzzled and annoyed. "Adam, what were you doing just now? I was having a good talk with Declan. It's impolite to leave him like this!" She was angry, her cheeks bulging.
She stared at him with her clear and bright eyes, her cheeks on her small face puffing up. What a cute little squirrel!
She stirred up a circle in his heart.
Adam puffed out a smoke ring and said slowly, "I've told you that he doesn't suit you."
Through the smoke, Anthea caught a faint trace of jealousy from his face.
Jealous?!
How was it possible?!
Anthea dropped this thought in an instant.
She resisted the urge to roll her eyes at him and said stiffly, "Whether he suits me or not is my business!"
"I am your uncle-in-law." Adam retorted lightly.
"..." Anthea pursed her lips.
Adam flicked the cigarette ash and continued, "I'm your elder, so you have to listen to me."
.." Anthea retorted silently in her heart.
Yes, he was her uncle-in-law. As soon as he mentioned this, she lost the courage to argue with him.
Adam went on confidently and justly. "Do you remember it? I disapprove of you dating him!"
Anthea did not say a word.
Adam reproached in a deep voice, "Did you hear that?"
"Yes!" Anthea curled his lips.
She did not want to argue with him. Anyway, she had never dated Declan. So, she did not care about his orders at all!
With her hands clasped behind her back, Anthea muttered, "Uncle-in-law, may I go now?"
"Mm." Adam's lips curled up.
When he agreed, Anthea immediately turned around and left.
However, Adam, strong and tall, blocked her way to Declan. Anthea could only go back to the temporary shelter for medical workers first.
After taking two steps, she looked back.
Adam was still looking at her!
Unexpectedly, she gazed into his deep-set dark eyes.
His eyes with deep emotions were like whirlpools that could suck people's souls in.
Anthea's heart and soul trembled.
It seemed as if his eyes had burned her - she quickened her pace and ran far away.
The next morning, Anthea got up late. Fortunately, the medical team was not very busy these days. Few new patients had been sent here recently, so they only needed to take care of the previous patients. Anthea came out of the tent with a washbasin in her hand. Before she finished yawning, she saw the tall and strong figure standing at the door.
п
Adam seemed to have waited for her for a long time - there were already a few cigarette butts beside his military boots.
He dropped the cigarette in his hand on the ground, stubbed out it, and walked up to her. "You are awake."
Anthea was stunned.
Last night, she had a dream about him. It was something that had not happened before.
In a green military uniform and a pair of black military boots, Adam stood there in the natural landscape as the background. He leaned against an old banyan tree with a light smile and smoked silently. In Anthea's eyes, he looked so attractive and valiant in his bearing.
Now, seeing him like this not long after she woke up this morning, Anthea fell in a trance, not knowing she was in a dream or in reality.
She hugged her face tight and greeted in a complete daze. "Good morning, Uncle-in-law."
"Mm." Adam smiled!
Anthea felt even more confused, and then she asked respectfully, "Adam, it's so early. What's the matter?"
"Well, I have something to tell you." Adam nodded and then added, "Wash up first and go to the intersection ahead. I'll wait for you there."
Before Anthea could say something, he had already turned around and strode away.
Ten minutes later, she came to the side of the road with a confused look on her face.
Just like when she came out of the tent, he stood there, waiting for her. Anthea walked over and asked with a frown, "Adam, why did you call me here?"
"I'm here to pick up someone," Adam answered.
"Pick up someone?" Anthea still did not understand what he meant.
Adam nodded, his eyes moving slightly. "Well, you know her too."
Anthea could not figure it out.
In a split second, she suddenly thought of something.
Then she held her breath.
When she knew who he was referring to, she felt a chill run down her spine.
Since he was here to pick up his girlfriend, Anthea lost all her interest and even hated to be part of it.
So embarrassed did she feel that she secretly clenched her teeth and intended to turn around and leave directly.
But at this moment, Adam suddenly said, "She's here."
Then, Anthea saw a military truck driving over.
About ten seconds later, it stopped in front of them. The door of the co-pilot opened, and a graceful figure jumped out from it.
It was Mira...
Anthea felt all her limbs go stiff.
Her sudden appearance sent a chill down her spine, and Anthea tensed her muscles to stop them from shaking.
Just like last year, Mira was good-looking and delicate. She did not wear any makeup today, but she still looked very elegant. She was classy from the inside to the outside; maybe it was because she was an art teacher.
Mira did not wear a dress. Instead, she wore a short-sleeved T-shirt, a pair of cropped pants, and a pair of flat-bottomed shoes. Anthea was impressed by her clean-cut good look.
It was a disaster area so that she did not dress up.
It had only been a few days since Adam came here.
Adam did not expect them to be in such a good relationship. She could not bear to part with Adam, so she came here to visit him...
Anthea's face turned pale, but she suddenly froze there.
After Mira got out of the car, she did not hug Adam as Adam had expected. Instead, she walked to the other side of the car.
A figure jumped down from the driver's seat.
It was a man who was about Adam's age. He was also wearing the military uniform, and the pattern on his shoulder showed that he was two ranks lower than Adam. This man was a lieutenant.
He was a good-looking man with delicate features, big eyes, and bushy eyebrows, though not as handsome as Adam.
When the man came down, Mira leaned over him with a gentle smile. Before him, she was a timid and lovable little woman. The man held her waist. Then they walked toward Anthea and Adam side by side.
Anthea was stunned.
She was dumbfounded and shouted, "... Aunt Mira?"
"Anthea, we meet again!" Mira greeted her with a big smile.
Anthea's eyes fell on the two of them. They had a very intimate and relaxed manner when being close to each other - it seemed that they had been like this for a long, long time.
Anthea did not know what was going on.
Mira held the man's arm and said with a smile, "Let me introduce you: this is my husband. We have been married for more than three years!"
