Purchased A Mr. Right
Chapter 1099

"Did he lose his temper? Did he scold you?" Declan asked with concern in his eyes.

He was very annoyed and guilty. "I'm sorry, Anthea. It's all my fault. I have already scolded my comrade who started this! Captain Chin is your uncle-in-law. It's understandable that he would be angry when he saw others encourage you to drink the cross-cupped wine!"

Anthea was embarrassed and stuttered. "It's okay. He didn't scold me..."

"Really?" Declan did not believe it. After all, Adam's action last night was very deterrent in their eyes. He was really afraid that Adam would harshly scold her.

Anthea nodded and comforted him. "Well, don't take the matter to heart!"

Declan breathed a sigh of relief. "Then that's good!"

Watching Declan leave, Anthea went to the medical center. But after two steps, she stopped, turned around, and followed Declan to the military camp.

As usual, many people were sent out as rescue teams.

Anthea came to the tent in the center. She knew that Adam lived here.

After all, she was a young girl. After a kiss from the man she liked, she could not remain calm. She hesitated for a long time, but still, she came to look for him.

Before she entered, Carter, who was always by Adam's side, came out of the room.

Carter's eyes lit up when he saw her. "Anthea?"

Anthea nodded slightly. After greeting him, she asked, "Is my uncle-in-law in there?"

"Captain Chin?" Carter told her, "He's not in there. He drove to the headquarters early in the morning!"

Anthea was stunned by his words. Then, she pursed her lips.

She said in a muffled voice, "Oh, I see!"

Suddenly, she felt disheartened.

Adam was doing what he should do as usual. It seemed that he did not take the kiss seriously. However, just like before, she could not fall asleep after the kiss last night. She was the only one who was thinking about the kiss, cared neither for food nor drink.

Carter smiled and asked her, "Do you have anything to tell him?"

"Nothing serious!" Anthea shook her head and said, "Brother Carter, there is still something to do at the medical center. I'll go back first!" Carter nodded, but his eyes were fixed on her slightly pursed pink lips. It had been a whole night, and there were still some slight redness and swelling marks on her lips.

Tsk, tsk! Was my boss a dog? He bit so hard! Carter thought in his heart.

After she came back from the military camp, Anthea's heart completely cooled down.

After a busy day, a few people in the settlement spot had caught a cold and had a fever. The medical team attached great importance to this situation. After the flood, diseases might break out here and there. So they had to prevent such things from happening.

In the evening, with his teacher Vincent, Anthea went back to the medical and rescue site.

Vincent left the tent again. Immediately, Leonardo put down the syringe in his hand and moved closer to her. "Anthea, tell me, what exactly has happened yesterday?"

"Nothing!" Anthea frowned.

"No way..." Leonardo was shocked. He immediately pursed his lips and asked, "Adam forcibly dragged you out, and you two disappeared in the blink of an eye. Last night, you had been staying with him in the dark night for some time, and you told me that you

did nothing. Well, I don't believe it!"

Anthea, stuffing the medicine bottle into the medicine kit, did not say a word.

Upon finishing the task, she closed the kit and took a pack of sterile needles.

Leonardo would not give up before he got the answer he wanted. He was still pestering her. "Hey, don't be so mean! Satisfy my curiosity. Your uncle-inlaw..."

Anthea's face turned cold. "Are you done? Can you not mention him to me?"

After being scolded by her, Leonardo immediately raised his hand and surrendered. "Oh, my! Okay."

Anthea gave him a hard look and then walked out of the tent with the medicine kit.

Leonardo's gaze passed over her shoulder and fell on a tall green figure coming over.

He shrugged his shoulders. He wanted to tell her that Adam was coming, but since she did not want him to mention Adam, he would not tell her this!

When Anthea came out of the tent, she kept her head low and walked forward quickly. Then she accidentally ran into a person.

"Ah!" She snorted in a low voice.

To be exact, the man was as hard as a wall.

Adam was dressed in a green military uniform. The bronze buckles on his chest were cold and hard, and Anthea happened to knock against it, which made her nose tip sour and numb. Anthea gritted her teeth and raised her hand to rub her nose.

Adam frowned and asked, "Does it hurt?"

Hearing the familiar, deep voice, Anthea paused, then looked up and said grumpily, "No!"

She covered her nose, so he could not see whether it was serious or not.

He wanted to take a closer look, but she had already taken a half-step backward. Then she walked past him without even casting him a glance.

Anthea carried the medical kit and continued to move forward with heavy steps.

She could hear his footsteps behind her.

He had been following her from behind, but she walked straight forward as if she did not notice it. As she returned to the residential settlement site, there were a few people waiting for her there. Anthea went over, distributed the medicine from the medicine kit she brought here, and then asked a woman holding a child to come over.

She rolled up the arms of the little child and found two blisters.

Anthea took out a sterilizing needle and punctured one. After getting away the secretion, she took out the zinc oxide ointment and smeared it on the wound.

She explained to the woman, "You don't have to worry. This is impetigo. My teacher said that it's a common disease of the children living in the disaster area! I just burst the pustule, and you don't have to worry about it now!"

The woman thanked her repeatedly and went back happily with the child in her arms.

When Anthea finished dealing with all the things on hand, she closed the medical kit and found that Adam was still standing there, with a cigarette between his long and slender fingers.

When she walked over, he threw the cigarette on the ground.

He asked her in a low voice, "Who upset you?"

Anthea shot him a cold glance.

He knew it was him who displeased her but still deliberately asked.

Adam looked at her with a frown on his face as if he was considering something. In the end, he muttered, "Anthea, last night..."

"Do you want to deny it again?" Anthea interrupted him. A shadow of sarcasm touched the corners of her mouth. "You drank too much and got a kind of hallucination, so you did not know what had happened. If anything had ever happened between us, then I might have remembered it wrong! This is all that you want to say to me, right?"

Her small face was tense and cold.

It was not the first time for him to deny his kiss!

However, Adam said, "No."

Anthea was stunned for a moment.

"It's not what I will say, and I didn't mean to deny the kiss." His black eyes fixed on her. Adam repeated it again and said in a serious tone, "Last night, I kissed you. I kissed you."

A slightly surprised expression appeared on Anthea's face.

Then, why didn't he deny it, just like what had happened before?

She thought that he was going to deny the kiss as he did a year ago, but she did not expect that he would admit it so straightforwardly.

He admitted that he had kissed her and admitted that he had kissed her on her own initiative.

But why did he kiss her...

Anthea's fingers curled up, and she stuttered nervously, "Then... what do you mean?"

Adam was silent for two seconds.

"Ahem!" He cupped his hand and put it on his lips, a rare shy look appeared on his face. "I want to be with you."
