Chapter 1143

Anthea widened her eyes in horror.

The grass ahead of her looked dense and felt soft when she stepped on it, but for some reason, the ground suddenly gave in, and by the time she realized what was happening, it was too late.

It seemed that she was falling straight into a cave formed by a landslide.

Everything flashed past her eyes, and her low cry was drowned in the leaves falling down with her.

"I'm screwed!"

This was the only thought left in Anthea's mind.

With a muffled sound, Anthea fell to the bottom.

She closed her eyes tightly, thinking that even if she survived, she would be crippled. The rest of her life would be ruined. If she really became disabled, she didn't know whether Adam would still want her or not!

There was intense pain in her hips. Anthea grimaced and tried to touch the spot.

When she opened her eyes, she saw that she wasn't dead, and she could still move her limbs. With her medical knowledge, she could tell that no bones were fractured, and only her buttocks hurt.

She had fallen from above and landed on her bottom.

Anthea touched the ground beneath her and found a layer of leaves.

Only then did she realize that the thick layers of leaves beneath had worked as an air cushion. Fortunately, she fell on it and wasn't injured. Still shaken, she heaved a long sigh of relief. That was close!

Rubbing her bottom, Anthea got up and looked around.

The cave was so narrow and could only fit two or three people. The light was very dim, and the opening above was covered by many branches. The only light came from the hole through which she had just fallen from.

Anthea looked up and found that the ground was at least three meters above her.

Although she could easily climb over a fence, this was still too high. Moreover, the walls were too bare for her to climb.

She gave up after trying twice. Both times, she fell back to the ground.

She shouted a few times, but the walls of the cave stopped her voice from going out, and she could only hear her own echo. Moreover, the ground was too far above her. When the wind blew, the bushes rustled loudly, and it was impossible for anyone to hear her voice.

Leonardo panted and said, "Anthea is missing. She's not on the bus!"

Leonardo was very anxious. "I don't know where she is. I went to take a leak, and I haven't seen her since I got back. I thought that she had drunk too much cola and had to go to the toilet as well! Now that everyone is ready to go back, I still can't replace her!"

Leonardo was genuinely concerned. Just then, they heard the whistle that summoned them to get into the buses.

Everyone got on the bus of their own group. Anthea would be there if she heard the whistle. But after Leonardo sat down, the seat next to him remained empty. She was nowhere to be seen.

Leonardo looked around. There were very few people outside. All he could see was the clearing and the dense forest around them

Although she had her phone with her, there was no signal in the mountain....

Adam suddenly clenched his fists, and his face was darker than a cloudy sky.

With a serious look on his face, he said in a deep and cold voice, "The groups that have all their members can set out first. As for the rest of the groups, the female students should wait in the buses. The male students and the instructors, please follow me to search for her!"

Although the surrounding areas were all scenic spots with little danger, a girl had suddenly disappeared in the forest, so everyone was still worried about her safety.

She found a random boy to deliver the message, which would lure Anthea over. That trap was on her path.

That place was very remote, and no one would notice it. After seeing Anthea fall in, Shelby put the warning sign back without anyone noticing.

Shelby had wanted to leave Anthea behind in the mountains.

Anthea would be stuck in the middle of nowhere with no one to help her. She would be scared out of her wits, and Shelby liked that idea.

She didn't expect Leonardo to step out and tell Adam that Anthea was missing. Now, a large group of people was looking for her.

Shelby elegantly tucked her hair behind her ear and smiled cunningly.

What if the others had gone to search for Anthea? Shelby had put the warning sign back. They could spend the whole afternoon looking for her, but they still might not replace her!

The thought made Shelby's smile even brighter.

Anthea had lost count of how many times she had sighed

She sighed again

She looked up expectantly and then lowered her eyes again.

Anthea didn't even know how long she had been here. Maybe it was only half an hour, but she felt as if half a day had passed. She didn't know if Adam and Leonardo had noticed that she was missing. She was unconsciously fiddling with the fallen leaves on the ground. No matter how nervous she felt, she could only wait patiently.

This was the only thing she could do at the moment.

She thought she heard a rustling sound from above.

Anthea didn't pay much attention at first, thinking that it was caused by the wind. But the sound was getting more and more obvious, and the sunlight seemed to become brighter. She couldn't help but look up. Light suddenly filled her sight, and she narrowed her eyes involuntarily.

Adam bent down at the opening, and she could see his muddy black military boots. Before she could make a sound, the tall and strong man had grabbed a branch nearby and jumped down.

He fell from above and landed steadily in front of her.

Anthea was so excited that he shouted, "Uncle-inlaw, that's so cool!"
