Purchased A Mr. Right -
Chapter 924
Emily frowned and looked at Selena who was surprised, "What's wrong?"
"Emily. It's urgent!" Selena shook her phone and said angrily, "My boyfriend is hooking up with a woman. Now they are at the movie theater. I have to catch them immediately. I would be late for the meeting. Emily, don't wait for me!"
Emily was confused. Before she could ask Selena what happened, Selena already went ahead and said to Simon, "Simon, I have to bother you to drive Emily there!" "Okay," Simon replied.
Then, Selena reached out to open the door.
Upon seeing this, Emily cried out in a hurry, "Selena!"
However, before she could react, Selena had already jumped out of the car and closed the door, giving her no chance.
As soon as Emily gripped on the door handle, the Cayenne suddenly began to run.
She stumbled backward because of the sudden inertia and then fell back to the back of the chair, which made her back spine slightly get numb.
Emily glared at Simon, who was sitting on the driver's seat, and only found him saying lazily, "The light turned green!"
Emily tilted her head to look at both sides. The traffic was moving again. There was indeed no way to park for a long time. She gritted her teeth and could only helplessly sit in the car.
Her cell phone rang at this time. Calvin was calling.
"Hello?" Emily answered.
Calvin asked in a gentle voice, "Emily, are you on the way?"
"Yes, I am on the way!" Emily answered hurriedly. She looked out of the window and said worriedly, "The traffic now is not good..."
When they left the apartment building, the traffic was alreay not good. They ran into many red lights, and there were also traffic jams.
"I've already made arrangements here at the hotel. My parents and my grandmother have just arrived. I'll go up to pick up your aunt and uncle-in-law later. Don't worry. I just called to ask you. It's still a lot of time before the appointed time. It's still early!" Calvin said.
Hearing Calvin's considerate words, Emily said gratefully, "Okay, I'll be there on time!"
She subconsciously looked at Simon in front of her, feeling that she should tell Calvin that she was in Simon's car. She hesitated and said, "Calvin, I am going..."
Before she could finish her words, the call ended.
Emily frowned, looked at the phone, and found that it died.
It was out of battery!
Because she was wearing the dress today, she didn't bring her backpack but a small purse, which could only fit her cell phone and keys. She didn't get nervous, thinking that she could talk when she arrived at the hotel.
Seeing that she put the phone back in the small purse, Simon slightly raised his eyes and asked, "Are you having the family meeting to decide your wedding date?"
"Yes..." Emily nodded, pursing her lips.
Simon's pupils narrowed slightly. He didn't say anything. Instead, he gazed at the white dress on her with a trace of evilness at the corner of his mouth, "This dress looks perfect on you!"
"It's so perfect that I want to tear it apart immediately!"
Although Emily didn't hear the mutterings in Simon's heart, she still felt uncomfortable looking at his eyes. Recalling the words Simon said in the store before, she felt even more ashamed as if she were naked with him.
She secretly swallowed a mouthful of saliva and moved herself to the side, trying to avoid eye contact in the rearview mirror.
Emily ignored his gaze and calmly asked, "Simon, how long will it take for us to arrive?"
"Well, I'm not sure!" Simon already withdrew his gaze.
Emily pursed her lips. After all, she needed his help now. Sitting in his car, she could only say,"... Then please hurry!"
After all, today's meeting was very important. As a junior, it would be improper for her to be late.
"OK!" Simon replied lazily.
Although Simon agreed, he could not control the traffic. In less than two minutes after the Cayenne started moving, its speed slowed down again and moved forward slowly.
At the next intersection, Simon suddenly turned in another direction.
Emily didn't say a word, thinking that Simon was only trying to replace a better route. But she didn't expect that as they went further and further, the surrounding environment gradually became more and more different as skyscrapers, tall buildings, and people were fewer and fewer.
They were all paths that she had never been to before. She couldn't help but frown and ask, "Simon, where are we?"
"Outside the fourth ring road," Simon answered.
"Huh?" Emily was surprised, "Why are we here?"
Simon took a glance at her from the rearview mirror and said unhurriedly, "It's the rush hour in the city now. The traffic is heavy. If we continue to wait, we would only waste time. Now I trying to go around the city to get there. Although it's further, at least we are free from the traffic jam! Didn't you tell me to hurry up?"
Hearing that, Emily shut her mouth, convinced.
The Cayenne continued driving for about twenty minutes, but the surrounding was still sparsely populated. The distance between buildings was large. It seemed that they were getting farther and farther away from the city.
It wasn't until Emily found the buildings on both sides disappeared into trees that she realized that they were on the mountain road. She said anxiously, "Why do I feel that you are driving in the wrong direction?"
Hearing this, Simon, who was in the front, put out the burning cigarette in his hand, frowned, and said,
"Let me take a look!"
Simon's long and slender hands tapped on the navigation for more than ten seconds, and then the wrinkles between his eyebrows became deeper. He said in a firm voice, "It seems that the direction is wrong. wanted to go around the fourth ring, but I didn't expect that I would be lost. I should have taken a turn when we left the highway!"
Hearing that, Emily couldn't help rolling her eyes.
She didn't want to waste her time complaining, so she could only hurriedly say, "Turn around now!"
Simon, however, was still steering forward. He pointed forward and said, "Can't you see that this is a mountain road? There is a fence in the middle. It's so narrow that I can't turn around!"
"Then what should we do?" Emily was at a loss.
There were dense green trees on both sides of the road, and there were hardly any cars on it. The road was so narrow that there was no way for Simon to turn around. Even if he could, driving on the wrong side of the road was very dangerous.
Simon spread out his hands and said in a helpless tone, "We can only continue to move forward, replace an intersection to turn back!"
"..." Emily felt a headache.
"What the hell..."
