Queen Of The Alpha -
Chapter 55
Layan was totally unsettled by the reaction Priscilla was having and how she was reacting. He was really worried.
-Priscilla,” he called out to her, bringing his nose close to hers.
He just didn’t expect her to suddenly attack him, burying her fangs gum deep in his muzzle. The rage with which she looked at him was…indescribable. Yet Layan didn’t move, even if it hurt. B***d ran down to the grass, staining both her paws and the she-wolf’s.
-Priscilla,” he called to her again, this time forcing the bond they had that he found he had to put pressure on to keep her in control. So he didn’t understand why she was so out of control.
Maybe…
Anger, amusement, anger…
Emotions.
His wolfish eyes opened to notice hers go from a very intense silver to becoming hazy and opening her mouth. The fangs left the wolf’s flesh behind several strands of b***d and intense pain that Layan didn’t complain about. She had bitten him hard, intent on tearing his flesh.
A pitiful whimper came from her suddenly, as if she was regretting it, and she lowered her ears. She uncertainly licked one of the wounds in an attempt to help soothe the wounds. Layan narrowed his eyes and studied her movements.
His wounds were not important. They would heal without a problem. The most important thing now was to check if Priscilla’s emotions had really been fully awakened. Because he was aware that since she was with him and the bond between them was getting stronger, the wolf’s emotions were minimally manifesting themselves. Not all of them, some, like anger, even happiness and amusement. But the manifestations were so ephemeral that you had to be with her all day to notice them.
Now, it was like a total explosion of them and they couldn’t agree and it seemed to be driving her crazy. That was… dangerous. Priscilla’s emotions had been sealed for specific reasons in the first place, mainly to take care of her. If they were awakened, they would awaken the rest of her abilities more intensely, and that wasn’t the most worrying thing. They themselves would consume her life…much faster.
At the thought Layan froze and the b***d rushed to his paws. The fear of losing Priscilla again hit him and made him tremble. He looked at her and moved closer to her, seeking her touch. She was still warm. The scare of that time where their bond almost vanished was something that still throbbed inside him.
The she-wolf, oblivious to it all simply began to wag her tail back and forth and wiggled. This time she wanted to get up to play again. And just like that she fell back on her paws. Layan felt her licking one of her paws and when she broke away she noticed that there was a large gash running across it.
At what point had that happened? He lowered his head and licked it, tapping his nose against hers to give her room, and that’s when he noticed there was another one on her face, specifically on her cheek.
Had that one been there before? He didn’t remember it.
Layan licked the wound on her paw with no trouble. The ones on her muzzle had already closed given his skill. Skill he used to heal the one on her paw and then her cheek. But as they closed, others began to appear on the she-wolf’s body. First on her ear, then above her eye, then on her shoulder. And they disappeared on their own.
But it was not an easy process. At the appearance of each one the she-wolf whimpered. As if in some kind of agony. Layan bristled.
She couldn’t be. She was…she was awakening the very power of him.
And he knew it well because he knew in his own b***d the pain that such an event caused. He remembered all too well the hellish days of pain as a pup where only Celesia, Hades’ mother and his teacher had helped him through it.
-Priscilla, transform,” Layan asked her quickly, “The way you are now is very dangerous.
But he received no answer. The she-wolf shook her head at the wounds on her head as if they bothered her a lot. Layan was forced to form her body and use tight control to force her to change.
But as he did so, slowly and torturously, where dark fur gave way to white skin filling with wounds, a piercing scream rattled all around. Tiny dots of frost covered the edges of leaves, trunks and even Layan’s own fur and then melted with a hot sensation.
Priscilla was out of control.
Layan quickly transformed and grabbed her in his arms. Another scream came from her as the skin cut itself on her abdomen and b***d gushed out, seconds later it closed on its own giving way to a larger and deeper one on her inner thigh. Tears streamed down Priscilla’s cheeks as she wept with her eyes completely unfocused.
Layan knew he had to act fast. So he pulled her to his chest and pressed her head against his neck.
-Bite,” he ordered and it wasn’t long before he felt her fangs pierce his skin and a hot sensation run through him, making him gasp.
Her nails dug into his back, breaking the skin. Like clinging to something. And that something was him.
-Quiet,” she whispered, running her hand over his head and back, feeling the flesh open and close again, accompanied by the m***s coming from his chest, “Trust me,” she said.
His b***d, in addition to allowing the bond to be strong at that moment, would help her regulate her wildness. But the process would not be easy. He had to take her to a dark, safe place. One where she would not endanger herself and her powers would not harm others. For she knew that they could manifest more intensely as they had before.
-Alphaaaaaaa,” Victore’s voice rang out and the wolf came running. With him came Kei and three more guards.
They had only been able to approach when their alpha’s pheromones had subsided. But they had not expected to replace this scene or the strange occurrence in the she-wolf’s body. The five of them stopped in their tracks.
They had only been able to approach when their alpha’s pheromone had diminished. But they had not expected to encounter that scene or the strange occurrence on the she-wolf’s body. The five of them stopped in their tracks.
Layan pulled her closer to him protectively. Priscilla was vulnerable, and like any male wolf she would not allow anything to harm her mate, even if those who were there were there to help them. At that moment, he was the only thing she needed.
-Victore tried to approach, but Layan glared at him and shook his head. He understood. What does he need?
-No one gets in the way. We’ll be in that room you know. Lock it from the outside when we go in,” he ordered, getting up. Priscilla’s mouth still clung to his neck, as did her nails on his back.
The wolves assisted and left the way clear, feeling the dense atmosphere surrounding both their alpha and the one they all knew would be their future queen.
Layan never thought he would ever be inside that room again. The one where he had had to lock his sister during the years she was trapped in the Madness. She couldn’t stop her eyes from watering a little. Those memories were so hard and he would be eternally grateful to Nebraska for bringing her back. For that and for bringing the one she held in her arms into the world.
The she-wolf who really was the missing part that made his life truly complete. Too bad it had taken her so long to realize it and now she was suffering for it.
He sat against the wall on the floor with her in his lap. They had NOT taken the trouble to fix that place so that place was better than the mess of the bed. That was the safest place in their entire castle. She had seen to that. There were only tiny slits attached to the ceiling in one corner that let in air and light.
He hugged the she-wolf in his arms. The condition of her body had slowed minimally, still the wounds were very constant. He felt her release her neck in exhaustion and drop her heavy head against his chest. Then a sob reached the alpha’s ears. His soul broke.
-Be strong Priscilla,” he pulled her face close to his neck again but she didn’t bite, instead she began to sniff the gland there. At least that calmed her down a little bit.
He didn’t know if she was listening to him for he could barely feel her. It was as if her reasoning was sleeping and only her wild side was awake enduring all the pain. Layan couldn’t despair as he knew he could get. Keeping his sanity was the only thing he could do in those moments where only one had it.
And there he stayed with Priscilla in his arms, between tremors, sobs, spasms until three days later her body stopped breaking his skin and at last she could fade into his arms from exhaustion…and so could he.
