Chapter 78: Interrupted Vows

I felt like I had lost my chance to escape and I didn't know why.

Dread filled my body, but I pushed it away.

We said our vows and everyone was moved by our words of love, even Aria shed tears.

"Now you both will mark each other," the anchor said as he brought out the scared scarf that will call our wolves forth.

He wrapped the veil around us and I felt my wolf come to the surface, I felt Kyle's wolf too but was surprised me was the feelings from the wolf. It was a mixture of love and guilt.

I barred my neck as Kyle moved closer to me and his canines became longer. His wolf was in control now. As he was about to sink his teeth into my neck to mark me, we heard a loud shout. "Stop! All of this is not real! Kyle cannot marry Lyra, he is mine! He is supposed to marry me," Kiera shouted her eyes were blood shot red.

"Kiera? What are you doing here? where have you being?" Her friends asked her as they were all shocked that she just appeared.

"Did you all really think I will allow the man that I love get married to this woman?" she laughed as she looked around.

"I will not let the both of you get married." She looked at me with disdain as she walked towards Kyle.

She held his face as tears pooled in her eyes.

"Kyle, I love you. Please do not do this to me. I should have told you how I felt but he told me we will get married. I trusted him blindly," She pleaded with Kyle. "Kiera," Kyle called her in a gentle voice.

"I care about you but I am in love with Lyra and I cannot see my self with any other person I am sorry," he said to her like he was talking to a child.

"But I love you," Kiera cried.

"I know and I love you too but I don't think we are mates or we can ever be mates. I love you but I am not in love with you," he whispered.

"No, no, please don't say that," Kiera shook her head repeatedly like a broken doll.

"You cannot leave me. Kyle you are mine. You have always been mine and you will always be mine," she repeated to herself continuously becoming aggressive by the minute. "Kiera you need to calm.."

"No! you cannot marry her! she is not meant for you! I am! I was with you when..."

She started to move weirdly as her bones started to move places.

"Ahh!" she screamed as she fell to the ground.

"Help me!" she looked at kyle her voice suddenly becoming hoarse.

Her eyes turned a deeper shade of red and she looked at me with murderous eyes.

"I will kill you!" she screamed.

Her nails became way shaper and she started to look like a vampire and that was when it dawned on me. She was a hybrid too.

I immediately looked up to Kyle and I saw he was just as surprised as I was.

"You are a hybrid?" he said and Kiera looked at him but she looked like she couldn't see him.

She stood up and turned to me as she slashed trying to get my neck but my reflexes were quicker and I moved backwards.

Everyone gasped because attacking the luna is like asking for a death sentence. It showed that she was challenging me and there is not way I will get my wedding dress stained because of a fight. The guards moved forward and held her in placed as she thrashed and tried to release herself but it didn't work because their hold was too strong.

"Ahh!" she screamed in frustration as she used all of her strength and broke their hold and she rushed towards me.

Suddenly she held her head and started screaming. She was overheating, if she didn't replace a way to calm down she will die. It was common amongst hybrids.

"Kiera please calm down," Kyle said in a soothing voice as he took cautious steps towards her but at this point she was seeing red and she had become feral, the guards had to hold her with silver. She screamed moving back and forth as her skin got burnt.

"Please stop Kiera,” Kyle said again but she only broke the silver chains and charged forward.

Everyone gasped.

She started to turn red as she screamed.

She felt unto the ground and started to roll on the floor.

"She is going to self destruct," Kyle said sadly as we watched her.

She kept on screaming until her body started to turn black.

Life was draining out of her and she was beginning to become tired.

She all watched as she became ashes.

"Oh dear," Aria said as we all took I the scene that was just displayed.

They guards moved forward and packed up her ashes, looking at me and Kyle apologetically.

Normally incidents like this were considered bad luck in our world.

"Ahem," the anchor cleared his throat.

"Let's continue," he said looking unfazed like he has experienced this in a lot of weddings but I could not help but feel embarrassed.

What was that? what just happened and who is the man that told Kiera that she was going to marry Kyle and why was Kyle trying to stop her from over heating? Do they have history or was he just concerned. Is it because is a hybrid too and has he known that she was a hybrid too? A lot of questions ran through my mind as I stared at Kyle.

"You can mark each other now to complete the mating ceremony," the anchor said again as he put the veil on top of us.

I barred my neck again and try to control my breathing while Kyle's wolf came to the surface again and Kyle let him be in control.
