Walker’s POV

I am listening to the others talking, and I know we will have to replace a way to get past the detectors where they can pick up that we are werewolves. Maybe if we push our wolves back and do not allow them to show themselves, it may help. I am worried, as we need to get in there and save the wolves they keep captive inside the base. We can not let them stay there as they will create more rogues that will become a danger to all creatures near them. If they think their families are dead, we need to help them replace their families before they lose their human side and become wolves. Once the wolf takes over, the human side of the werewolf disappears, and they become like wild animals without a mind to think. The human side, which is the gentle side and keeps the wolf intact, is so sad about losing its family and mates that it does not want to live anymore. The wolf that has already lost his family and mate will take over and want revenge on every living being it can lay its claws on. We all know that, and that is why rogues are so dangerous. We are one with our wolves, and when they feel our pain, they want to hurt everything they think is responsible to the human who wants to die. They are primarily humans, but sometimes they can be other creatures, and they will go after all those creatures they think are responsible for their family’s death. The wolf no longer has a reasonable side, and his primal instinct takes over. Even some wolves that have weak humans can not take rejection and will go rogue.

Anyway, I need to think of something. The one that knows the most about these things is Valentino. He will know how to help us, and I hope he can help us quickly. We do not want more rogues here as they seem to put attention on us. I need to talk to him about how they detect wolves and how we can counter them. Humans and their machines are clever. I don’t know what the future holds for us, and I can only pray that the world’s military does not declare war against us. They already know too much about us, and they will use silver bullets against us, and I do not want that to happen.

“Val, can you tell us more about these devices they use to detect us?” I ask the hunter.

“Well, it looks almost like night vision devices. The soldiers put them on, and according to what I know, they can see the wolf inside the human. I do not know how it works, but I can get my hands on one, and we can examine it and see how it works,” Val says.

“I will appreciate it. We will have to get someone to hide our wolves from these devices. What if they start using them worldwide? No werewolf will be safe from the human army,” I say. We can here to help a rogue wolf save his family from the humans, and we stepped into a beehive. It might help us in the future, but we must replace a way to counter these devices quickly. It can mean the end of werewolves, and I can not allow that. I am the King of this Kingdom, and if the legends are true, Paris and I will have to help save werewolves from all over the world. I am worried, to say the least, and I can see all my men and Paris are as concerned as I am.

“Get us one. I have a friend that may help us with it,” Elena says.

“Well, we had better hurry up. If they have bases here where only a few rogues are, how many human army bases worldwide? Can you imagine a bunch of army camps? Humans will also notice and go into the areas where the rogues normally go, like the big parks in the states and isolated places in the mountains where humans hardly go. Humans are curious creatures and will want to see for themselves,” I say.

“I was worried about rogues as I read about encounters on the internet with humans. The rogues are getting aggressive, and I am afraid that the human army may use them as secret weapons in their wars, and we do not want that. They can control them with chips in their brains, which is another thing that worries me. I read about humans controlling other humans but planting chips in their brains, which can also happen to werewolves. I think they can figure out how to control both the human and wolf sides,” Jeffrey says. Like I need more things to worry about.

“Jeffrey, don’t even talk about that! Can you imagine human armies using werewolves as their first defense?” Paris says. I see she is as worried about all the possibilities as I am. I can not let my mate worry about things that might happen and might not occur.

I bet you have all heard about the humans that disappeared in the parks while hiking, and we all know it is the work of the rogues. Some are found dead, but no one can explain what happened to them, and humans have spotted rogues. There are even some photos on the internet of rogues. Since technology has taken over the world, it is hard to hide the supernatural from humans. We will either have to be more careful and help the rogues to replace packs, or we will have to destroy human technology, which is almost impossible as it gets better and better daily,” Val says.

“Luckily, the human governments do not want their people to panic, and that is the only thing saving us now, but it will not last as more and more photos are leaked on the internet, and more and more humans start to believe in the supernatural. There are some shows even on TV that are looking for bigfoot. We all know that he does not exist, but if they can come across a rogue, there will be nothing left of them except for their last footage, which will cause us even more trouble. We wait a long time and see some of the soldiers moving out, but we know that they must be going to get some supplies as they only move out with one truck, and the truck is used to buy supplies. Some of my men follow them. We need to replace out where they are getting their supplies from and when they return, my men report to me that they are getting supplies from an airbase near the camp. Maybe it would be good if we took out the airbase first and then took out the center. If the airbase does not hear from them, they may get suspicious and look at what is happening here. Jeffrey went with Elena to fetch the tech expert, and Paris and I ran a few miles to see how big the airbase was. It is not a big airbase. We know it is built only to supply the army base in the woods with food and other things. How long has this base been here? We were so busy with our stupid war that we did not even know about the human army base in the woods. We did not even realize that planes were flying close to us. It is like they are looking more in the mountains away from the Kingdom for wolves, and I wonder why? Val arrives first and has a device in his hands that looks like night goggles. He hands them to me. I put them on and look at Val, but it only shows his skeleton. Then I look at Paris, which shows her skeleton, but I can see the difference, as it is evident that Paris’s skeleton is not like Val’s. The structure can shift as we shift, and our bones can move into different positions. Our skeletons do not look like those of humans. So they can not see our wolves, but they can see by our structure that we are building differently and can shapeshift. That will be a problem, as we can not hide our wolves. Our bodies are different, and they can pick it up by looking at our bones. I do not know what we will do as it is difficult to hide. We will have to think of something.

“Wow, they can see we are built differently. It will not be so easy to hide,” I say.

“I know, and it will be hard to hide from humans. There are only a few of these devices in the army base, but what worries me is that they are United States army property. Look at the flag on the device,” Val says. I look at the flag of the USA, and I know all werewolves in the states and worldwide are in big trouble, as the United States is the one with the money to produce more of these devices, and they will spread to all armies who need them. We will have to replace the source of these devices and destroy the factory and the plans for these devices. But first, we must take out this base and worry about the rest later.
