Paris’s POV

“Well, I think we should destroy that lab as quickly as possible,” I say. I want to rid the world of these crazy scientists and the military. We want a safe future for our pups, and as long as humans think they can get away with what they are doing, they will keep doing it. We can not allow this anymore. I know they have labs worldwide that experiment with humans and other creatures. They even experiment with dangerous viruses, but that does not affect us, and if they bring out a virus as a mass weapon, someday we will know what to do, but I know humans will not do that soon. They want to use creatures in their wars as they know that creatures, like werewolves and vampires, do not die quickly, and you need special weapons to kill us. We are also fast and strong, so when we are in a fight, we will be stronger than the other side, but who knows who else is playing with the thought of using us in a war? We need to stop this madness of humans and let them know they can not mess with us or our kind.

“The werewolves and vampires worldwide are looking for labs like these, and soon they will all be destroyed by the same creatures they are destroying now. I do not like that they are using us as weapons,” Walker says.

“Well, let us not waste any more time. It is a long distance to where this lab is, and we will need to travel on foot as we can not use vehicles near that place. We will have to move fast and mainly during the night. Make sure you have your pins on, but I do not know how many of the rogues and dogmen with the new technology they are using now will be in the area, so we will have to kill them fast so they can not run back to the lab and warn them we are on our way,” Herman says. He takes a laptop with him.

“What is the laptop for?” I ask.

“To scramble their signals. I helped build that chip, and I know how it works. I also know how to deactivate it and destroy it, but sometimes destroying it will kill the creature, but if we do not have any choice and that is all we can do, we will have to do it,” Herman says. I am not happy that we have to destroy some dogmen and rogues, but I am sure I can live with it if it is for our and our children’s futures. We need to be careful, as I do not want any of my people captured, and I do not want to let them die. I love all the kingdom’s wolves and our friends, the shamans and gypsies. Some shamans are wolves as well, but not all of them come to help us as they believe in the spirit of the wolf.

We start running, and I can see we are heading for a park and not area 51, as I thought we would. So do they have labs in parks or close to parks? No wonder the people in and around the parks are freaking out about dogmen and werewolves. We run for what feels like hours before Herman stops and shows up to be quiet. I look up and see a seven-foot-tall creature standing still in the bushes. It has not seen us but is looking at something in front of it. I look in the direction it is looking in, and it feels like my hair is standing on edge.

Not far away from him is a group of people camping, and he is watching their every move. It is not dark yet, but I know it is waiting for nightfall, and it will not attack before sunset as it is more terrifying for the campers and those who may survive the attack. He will probably only kill one or two, so the others can go and tell their family and friends and even post their horror stories on the internet. I do not know if the creature is alone. I can not think of these killers as werewolves or dogmen, as they are not like us. They are programmed to kill, and I know whoever this general wants to control the people of his country must have a similar plan to Mikhail’s. But why does he want all his people in cities behind walls? I do not know yet, but we will replace out soon enough. I know some humans think the world is overpopulated and needs to be killed off, but I do not believe this is what is happening here.

Does the government want to control the people and make them work for them like Mikhail, or is there something more sinister behind this? Do they want people to volunteer to become killing machines for the government? Are they planning a war and want to use these super creatures to fight for them, but what will happen to humans? They will not survive these creatures. What if the creatures turn on them? I do not know what to think at this stage, as Mikhail is dead, and the general should know it by now. I do not understand this. Unless Mikhail turned the general into a vampire, I doubt it, as he used his human soldiers to fight at day and create all these monsters. If they got what they wanted from him, they could turn on him and use him only to turn humans into vampires. I do not think Mikhail would have trusted anyone until he was sure he had a big enough army to defeat the human army if they turned on him. Mikhail did not trust anyone. He was evil but not stupid. I stare at the creature, and we make sure we make no noise and stay upwind so he can not smell us.

We wait until we are sure it is focusing on the campers, then Herman takes out his laptop and deactivates the chip. The creature looks confused momentarily, but then it stares at the humans again. Herman shows me he can not deactivate it and must destroy the chip. Walker and I nod. Herman starts typing softly on his laptop, and the next moment, the creature screams, scaring the living s**t out of the campers, who pack up their stuff fast, load their truck and get out of there in five seconds. I can not help smiling. The creature looks around him, and he looks pissed off that the campers are gone. He is still holding his head, but his eyes seem clear. It sits on the ground for a while, and we walk out of our hiding place.

“You did it? Did you take that chip out? I volunteered for the project, but they did not tell me it would turn me into a monster. I am so pissed off,” He says.

“Well, you can not become human again, but we will help you adapt to being a werewolf,” Walker says.

“You know about werewolves?” He asks. We are amazed that he does not know we are the King and Queen of werewolves, like the other creatures seem to sense, even after we helped them.

“Yes, I am Paris, and this is Walker. We are the King and Queen of werewolves and are here to help you and your friends,” I say.

“Well, you can start by destroying that lab where the crazy man is busy turning us all into werewolves,” The creatures say.

“Why is he doing it?” Walker asks.

“At first, he was talking about his master, called Mikhail, and said he would rule the world with Mikhail and live forever. Then he said someone had killed Mikhail, and he and his creatures would avenge the death of Mikhail. He will destroy the werewolves and turn them into his slaves and let them help him to rule the country and, later, the world. He said he has vampires and would make them turn him into one of them, and he will live forever,” The creature says. I now understand this crazy professor or general or whatever he wants to do.

“What else do you know about him?” I ask.

“The government stopped funding him, and he uses his own money. It is the last lab he has left. He wants to ensure he gets as many creatures into the parks, killing humans and letting humans know about the other creatures they need to be saved. He will be the one to keep them, but they will have to go to his city, and he will become the new King of vampires and continue with Michail’s plan. He only let out a few at a time to scare humans and sometimes to kill them. His creatures are all in this big lab, and he keeps them in cages until he needs them. Some have chips, but others don’t, as scientists always have to improve their devices. It is almost dark, and we must attack in the next few hours.

“Herman, you and a few of our troops stay here and ensure you get as many creatures as possible and destroy the chips. The ones that die are not our problem, and we are going to the lab with this creature,” Walker says.

“I need to go with you, King. I can not let you go in there alone, and I know the general, and he will trust me. Huge Lowe is crazy and has always been obsessed with living forever,” Herman says.

“Fine, let us leave and get there as fast as possible. We can shut down the chips and the operations from there,” I say. We run about another half-hour before we reach the building at the edge of Yosemite National Park. It does not look well protected, as I know the army must have withdrawn their troops, but I can see a few creatures and smell some hiding in the bushes. We do not care about the creatures. Although they are big, strong, and tall, they are not trained to fight, only to kill humans. They are not a match for us. We run straight to the lab and break down the door without effort. The creatures must have heard us but do not want to attack us. Alarms are going off, and soon we are surrounded by these giant creatures, but they do not know who we are. I wonder why.

“They do not seem to have been programmed to kill the King and Queen yet,” Herman says, and I understand why they do not know who we are. I know they had photos of us, as I saw them on laptops in Mikhail’s castle, and I know they have been sent to all the labs he was using so the creatures know what we look like. I know that General Lowe wants to kill us, but he was waiting for his army to become bigger before sending them out to replace and kill us. I know that the two he sent to the Cloverfield pack were a test. We fight the creatures while Herman kills a few scientists and takes over their computers. He works fast, and soon the creatures stop fighting, and like the one we found in the wood, they all look stunned.

“What the hell is going on here? Why are all the caged creatures sitting down and not so aggravated?” A man asks, standing in his uniform of Mikhail’s defeated army. He looks at us. Then he draws a gun and wants to fire it at us, but we are too fast for him, and before he can even think of pulling the trigger, he is on the ground, and the weapon is taken away from him.

“The King and Queen of werewolves! I heard you killed my friend Mikhail! I hope you burn in hell for that. I know he is about to do something, and I shout for everyone to leave the lab. We run as fast as we can outside, and I ensure all our men are accounted for. The general tries to push a button before getting out of there, but we are too fast. As the last of us gets out the door, I look back to see him looking angry as he has already pushed the button, and the lab blows up with the general and the other creatures we could not save that were in the cages. Some creatures died when their chips were deactivated and destroyed, but many are alive, and we helped gather them around to take them home with us. Hopefully, this is the last of the labs, and we no longer have to worry about these creatures.
