Rejected, Broken And Forgotten -
Chapter 99
Third person’s POV
Something does not feel right for the wolves. It was too easy. Why would he blow up the lab? Unless there is an escape route, and he is bluffing. Herman looks at the others, and he knows something is off. The dogmen and rogues that are still alive run with Ace and his men to the pack, but not the Cloverfield pack. He is taking them to the old Ravenstone packhouse, as everyone feels uncomfortable with the creatures, as if they do not trust them.
“Something feels off,” Herman says. The wolves start looking around, and one of the wolves sees that it is only the opening that is blown up. Did the General really blow himself up, or was it a trap? Did he try to kill the King and Queen of werewolves and only blow up the entrance?
“I think he was trying to trap us and blow up the entrance. A steel door led away from the entrance, and he could have closed it and run through it after pushing the button. He looked angry when I looked back, but not worried. He only blew up this entrance; there must be another one somewhere. We need to spread out and look for it,” Paris says.
“He will have to move his lab now, and we will have to watch out when he moves it. They must also have other computers, and I hope some of the creatures in the cages are still alive. We can still save some of them if they are not chipped or did not die when Herman destroyed the chips. I am worried about Ace and our other warriors. We do not know if he can turn on the chips again and if he is using other chips in some creatures, and that is why they do not die like others. It may be why some do not recognize us as it is a new technology, and he has not uploaded all the data onto those new chips,” Walker says.
“It will also explain why he is not worried about the few scientists we killed, as he must have others working on the new chips,” Herman says. He looks worried. He knows Huge Lowe is crazy as hell. He will not let go of his ideas of how the world should look, and although the government stopped his funds, Herman knows he has a lot of money that he stashed away. Some he got from Mikhail and some from the government to make super soldiers to fight for them in wars. When his projects failed, and dogmen started showing up everywhere, the government was impressed, as they were all under the influence of Mikhail and thought they would all live forever. Still, they must all know that Mikhail was dead and would not help them anymore, so they pulled the plug on the project. Huge Lowe will not give up. He worked too long on this project and lost his friends and family. He has nothing else to live for, so he will continue until he dies.
“Let’s spread out, and do not worry about Ace and his warriors. They are well-trained and will not let the creatures with them fool them. I could see Ace did not trust them, so he and his warriors would be fine. He will be well aware of their intentions if they have any bad intentions. They are looking for our packhouse, but Ace takes them to the old Ravenstone packhouse. We will be okay,” Paris says. Walker nods.
“Yeah, Ace and his warriors are strong, and they have some shamans with them, so the creatures should not be a problem. The shaman can quickly take them down with their magic if they try to overpower Ace and his men. They might be bigger and taller than us, but they are not good warriors,” Walker says.
“I agree with Walker. They are not good fighters as the general will not know how to train werewolves. He can not understand how to train them as he never was a wolf himself, and his creatures do not even understand how it is to be a wolf. The rogues will not train them as the rogues do not give a damn about the human side of them, and they are only out there to kill what they can. Some were once good fighters, but I know they have forgotten about being warriors and only care about killing. Some rogues are still in the process of losing their human side, but they are so sad they will not care about training others to fight and will want to die, so they will not help the general train his dogmen to fight. I wonder how he got them so big,” Paris says.
“He is playing with the genes of the human and wolf’s bodies, and he must give them some sort of steroid or something,” Herman says. He will have to examine one of the creatures to understand what Huge and his scientists are up to.
“Well, we will see what happens, but we can not let the general escape with all the creatures. We need to replace the other entrance. Let us spray out and look where it can be,” Walker says. His men start running around the building to see if they can replace another entrance, but there is none, and the whole building has collapsed. There must be an entrance from the underground levels, and they must use tunnels to get in there.
Walker and Paris stand still and listen. They can hear faint voices and some howls. They walk closer slowly and hear the voices getting closer. The wolves with them listen to it as well, and they smile. The General must have forgotten that the werewolf can listen well or does not know that fact. Herman looks at us, and we can see him smiling. He was always the brain behind the werewolf project but did not want to hurt them. He only wanted to study them and replace out what they were and why they were on earth. He found out that the werewolves were human friends, but no one wanted to believe him, and no one was interested in his studies of the werewolves, so they knew very little about werewolves and how they worked. They only know about their bodies and do not know about their other abilities. They do not know that werewolves can kill vampires with a single bite, and they do not know that they can hear better than humans and see better in the dark than humans can. They think werewolves are just humans that can turn into a wolf by shapeshifting but only have the strength of a giant wolf. The day he left, he took all his studies with him. They are only interested in the killing side of the wolves as they wanted first to use them as weapons, then to scare people into becoming their slaves under the leadership of Mikhail.
“We had to kill all of them. They went crazy and started to attack us,” Ace mind-link Walker and Paris.
“It is fine. We suspect the General is not dead. Come back here. We may need your help as we think he is moving his army,” Walker links him back. It does not take Ace and his men to return to where the rest are. They all wait and follow the noises coming from under the ground. They will have to get to an entrance soon as the voices inside the underground become a little louder. The wolves move back a little but trace the sound. They wonder where the General is taking his army. By the sound of it, they think they have fooled the wolves but do not want to take chances and stay at the lab.
“Those stupid wolves think I will blow myself up. Hahaha, Herman always thought they were clever, but I told him they are like humans, and in wolf form, they are stupid as animals,” Huge says, and this time they can hear him loud and clear.
“You were always more clever than him, General. Where are we going?” A woman asks.
“To the lab, we built in Yosemite, it will be easier to send out our creatures from there, and they can return quickly if there is trouble. The stupid wolves will never think to look for us in the park. Herman also does not know about that lab, as we built it after he left,” The General says with a smile. The wolves hear him laughing. They can listen to vehicles approaching and know it must be the General’s vehicles carrying their equipment. The equipment is essential, and the wolves know they must take out those vehicles first.
They see the general and the woman with him walking outside, followed by many creatures. The sun has set by now, and the wolves can make out some of the vampires with them. The shamans want to give the vampires the tattoos, but Walker stops them as they must be careful and take out the equipment first. The wolves keep an eye on them and stay downwind so the other creatures can not smell them. The shamans also chant softly to keep their scent disguised from the other creatures. One never knows when the wind will turn.
“What now?” Herman asks. The wolves use their mind-link so the creatures will not hear them when they talk.
“We wait. The general and his men will drive in front with the jeeps. The trucks will follow,” Walker shows the others where the General is walking, and they see the jeeps standing in the shadow, waiting for them.
“The creatures will run as they are fast. The stupid humans only cared about their bodies and what they could do. I do not think they know we can see in the dark, smell well, and hear even better. Although they might have released it by now, when I was working on their projects, they only wanted to know about their speed and strength and stuff like that. I do not think they know how to train the wolves and are training them like they will train their special forces,” Herman says.
“They might have found a rouge that could train them, but I doubt that as rogues do not train other wolves and normally want to die or kill,” Paris says.
“That is true. Unlike Mikhail and the generals, I have worked with pack wolves and kept them with their families, and I have also worked with rogues, and I know the difference between the two kinds of werewolves. I know who trains and who only wants to kill. I know how the rogues do not give a s**t when their wolves take over and become almost like human serial killers,” Herman says.
“We know we have lived with the rogue problem for years. Some are lucky. Before they lose their human side, they get a second chance mate. There are also two kinds of rogues, those who choose to become rogues and live in the city or elsewhere at peace with humans. They do not kill or hurt anyone, they do not throw their human side away, and they are strong. They lose their loved ones, and their human side is so sad they want to die. Then the wolf takes over and controls the whole situation, and as his human is weak, he does not want to fight the wolf’s side and wants to die. Sometimes they can still be saved, but mostly they become killers. There is another rogue that is the worst. It is the one that is kicked out of the pack for killing an innocent. Like humans, we get wolves that are born evil, and they are like true serial killers. Some of them go crazy and kill innocent children, humans, and other werewolves; they normally become what we call grays,” Jeff says.
“Interesting. After this battle, you and I need to talk, Jeff,” Herman says. The wolves start following the army of General Huge Lowe,” Herman says as the wolves follow the convoy looking for the right place to strike.
