Chapter Five: On the loose

I stare at my reflection in the nearby creek and sigh out; I don't look likethe girl I was even a week ago. My once black hair has mud caked intoit, making it an ugly brown colour that has my hair looking dull andlifeless. My green eyes that used to look like the green in the forest isnow a dull, lifeless lime green colour. I roll my eyes and jump into thecreek, fully clothed. I am back in no man’s land, and if anyone comesout ready to kill me, I don't want to be strake naked like the day I wasborn. I run my hand through my hair, allowing the mud to disappear.My once injured leg is much better due to werewolf speed and being inmy stupid mates’ presence.

"Hey, you there, what are you doing?" I hear a gruff voice making meput on a cold hard look.

"bathing, you got a problem with that?" I question already knowing theanswer, but I might as well play around with them a bit before I die."that is our only source of water, and we don't need to be drinking yourmud and sweat" he growls, I watch as another lot of rouges come outof the trees and bushes some I recognise as the group that tried to eatbens sister.

"hey, that's the weird-smelling girl" one of them calls.

"didn't know I smelt that bad, glad I am taking a bath" I smile out.

"I will kill you" the first wolf howls before lunging at me; I hold myhands out as they do in the titanic only to replace his head in my hand“sorry human, can't let us die’ i hear summers voice in my head makingme growl at her.

“did you want to die summer?" i question

i did but Matthew awake, his wolf calling’ she snarls in my head.

'he is not our mate anymore’ i snarl back making her roll her eyes.

“yes but I don't want to die anymore’ she states

“you are bipolar" i state before shutting off our link.

"ops, sorry" I smile cheekily making everyone run back into the cover, Ilook down and notice the once muddy water is now covered in bloodmaking me groan in annoyance. I was enjoying washing my skin cleanbut not any more stupid wolf.

I hop out of the water and start shaking my body off, deciding to go fora run. I drop the head and strip my clothing off before tying it to myleg. I jump into the air and shift into my wolf.

“freedom’ summer screams in my head before taking control andrunning around loose in no man’s land, I feel our body tense as bensscent starts heading towards us, what the hell, why is he back in nomans land? I run towards his pack line and notice his scent is strongeston his side. I notice a wolf smelling like him jump out. He immediatelyshifts back and stares at me.

"Erika come across, stay with us. Please, we don't feel like its a goodidea for you to run loose. you can have all the freedom you want just,please come across” ben begs making summer shake her head no andrunoff in the other direction

"wait, please" I hear him begin the distance.

“can we rest?" i question summer feeling drained.

“sure can human’ summer replies before replaceing a bush to curl up in“night human’ is the last thing I head before I drift off to sleep.*dream*

I walk through the doors of a small log cabin and sigh in relief

"what are you girls doing, I told you not to run off like that" I smilebefore wrapping them up in my arms

"daddy called us for a meal” they giggle before rushing into the kitchenwhere I see Matthew standing over the stove dishing up tea.

"What did you make us dear mate?" I question in disbelief. Matthewturns around and stabs me through the stomach.

"dead wolf."
