Return Of The Prodigy -
Return of the Prodigy Chapter 116
After leaving the Chandlers, Adam checked the time. He originally intended to replace a place to play with his wife and child, but Katie remained frowning, showing no interest in playing. Annie, however, cared and asked, "Mom, where is your necklace?"
Adam:
"..."
Daughter, you're really hitting where it hurts!
Let's not stir up trouble where there isn't any.
Sure enough, Katie glared at her daughter and scolded, "It's all because of you."
Annie blinked, "Huh?"
"Cough, shall we go eat something? Or replace a workshop to make clay figures?" Adam quickly changed the topic.
Katie immediately turned her head and gave him an annoyed look. "It's all your fault. You insisted that I wear it. Now, look what happened. It's gone, and I won't be able to see it again in the future." Adam successfully diverted the conflict to himself.
"Alright, alright, I promise the necklace will come back to you. Don't be unhappy." Adam hurriedly reassured.
"Really?" Katie asked hopefully.
"Think about it. Ryan Chandler is the President of Lisle's Chamber of Commerce. Do you think he would dare to steal a gift given to you by the President of the Chamber of Commerce in the capital, who outranks him?" Adam confidently smiled. Katie's expression brightened but quickly dimmed. "He doesn't know, and besides, did you see how many people didn't believe it?"
Adam chuckled confidently, "Don't worry, he'll know sooner or later. But even if he's willing to give it, we won't take it. How can my wife use something that others have used before? I'll buy you an even better one later."
Katie rolled her eyes at him. "Smooth talker, do you think you can be richer than Mr. Hamilton?"
"Of course. Haven't you forgotten that my bank card can withdraw five hundred million every day, and the total limit is unlimited?"
"Hehe."
Katie laughed, "Alright, alright, I believe you. Just don't say these things in front of others."
"Daddy, Daddy, I believe you too," Annie said, raising her little hand.
...
At the same time.
Smiths.
The atmosphere in the luxurious and grand hall was extremely solemn. A man in his fifties, wearing a suit and glasses, with a steady temperament, sat on the sofa. He was Henry, the head of the Smiths and Daniel's father.
"Has your brother not come out yet?" Henry Smith asked in a deep voice.
Amelia shook her head and whispered, "No, after returning from the Hartleys, he locked himself in his room and wouldn't let anyone in."
"Hmph! Let him remember this lesson. It's time he learned that he's not invincible, thinking he's the smartest person under the sun. The Smiths's reputation has been ruined by him," Henry coldly snorted.
Mentioning the Hartleys, Amelia immediately thought of that demonic figure, shivering involuntarily. She used to think that Katie had married a useless and mentally ill man, and Adam was not even worthy of polishing Daniel's shoes. But this man she looked down upon, this so-called mentally ill person, had repeatedly caused her to suffer twice, been humiliated twice, and even had the head of the Holidays kneeling in front of him. And now it was Daniel's turn.
Just thinking about the scenes she had experienced before, Amelia knew how deeply Daniel had been hit this time. He had gone from heaven to hell in an instant.
Moreover, Daniel had planned to merge the Hartleys for over seven years.
Seven years of hard work were instantly lost. Just thinking about it revealed how painful and desperate it must be.
Amelia felt that Daniel, who hadn't gone crazy yet, was already very strong.
"Later, you go and bring your brother some food. Then, tell him to file for divorce tomorrow. Once divorced, let him go to the Alameda's capital. There's no place for him in Lisle anymore," Henry said in a low voice. Amelia nodded silently, then looked up at the upstairs.
Upstairs, in the room.
The luxurious room, which was originally decorated extravagantly, was now in chaos. The door was tightly locked, curtains closed, and the entire room was devoid of any light, shrouded in endless darkness.
A thick layer of smoke lingered overhead, like an indelible gloom.
Dark clouds pressing down!
Daniel sat in the corner, his hair disheveled, eyes bloodshot, staring fixedly in one direction. He kept muttering, "How can I turn things around?"
"Form an all-encompassing encirclement with the chamber of commerce?"
"Use violence to settle it through the underworld?"
"Or use official forces to forcibly frame and set up?"
"No, none of these are reliable, and they take too long. I can't wait. I can't wait. I haven't lost yet. I want to turn things around desperately!" "Hurry, I must use the fastest method."
"I'll kill him. I want to kill all of them."
"Kill, kill, kill!"
Suddenly, Daniel thought of something. He first froze, and in the next second, he rushed to the desk and started searching frantically.
Soon, he found a cardholder and pulled out an ordinary-looking business card.
The business card read: "Alameda County's Piedmont Plastic Surgery & Dermatology"
"I've found it!" Daniel was overjoyed. He picked up his phone and called the number on the business card.
"Hello, this is Piedmont Plastic Surgery & Dermatology-"
Before the woman could finish, Daniel interrupted her and said, "Painted skin, painted bones, painted heart. A first and second blade to carve destiny, a third and fourth blade to carve muscles and bones, a fifth and sixth blade to bring death." After a short pause, the woman on the other end said, "You'll be transferred to a secure phone line."
A while later, another voice came from the other end, "Hello, you've reached Snake Lair. What mission would you like to issue?"
