Chapter 463

Cherise glanced at the screen and noticed the time in the bottom-right corner. The car had remained still for ten minutes.

Her furrowed brow deepened, and she instructed, "Hugh, head toward the outskirts of the city and step on it."

When Eugene returned to the island after dropping Cherise and the others off, Carson was still sitting in the same spot. This time, however, there were divination tools laid out on the table. Eugene approached and asked, "Mr. Garcia, should we do something?" He then looked at the tools and said, "This hexagram... it doesn't point in any clear direction. Does this mean...?" Carson nodded. "Yes, their skill is impressive. They've altered the configuration to obscure Morris's location."

Hearing this, Eugene couldn't help but worry for Cherise. He said, "If that's the case, replaceing him will be no easy task. If the enemy is truly skilled and has cast a spell on Morris, no one knows whether he'll be able to endure this." Carson remained calm, his voice unhurried as he said, "That depends on Morris himself. Pass the news on to the Muller family. Rayburn needs to know what's happening." With that, he continued manipulating the tools on the table. Meanwhile, Cherise had already arrived at the location where Morris's car was leaped out of her vehicle, followed closely by Hugh and Crow.

parked. The moment she spotted the car, she

A second car pulled up shortly after, carrying Truman, Leo, and the others who had alerted her. They had instantly set off upon learning that Morris's car had stopped there and was unmoving. The group gathered around Morris's car. The vehicle had been outfitted with heavily tinted, privacy-protecting windows, making it impossible to see inside.

While the others held onto a sliver of hope, Cherise had none left. Despite being just one car door away, she couldn't sense even the faintest trace of Morris's presence. It felt futile to even check.

Noticing her sudden stillness, Leo stepped forward, pulled out a spare key, and unlocked the door. He shouted in alarm, "Where's Mr. Chivers? He's not here!"

Crow stepped closer and said, "Boss, where's your husband? He's gone! The surveillance footage showed the car arriving here

empty?" and then staying put, with no one getting out. How could it be

Cherise stared at the empty car, her expectations confirmed. She motioned for the others to step aside, climbed into the driver's seat, and meticulously searched every corner. Morris's familiar scent still lingered in the air. She gently ran her hands over the steering wheel, noting faint scratches on the spots where he would have gripped it while driving.

The handle above the driver's seat had been completely torn off, showing that someone had clung to it desperately.

This discovery brought a lump to Cherise's throat, and her eyes filled with sorrow. Images of the strong-willed Morris filled her mind. "You must have struggled so hard," she murmured. "Hold on, okay? I'll replace you soon." Her phone rang in the next instant. It was Carson. She quickly answered, "Hello, Mr. Garcia."

Carson said calmly, "Cherise, the person has concealed Morris's location; they're no ordinary foe. Be cautious in everything you do.

"I'll wait for the right opportunity to help you track him down further. And remember, you're not alone. If you need help, just say the word."

After hanging up, Cherise pulled the small glass vial from her pocket again and stared at it with hatred in her eyes. Then, she stepped out of the car.

Leo, Truman, and the others immediately gathered around her. Mrs. Chivers, just tell us what to do next," Leo said earnestly. "We, along with all the members from the Dark Web Division, are ready and waiting for your orders." "Exactly, Cherise," Truman chimed in.

Cherise glanced at them briefly before replying, "No need. This is something you can't help with. Crow, head to GlobalVision Group first."

On the way, Cherise couldn't shake Carson's words from her mind: "High-level witchcraft practitioners don't just cast the spell-they also use metaphysics to conceal their victims' whereabouts, harming or killing without a trace."

In the sprawling suburban villa, one of its rooms was shrouded in oppressive darkness, with tightly drawn blackout curtains shutting out the brightness of a sunny early summer day.

The door creaked open, and a figure stepped inside. For a few seconds, as the door remained ajar, the incoming light revealed a tall silhouette sprawled on the bed. It was clear who it was.

The door clicked shut, and the person, careful not to disturb Morris on the bed, turned on a small nightlight mounted on the wall. The soft amber glow illuminated the room, highlighting Morris's facial features.

The visitor moved cautiously to the bedside and sat lightly on a stool, careful not to wake Morris she'd worked so hard to bring over.

Fixing her gaze on the gorgeous Morris, she let out a soft sigh before saying, "Morris, you're as captivating as ever. I'm Yulia.

"You should know who I am. I mentioned it to you once before the time we met outside Dream Residence at the foot of Azure Peak, when I was drunk."

A shy flush crept onto Yulia's face as she spoke, but she continued after a moment's thought, "From the very first time I saw you in my parents' office, I've kept you close to my heart.

"Even though many years have passed and you've become someone else's boyfriend and lawful husband, your place in my heart has never changed.

"I had flown back to Fresburg to stay with my parents and had planned not to return to Clusia until I completed my new doctoral program in the next few years.

"But that day, when I saw the birth details my grandmother showed me-yours-I wavered. The breathtakingly handsome face from my youth resurfaced in my mind.

"It took so much courage to fly back here from Fresburg, all for one last chance. I don't know if what I'm doing is right, but I can't control myself. I won't harm you. You'll forgive my selfishness, won't you?" SEND GIFT
