Chapter 1553 Continue To Exact Revenge On Nathan Cross
Dr Rothschild took a private jet from North Army General Hospital that night itself. He rushed over tothe hospital as soon as he reached Channing to save the poisoned children with Dr. Torres.
Both doctors worked throughout the night towards the wee hours of dawn. The doctors and nursesof People's Hospital assisted them as much as they could.
Soon, the five children who had food poisoning were saved.
Their parents were relieved and immediately cried happy tears when they heard the good news.
The hospital was filled with journalists from multiple news media outlets. They followed Dr. Torresand Dr. Rothschild with their cameras, hoping to capture some shots for the news headlines. Theywould be reporting about how two renowned doctors had come from a thousand miles away, racingagainst time to save poisoned children. How heroic!
Nathan asked Penny and the family to accompany and take care of Queenie while he accompaniedDr. Rothschild and Dr. Torres to the hospital canteen.
The canteen staff had prepared a merry feast to serve Dr. Torres, Dr. Rothschild and other doctorsand nurses who had just exited the emergency ward.
Once everyone was seated, Nathan raised his glass towards the two heroic doctors, saying, "Dr.Rothschild. Dr. Torres. My daughter and the other children's lives have been saved by both of you. Icould not be more thankful."
Dr. Rothschild and Dr. Torres were overwhelmed by Nathan's gratitude. They quickly raise theirglasses in return.
Dr. Rothschild laughed. "There's no need to thank me. Poison detoxification is Dr.
Torres profession; I was only an assistant. The credit should definitely go towards him."
Dr. Torres quickly interjected, "No. No. No. It's our responsibility as doctors. We treat our patients asbest as we can, just like the General who guards the frontier. We were simply doing our duty."
At that, Nathan laughed. "No matter what, I'm thankful to both of you and all the medical supportfrom the hospital. Let's toast to this, everyone. Cheers!"
Everyone raised their glasses and chorused loudly, "Cheers!"
With that, the banquet officially started. Everyone began eating ravenously; they were all hungryand depleted from long hours of working.
During dinner, Stanley Torres told Nathan about the poison he found in the children's body. It was arare poison that was specifically used by assassins.
Stanley was adamant that someone had wanted to harm the General's daughter. Someone hadpoisoned the children intentionally. It was not a coincidence.
Everyone was frightened by the news and looked towards Nathan in unison.
Despite the shocking news, Nathan was calm as he replied, "I'm aware. Thanks for the reminder,Dr. Torres."
Nathan knew Boris Tucker was the one who had sent his subordinates to harm his child.
Nevertheless, Yale and Shadow were dead. Yale had not admitted that Boris was the culprit.
The testimony given by the other accomplice was not enough to attest against Boris. The evidencewas not enough to prove that this issue is related to him. Boris was a member of the Nine GreatCabinet, highly influential and had henchman everywhere. He could get away without a scratch.
Nathan suddenly remembered something the President had taught him.
If you're not certain you'll be able to take the person down with one blow, don't do it.
As the saying goes, draw the bow, don't shoot the arrow. When you do, you'll hit the
bullseye.
The next day, at Brimmopolis, in Turner Mansion.
Yale and Shadow's corpse were exhibited in the courtyard of the Turner Mansion.
Boris soon arrived at the scene with his subordinates trailing behind. When he looked at thecorpses of Yale and Shadow laid out in front of him, his face turned ashen.
He waved his hand in dismissal. There was a shuffle of footsteps as his men quickly moved thecorpses away from his sight.
Julius said in a low voice, "Mr Tucker, the corpses were sent by Nathan Cross. He sent it here as awarning."
Boris then asked coldly, "Apart from that, did he do anything else?"
"No. He didn't."
Boris laughed coldly. "He has great endurance. His daughter nearly died in my hands, yet he hasn'tsought me out for revenge."
Julius asked carefully, "What should we do, Mr Tucker? Should we continue to take revenge onNathan Cross?
